Poppies at Westcliffe House is a luxury 4 star rated two bedroom holiday home sleeping up to 4 people. Situated in 2 acres of grounds with stunning scenic views of Simonside and the Coquet valley.
Poppies at Westcliffe House is under new management and new to Holiday Lettings. This stunning property is a luxury 4 star rated two bedroom apartment sleeping up to 4 people. It is though an ideal property for a couple wishing to enjoy quiet retreat on the edge of the village.
The picturesque Village of Rothbury has excellent shops, restaurants and amenities and is located on the edge of the Northumberland National Park, providing an ideal base to explore rural Northumberland.
The property has a spacious open plan living/dining area with French doors leading to a small patio. The Kitchen has granite worktops and tiled floor. There is a large double bedroom with window to the rear and a smaller bedroom to the front with bunk beds (the top bunk is open to the side) . Bathroom with over-bath shower, toilet and tiled floor.
This property is ideally suited to between 2-4 people and we are happy to accept ONE well behaved and housetrained SMALL dog (pet fee payable with booking).
A range of amenities including local shops, post office, cafés, country pubs and restaurants are all within easy reach in Rothbury. There are numerous local tourist attractions, riverside walks and scenic countryside within the immediate vicinity.
The stunning coastline of Northumberland is just a short distance away. Poppies is the ideal base to explore all that Northumberland has to offer, from it's famous castles and award-winning beaches to walks, cycling, golf, water sports and fishing or one of the county's many attractions.
If you fancy exploring the area then we would recommend having a car. However the area is well served by public transport with bus services available to the towns of Alnwick and Morpeth, along with connections to Alnmouth Station. Here you can get an East Coast train to Edinburgh, Newcastle or indeed London.
There is also the Coquetvale Circular bus which allows access to the villages of Alnham, Elsdon and the National Trust property at Wallington.
**Please Note: the NEW Rental Systems nightly pricing & tariff calculates nightly rates by taking the weekly tariff rate and dividing it by 7. This nightly rate is misrepresented, as it does not take into account Short Break Percentages explained in the Tariff Notes section below. Sadly we have no control over this new trend towards nightly 'hotel-style' pricing so please get in touch and we will be happy to help you further.**

We had an excellent week at this property, ideal location for exploring Northumberland as it is very central. Lovely quiet spot overlooking fields and close enough to the town centre. Very spacious with everything that you would need for a self catering holiday, it looks brand new so very clean and it had some nice touches such as games and books should you get bad weather.
Overall, our family of four enjoyed our five nights stay at Poppies. We found the cottage to be well-equipped (though did not use the washing machine!) , clean and a great location for exploring Hadrian's Wall and the Northumberland coast-line. The cakes, tea and stottie was such a lovely welcome after our long journey up. Parking is awkward by the actual cottage but there is plenty of parking spaces at the bottom of the main house. We would certainly visit again and have already recommended the cottage to our family and friends.
