Upon arrival we were surprised about the beautiful country house and the beautiful view. We were very kindly received and guided around. Practical old country house with beautiful old details and atmosphere. Great spacious apartment with upstairs, of which only the large bathroom needs renovation. The beds are fine and the bedrooms all have a TV. Downstairs you have to be careful about the thresholds and steps that are everywhere. Lovely pool, where some rules apply because of safety, but that makes sense. All in all a very nice stay

Warm welcome by the owner. Large stately country house divided into apartments, somewhat dated because it is an old building. There is currently also major maintenance. Beautiful view of the Taw River. Lots to see and do in the area, from beaches to cities and nature parks. In the garden also possibilities for badminton, football etc. There is unfortunately no private outdoor space. Lovely warm swimming pool. The springs can be felt here and there in the mattresses. Kitchen fully equipped.

Arrival at a property with fantastic views over the riverbed. Warm welcome by the owner. He hires parts of the country house and everyone may use swimming pool (nice hot) and pool table and games room. Lots of space and something for everyone. Furnishings are not modern but comfortable beds are provided. We need a car to explore the beautiful surroundings. Its proper distances.Barnstaple is a cozy town and there are plenty of shops. The beach is not far away. We have been for a week, but you can spend two weeks without bothering you!

It was a beautiful Urlaub.Schon upon arrival we were überwältigt.Unser mansion was on a hill on the outskirts of Barnstaple. In the wonderful view we immediately forget the hardships of the 1500 km long car journey and felt visiting Rosamunde Pilcher. Our host, a baron, greeted us warmly and cared for during Urlauswoche. The whole area was huge. There were horses, sheep, chickens, dogs and cats rather super fit on the property, which disturbed in no legally, then. Every day there were fresh farm eggs. The apartment was equipped huge, clean and with everything you on holiday so needs to be comfortable. For the children, a huge playground available (football, basket ball net, balls, badminton, trampoline, etc.) was the pool was large, clean and warm. We have felt ourselves very well. Surprisingly, even a washer and dryer were vorhanden.Wir met a German family that already there was on vacation for the third time. With us there will certainly be also a second holiday in this mansion.

Positive were the kitchen, good beds and towels. And the beautiful view from the driveway! Negative home was partially basement, so dark, especially living and dining area. There was only one toilet and then in the bathroom and that for 5 people. And it's old and still pretty run down ...

This is a typical example of the impoverished nobility a beautiful country but very poorly maintained. The pool was really superb and the pool / snooker room we were allowed unlimited use. R nThe double beds were small (we often suffer from abroad) and one of the beds even bad. R nof the owner / manager, we can not say goodbye, because they left "in the morning suddenly asked.

The view of the surrounding area is magnificent and priceless. You imagine yourself in Upcott House in the setting of an English costume drama, it certainly should be called. Magical and authentic The lord and lady of the house are approachable for any question. The heated pool and children's play area are a big plus. Add the English charm, hospitality and openness to it and you have a delicious cocktail, which is far nasmaakt.
