House overview - owner's description
Your clean, functional and newly renovated home has an open floor plan and is full of bright natural light. It's easily accessible location, off I-10 is near Medical Center, local airport and all San Antonio has to offer. This 700 sq.ft space is a popular choice with the amenities of a hotel but the feel of home. It consists of one bedroom; a fully equipped kitchen; living room and bathroom. Out back there's a private patio to enjoy. Exclusive free-parking is off-street and gated for security.
Staying at Palo de Rosa is just like staying at home, even though you're away from home visiting a city full of things to do! This house is in the Midtown Historical District, one of the most historic areas of metro San Antonio, but at the same time, it's quiet, secure and very close to just about anything you'd like to experience in San Antonio. The house will easily accommodate you, and a couple of guests. People have told us, and we're sure you'll agree, it's clean and very roomy. You only pay for the space you need (2 guests are included in the base price). For the price, it's quite a value, and you'll find that you have a much nicer stay than any hotel, but you're not sacrificing any of the amenities you'd have with a hotel... and you don't have to worry about the noisy people in the next room!
The bedroom has a queen-sized bed with a pillow top mattress and the futon is an easy to setup queen-sized sleeper in the family area.
When you'd like to freshen up, the bathroom has a nice shower and soaking tub with thick, fluffy, super soft, oversized towels and soaps, and shampoos/conditioner.
There is plenty of space to relax and lounge in your home away from home. It has an open floor plan and separate dining area. Please look through the pictures.
The family area has a large futon that converts into a queen-sized sofa bed. There's a 32" flat panel TV with digital antenna to support local channels and free Netflix. If you travel with your own entertainment, it fully supports connecting a Firestick or other devices via HDMI and USB.
Your kitchen is perfect and completely appointed for the family 'master chef' with granite counter tops, dishwasher, refrigerator, range/oven, microwave... and all the necessary cooking and dining utensils, coffee maker, plates, glasses, etc. & tons of storage space.
There's also a fully stocked laundry room in case you need to take care of a quick load of laundry.
For those that enjoy the fresh air, the back yard is large and has a perfect patio for grilling a few burgers or just enjoying coffee in the morning. Your home has a driveway and carport behind a lockable gate.
Here's the part you're going to love! You're only a mile and a half from IH-10, the major interstate through the area (although you'd never know it). Head north and you're only 10 minutes from La Cantera - the gorgeous outdoor shopping mall, as well as Six Flags Fiesta Texas and UTSA; the medical center area where all the hospitals. Midtown is home to Trinity University and St. Mary's. In the other direction, IH-10 will take you to the downtown area where the Riverwalk, the Alamo, and other 'touristy' attractions are (it's only about a 5-10 minute trip by car). I challenge you to name a city where you aren't actually staying downtown but can get there in 10 minutes or less regardless of traffic. The San Antonio International Airport is only a little further away and the west side of town where Lackland AFB and SeaWorld San Antonio are are within a 20 minute drive.
If Palo de Rosa is available on dates you're looking at, grab that booking fast! Open dates do not last long.
Here are some other things to consider doing during your trip regardless of whether or not you choose the Palo de Rosa for your stay (we want you to have fun!):

The Spanish Missions (Includes the Alamo of course...you can rent bikes to explore all of them!)
Six Flags Fiesta Texas Theme Park
Sea World Theme Park
Morgan's Wonderland (Special Needs Theme Park)
San Antonio Botanical Gardens
San Antonio Zoo
Within an Hour of San Antonio...
Schlitterbahn Water Park (Amazing rides, Bring Food, and Free Parking)

This is in a safe neighborhood and within walking distance to food!
If you reserve this listing, you will have the entire home to yourself and full use of it 24 hours a day. You can come and go as you like. There's an electronic lock, so there are no keys for you to keep up with or worry about losing! Even though there's only bed space for 1 to 4 guests, there is plenty of room for additional floor or blow up mattresses.... and you can always have someone bring a sleeping bag to hit the floor if you have more guests than we have beds! Free WiFi, Netflix.
Interaction with Guests:
It's likely you won't see me during your stay, which allows you more privacy and convenience. However, I'm here anytime you need to reach out. If you need anything or have questions, just send me a message and I'll be quick to respond.
Bounded by Hildebrand Avenue to the north, Broadway to the east, I-10 to the west and I-35 to the south, Midtown features an assortment of neighborhoods ranging from the working class Beacon Hill to the up-and-coming Five Points to the established upper middle class Monte Vista. Each neighborhood has distinctive housing characteristics, from Victorian in Beacon Hill to French Eclectic, Neoclassical and Italian Renaissance in Monte Vista.
Located between Alamo Heights and Downtown, Midtown is one of the most historic areas of metro San Antonio, home to Temple Beth-El, Trinity University, and neighborhoods such as Five Points, Tobin Hill, the Monte Vista Historic District, Alta Vista, Beacon Hill, University Hill, and Trinity Heights, Brackenridge Park and the Japanese Tea Garden known as the Garden District.
Taxis are available anytime and cost about $35 to get anywhere else in town. I prefer Uber, which is a private driver service. You'll find information when you arrive for a free $20 first ride! Also, the public bus stops every 15 minutes during peak hours just a few blocks away. Enjoy your stay!
