The Southwest Gulf Coast region

One of Southwest Florida’s main attractions has to be the beautiful beaches. Charlotte County and the surrounding area has a wonderful selection of beach locations for you to choose from: the quiet and remote island retreats, the activity beaches where water sports are on offer, or the popular swimming beaches along Manasota Key. Some of Florida's best State Parks are on your doorstep, Myakka probably being the best with lots of activities on offer.
The area around Charlotte county is known as Florida's best kept secret, although very popular with young and old with many varying places to visit from museums, theme parks to retail therapy no matter what time of year you choose to visit it never seems busy.
Rotonda West
Charlotte County is the real Florida, get away from the theme parks of Orlando and Tampa and life seems to slow down a pace, no more hustle and bustle, no crowds, take your time enjoy the sunshine, relax, go to the beach, watch the dolphins, chill out. If you feel a little more energetic try horse back riding, snorkeling, kayaking, the choice is endless and if you feel you need the adrenaline rush of the theme parks they are only an1hr 30min away.

Big game fishing is a major attraction in Charlotte County and the world championships are held here every year in June. Why not give it a try boats and gear can be hired from various locations locally.
Rotonda also has 6 world class golf courses within the community. all of which are only 5 minutes drive away and we have over 30 within a 30 min drive including a floodlit course just 10min up the road, in case its too hot during the day.

"Fantastic property" Reviewed by Philip P County Antrim for stay June 2013 A beautifully presented and tastefully furnished property of surprising dimensions, in a quiet residential area, convenient for the beaches and ideal for a relaxing vacation. The owners were very helpful and friendly and the price advertised was the price you paid, no other hidden charges. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and would thoroughly recommend it.

"Peaceful vacation" Reviewed by Gilian R United Kingdom for stay Aug 2013 If you want to de-stress then this is the vacation home for you. The villa has everything anyone needs, including those families with teenagers who need internet access to updat e facebook and all that other stuff they have to do! Its location is just great - very private, with pine trees and vegetation surrounding it. At the same time it is close to all amenities, including shops and a variety of restaurants. The local beaches are a short drive away and are just idyllic.

5 Star "Pine Tree Villa" If you are looking for "Quality" in peaceful surroundings look no further, the photos do not do the villa justice, the owners and management could not be more helpful, you have a short drive to some of the Gulfs best beaches and the Food...... My only complaint its already booked for next Easter. We will be going back. A great big thank you. Chris H & Family United Kingdom

“Superb base to tour the Gulf Coast of Florida” 5 star Reviewed by Roger J. Lulworth 22 May 2012 for a stay in January 2012 On arrival we were very pleasantly surprised by the size and quality of the villa. It was extremely well equipped. There was nothing we would have added. The swimming pool was excellent and just the right temperature - even for January! One of our favourite days out was to Stump Pass. A beautiful nature area on the coast. We saw interesting birds and even a pair of armadillos. We made good use of the golf clubs and bicycles. Very thoughtful and saved us money. I would certainly recommend it to anyone.

“Great Villa” 5 star Reviewed 23 May 2012 for a stay in December 2011 We enjoyed staying at Pine Tree Villa. It had everything we needed and more and is in a great location on the Gulf. We loved being able to swim in the pool even though it was December. The owners are very pleasant and easy to deal with and we would have no hesitation in booking the villa again should we go back to the area. MD & JD Southampton, UK

“Luxury hideaway- a real find!” 5 star Reviewed by Emma S. Tamworth. 13 June 2012 for a stay in May 2012 On arrival at Pine Tree Villa, We thought it looked a sweet little bungalow. On entering, we were blown away! It was bright, SPACIOUS and immaculately clean. It had the most spotlessly clean pool we have ever swam in, and we loved the ice-maker on the big fridge freezer. We were a family of 4, and my mother-in-law, and there was lots of space for us all, without feeling on top of one another. All the beds were very comfortable and large. The master bedroom had the biggest bed Ive ever seen! The pool was gorgeously heated to 30*c, which was absolutely perfect. We spent many an hour splashing here and just chilling out. It was also lovely to sit outside in the evening, with lights on and no insects to bother us, thanks to the screen. We had a lovely evening (just hubby and I) in Englewood, watching a spectacular sunset, and then having a drink in a proper American bar opposite, and being caught then in a thrilling thunderstorm. Visited Disney World Magic Kingdom for 1 day, and despite this being an attraction we only did for our 2 little children, we thought it was brilliant. We would certainly return there in the future. The shows and parades were really spectacular (Disneyland Paris is so rubbish in comparison!!). My favourite trip of all was the Everglades. This place is amazing. We saw Alligators swim right past our air boat. The children thought it was great. It had a real jungle feel, and it was lovely to see a real swamp and all the spooky weird mangrove trees. We loved trying out the American food and diners and particularly liked Applebees. Would we go back? In a heartbeat! Thanks so much to Brian and Linda for renting us their beautiful home, you were so helpful and kind. We will certainly recommend your home.

Fantastic!!” 5 star Reviewed By Kevin D. Toronto Canada, 24 July 2012 for a stay in June 2012 We stayed at this villa for 3 weeks in June. I could not think of a better place to stay. The backyard with the screened in pool was totally private. The villa had books and binoculars and pool toys and so on and so on...everything you could think of. You actually could just bring yourself and some clothes, buy some food and you would be fine. Very good lay-out with everything on one level and the silence between each section of the villa was complete. Great construction. Walk-in closets for two. Great 14 foot ceiling open shower in the master bedroom with sky lighting. Garage door opener and the whole place very clean and modern. Thanks Brian for a great experience.

“perfect getaway” 5 star Reviewed by Vicki M Inverurie Scotland 6 November 2012 for a stay in July 2012 We spent 2 Fantastic weeks at Pine Tree Villa in July 2012, we had the best holiday ever. We have stayed in a number of Villas in Florida over the years, the standard of Pine Tree Villa was well above the rental Villa’s we have had in the past, probably the best we have stayed in. The Villa was very clean, spacious and beautifully furnished throughout and equipped with everything we needed and more, from bikes, pool toys, board games, DVDs for the kids, and they loved being able to see their programs on the Sat TV’s in their bedrooms. We especially loved the pool it was the perfect place to relax, it was so peaceful and very private, the water was always at the perfect temperature throughout the day. While relaxing by the pool we saw lots of wildlife from armadillos, tortoise, eagles, turkey vultures, blue jays, to butterflies, dragonflies and geckos to name just a few, the kids just loved it, never been in a Villa where the wild life was right on your door step, brilliant!!. The beaches are just a short drive from the Villa, we enjoyed the local pastime of searching for sharks teeth and shells on the beach, it kept the kids occupied for ages and the water was so inviting, many a happy day was spent at the beach The supermarkets and take-ways were only 5mins drive away from the Villa and there were lots of restaurants close by, Ruby Tuesdays at Port Charlotte shopping mall was our favorite, we also liked the Captains Table at the Fishermans Village at Boca Grande.. Thank you Brian & Liz for allowing us to stay at your lovely Villa, you have created a perfect getaway and we can’t wait to come back in the future..

“Perfect Villa” 5 star Reviewed by Colin W. Central England 4 February 2013 for a stay in January 2013 Fantastic place to stay, better than any hotel. The villa has everything imaginable that you may need to survive in a home from home. Wonderfully comfortable living area, spacious and fully equipped kitchen, spacious and very comfortable bedrooms, all rooms and bathrooms absolutely spotless. The pool is just the right size, lovely and warm. We had it heated, a good choice as there was a slight chill in the air on the odd day. We hope to return as soon as we can. Absolutely fantastic place to stay for a holiday, cannot recommend it highly enough.

“PERFECT VILLA FOR R & R” 5 stars Reviewed By Maureen A. Alberta Canada, 11 February 2013 for a stay in February 2013 We recently booked Pine Tree Villa for a few days after family cruise. It was the perfect spot for some relaxation. This home was well kept and tastefully furnished and decorated. It is located in a secluded subdivision, close to many beaches, attractions and amenities. It is a very peaceful location. The pool was clean and warm. I would definitely recommend pool heat in February. My kids made good use of it! The master bedroom was huge and outfitted with a king size bed. Each bedroom had its own television. Pool toys, beach chairs/umbrellas/toys, bikes, golf clubs, movie collection, etc. - the only thing that could have been provided was hand soap in the bathrooms. This vacation home provided us with everything we could need and more. Brian was great to deal with- fitting us in on very short notice. I would highly recommend Pine Tree Villa for a Florida vacation. I hope to visit again in the future.

“Perfect relaxing holiday” 5 star Reviewed by Christina. Stockholm Sweden12 March 2013 for a stay in February 2013 This beautiful villa is situated on a calm street in a less known part of Florida. Perfect area for walks, jogging or biking. But Sarasota, Tampa, Fort Myers and more is around the corner if you are looking for more action. We traveled with two young children so the area was perfect for us. Beautiful beaches at a distance of 15-30 minutes drive and a playground here and there. There is a good selec tion of restaurants, but as the vill had a barbecue, we chose to eat at the house almost every night. The villa is well equipped and golf sets, bicycles, beach as well as pool toys are provided. We highly appreciated the free WiFi to keep in touch with our family back home. There are also TVs, DVDs, games, books etc. The villa was cosy, felt newly renovated and was very clean. The cleaning at the end of the stay was also included which was great! Property manager was available and quick to help when needed. And finally - the contact with the owner was very pleasant. He did his utmost for our stay to be perfect and he had collected some local info that came handy more than once.

“A fantastic villa in a wonderful peaceful location” 5 star Reviewed By Scott M of Stockport 9 April 2013 for a stay in March 2013 After a hectic 10 days at the Disney Parks in Orlando we arrived at Pine Tree Villa in Rotonda Lakes. On entry to the villa we could not believe how spacious and beautiful the accommodation was and the pictures did not fully do it justice. This villa offers accommodation of a high standard and provides an ideal base to explore the Gulf Coast and its numerous beaches. The property has a superb pool and we used the quality gas BBQ out on the deck most days. The villa is in a lovely location away from all the hustle and bustle of the Florida theme parks, and we enjoyed cycling around the local area which is simply delightful. We would recommend that you consider this villa for your holiday and we plan to return again in the future.

“Peace on earth does exist” 5 star Reviewed by Steve Deni. Manchester, 2 May 2013 for a stay in April 2013 When you read the previous reviews of this villa they at first glance appear too good to be true. They are not. Everything about our stay was perfect and as a bonus the weather was fantastic after what we have experienced in England ! Brian, the owner, was excellent in the way he handled our reservation. He ensured that we understood everything and provided the necessary easy instructions to the villa. This was really appreciated following a long flight and 3 hour drive. The villa is lovely, spacious well equipped and very clean. The pool is a fabulous place to relax especially as it is set in the most peaceful of settings. Wildlife spotting becomes a hard habit to break. You will see for yourself what I mean when you go ! The villa is only a short distance from the local beaches and we visited them all. Stump Pass is the quietest but you need to be there early as there are only 40 parking places. Blind Pass, Manasota Key and Englewood beaches are all excellent and well worth visiting. To assist in making your visit to the beach more comfortable, chairs and other equipment are kindly provided for guests to use. Supermarkets, Walmart, Win Dixi and Publix are all only a short drive away as are the many restaurants. There is a list in the villa and you cant go wrong with any of them. We enjoyed Nicolas Italian and the Fisheries but if you go to Farlows be prepared for a long wait. To sum up, the villa was brilliant and in an ideal setting. The holiday was the most peaceful we have ever enjoyed and we cant wait to return.
