The F train is also within walking distance (about 6 blocks at 2 Avenue / Houston Street: Lower East Side).

We are pleased to announce a great one bedroom vacation rental on 6th Street & 2nd Avenue featuring 11 foot high ceilings, and 10 foot high doorways including the original moldings from the turn of the century. There are about 400 square feet of livable space. This one bedroom has a fireplace and eat-in kitchen. Located on the 1st floor of a 4-story walk-up building, it has been fully furnished a very urban fashion. It has lots of light coming from the large windows in the living area facing eastward, toward the street. The bedroom faces south overlooking a private garden.

The theme of the accommodation is wood. It has unique cork flooring made for walking comfort, which also absorbs noise and custom wooden panels which decorate the walls. The shelving and cabinets are customs made by a master wood carpenter. The plates and holders are mainly bamboos and beautiful hardwoods. The large dining table is a one-of-a-kind tempered glass and wood designed by the owner. The kitchen has all the appliances you need with professional stainless steel.

There is an open space separating the bedroom from the living room in which an HD Flatscreen TV slides to either room and an iPod docking station. Wireless Internet is also available. Two small steps separate the living space from the (doorless, but curtained) bedroom and bathroom. There are two single beds in the bedroom (which combine to a king size bed) and two single beds in the living room. For parties of two, the outside beds are converted to daybeds for sitting This vacation rental is located on East 6th Street in Manhattan's East Village, a unique neighbourhood, even by New York City's standards. Around the corner, 2nd Avenue boasts dozens of small restaurants offering cuisine from around the world and the famous McSorley's Old Ale House is just a block away. Tompkins Square Park is less than 2 blocks from this apartment and offers a calm area to relax in New York City. Shopping is fun with the many small boutique's lines the streets in this area.
