Cheviot View - Luxury Apartment Northumberland

Overview

Visit Northumberland and discover the best Northumberland has to offer. Whatever your interest Northumberland can accommodate; this historic county has amazing castles such as Bamburgh, Walkworth, Alnwick and Dunstanburgh to name a few; country houses such as Cragside, Wallington and Belsay offer fantastic insight into the great industrial revolutionists of the area , such as Lord Armstrong.
Rothbury is situated adjacent to Cragside House which was the home of Lord Armstrong and was the first house in the world to be lit by hydroelectricity. Currently owned by the National Trust there is plenty to do for everyone. With one of the largest rock gardens in Europe Cragside House has an iron bridge, formal gardens, lakeside walks, adventure play area and labyrinth especially for the children.
Other National Trust properties in the area include Wallington, Dunstanburgh Castle, the Farne Islands and Lindisfarne Castle on Holy Island.
A short journey from Rothbury you can find Alnwick Gardens and Alnwick Castle. The Castle is still the home of the Duke of Northumberland and has been used as a film location for films such as Harry Potter, Blackadder and Elizabeth.
The Northumberland coastline offers some fantastic sandy beaches such as Embleton and Alnmouth to either spend the day or simply have a leisurely walk along. Bamburgh Castle located near Seahouses offers a great insight into the turbulent history of Northumbria from medieval times to more recent history with Lord Armstrong's family.
Rothbury is situated on the outskirts of the Northumberland National Park and offers an excellent base in which to explore the beauty of the park. The National Park offers something for everyone whatever your interest. Walkers love this area because of the spectacular trails throughout the area.
Kielder Water is less than 30 miles away and has a range of activities including; walking trails, mountain biking trails, fishing, horse riding, water activities, wildlife and adventure activities. Whatever your preference Kielder is an ideal location for a daily excursion.

This was our second visit to this group of apartments and we had another very enjoyable stay. The apartments are very well equipped, clean and comfortable. The location is excellent with lovely views across the valley. There are some decent walking routes from the front door and when we stayed we saw a deer in the front garden. All in all very good value for money.

Great comfortable apartment with wonderful views. Only negatives ... Kitchen equipment a bit sparse and rather dark. That said we would definitely visit again.

This was our fourth time staying at Westcliffe House, first time under new ownership. The "care package" welcome was very appreciated and grounds and overall appearance was much improved. Our only suggestion would be a broom and dustpan, rather than having to haul out the vacuum cleaner everytime we wanted to "sweep" the kitchen floor! Will continue to stay there as long as our family are living in Rothbury.

Very spacious, well-equipped and very comfortable 4* apartment with beautiful views. Rothbury offers a good range of shops and eating out options and is very central for exploring both the national park, the Alnwick attractions and the lovely Northumberland coast. Would certainly recommend this property and this area to friends and family.

From the moment we arrived we were blown away by the viewand the apartment. It was extremely clean & spacious. We had a wonderful time. Darren and Andrew were wonderful hosts and have done an amazing job in turning the property around for guests to come and stay. Another selling point for me is that its a dog friendly establishment. Toby was made to feel very welcome. Thankyou for a wonderful stay. We will be back!!

Spacious and comfortable, well set up kitchen and lounge, lovely views, short drive down in to Rothbury.

This property is finsihed to a high standard. The arrangements are ideal for 2 couples. However, it is in a dead spot for mobile phone reception and with no house phone this is a serious & potential safety risk should there be a fire or someone is taken ill. It also seemed that not all the finishing touches were present, with no toilet roll holders, only a part roll of toilet paper available and dirty washing left in the washing machine. A great location though with excellent views.

Light and spacious with great facilities. Very quiet and peaceful. Wonderful views from lounge and main bedroom. Rothbury was a good central base for exploring the county and had all the necessary ameneties including an excellent Italian restaurant.
Lovely apartment with wonderful views. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and visited some picturesque places. Truely Great! The Ball Family, Bedfordshire
