We travelled with my sister and her children (13 & 10 years old) and the 6 of us had a lovely stay. Pictures are accurate and we found what we were expecting. It is a lovely apartment with huge windows. All mattresses are very comfortable (no folding beds/sofa bed). The living room/kitchen is roomy. Any gadget we needed was there and also some "basics" like sugar, coffee or tea and even dishwashing liquid. The building has a 24-hour security guard. It is just 5 minutes walk to Mile End Road, where you find the Tube Station (Whitechapel), several buses going to the City Center and a big Sainsburys Supermarket. The owner provided a lot of support and information and the instructions given were very clear so it really helped us a lot to have a remarkable stay in London Thanks again Graham!

The property is at the high end of properties in this part of London. We liked it but several details about it fell short. There were three of us - any more and wed have been pretty crowded downstairs and run out of cutlery and crockery pretty soon. I would have expected supplies of soap and toilet paper to be included in a property at this price range. They werent. I would also have expected all the lights to be functioning - four bulbs were dead and one fitting was hanging loose in the stairwell. Two of the wall heaters stopped working at day 1. There was no cleaning - we were there a fortnight - and Im not sure sheets would have been changed if I hadnt emailed the owner about it. Graham, the owner, was pretty prompt at replying and did turn up to repair some items. A nice enough flat, but a few details meant it didnt quite live up to our expectations.
Owner reply:

There us enough crockery and cutlery for six guests in the property. The apartment is 1000 square foot which is a lot bigger than most equivalent apartments. The photos accurately show the space. This is a self catering property and a toilet roll is left in each of the two bathrooms at check in. As with any home, from time to time bulbs need replacing. The bulbs were replaced at the next changeover and couldn't be changed during the guests stay as 3m tall ladder was required to rech the bulb. The heaters are controlled via a central thermostat and heaters will only work when the temperature drops below a certain level. This explains why two heaters didn't 'turn on' during this guests stay. All heaters are in working order and there are additional free standing heaters available should guests need more heat. Cleaning is done at each changeover - this is a self catering property and no daily cleaning service is provided. If further cleaning is needed during your stay I am happy to discuss this at booking stage. i hope this clarifies this guests review.

We liked the flat which is well equipped and we enjoyed our time there. Everything was as described. Its location is very good for a week in London - 10 minutes walk to Whitechapel underground station. Shopping facilities are many - we would definitely recommend it.

Very comfortable, spacious and very well furnished flat with perfect connexion to the bus (339 to Shadwell or Mile End) for 6 persons. A great profit for evry renter ! An exceptional domicile for a fair price !

We were a group of 5 people in London for work, and the property exactly matched our needs. Why would you ever stay in a hotel when you can have such a great apartment for a much lower rate. I will definitely be using the apartment again.

The apartment was super - really clean and tidy, close to the supermarket. A great home from home, thanks Graham.

Fantastic apartment, really well set up, very comfortable - so much better than staying in a hotel. Owner very helpful and friendly at all stages of the booking and arrangements, arrival etc. We had an excellent few days.

The property was in great condition. The apartment was the perfect size for my family. The apartment was about 10 minutes from the Tube. This was my second trip to London in 2 years. I would rent this apartment again. The landlord was extremely helpful and easy to contact. The apartment is very safe. There is great security and is located in a quiet location.

The apartment itself was great roomy and clean. The car park space made it wonderful and having security was great. The only negative thing was the area does not have many eating places that are not Indian or fast food and that suit children. The pubs around did not serve food or olny did a few nights a week. Once we found this out we travelled on the tube to other areas for dinner. Howvere we had a wonderful stay and it was great value for money.
Owner reply:

The apartment is a short walk to Brick Lane and Spitalfields where there are literally hundreds of excellent restaurants. Its also one tube stop from Hoxten/Shoreditch where there are many more superb restaurants from all nationalities. Please ask for advice on restaurants as Im happy to give this!

The property definitely had the wow factor - we loved the tall windows and exposed London brick. It was very accessible for the underground and Sainsburys for food shopping. The only minor details which would have improved it would be some extras in the kitchen (mixing bowl, whisk, oven gloves). Would recommend it and may well book it again ourselves!
Owner reply:

These kitchen items have since been added to the property (June, 2009)

I stayed for a week with 2 kids. far exceeded my expectations. Top class decor, very well equipped with more than enough room for any family or 3 couples (sleeps 6). It is in excellent location, a 10min stroll to the nearest tube station. It is a very safe complex with 24hr security & free residents parking right outside your door. Overall, i could not fault this apartment and would recommend it to anyone who is looking for that special stay in London.
We really enjoyed our stay in the Old School - Luxury Loft. The house was clean and very luxurious. Concierge was helpfull and there was a good ambiance. We were sorry there were not enough glasses and cutlery.
Looked just like photographs.Large apartment, comfortably accommodated 5 people. Clean & well equipped..although extra cutlery would have been great. Approx 10 minute walk to Whitechapel Station. Sainsbury supermarket close to station. Pleased with the 24hour gated security due to the surrounding housing estate
"This property beats anything else we stayed in! So much space and the kids havent stopped talking about it since we got back. John the concierge was really friendly and made us feel really safe. This apartment is ideal for families who want security and a quiet environment yet good location. We only walked 5 minutes to the main street with some lovely restaurants and you need to check out the George pub (end of Jubilee St) - full of bohemians and artists and apparently some great banks play there. I love these old Victorian buildings - beats the bog standard 2 bedroom flat or hotel room any day!" Carlos and Sandra, New York
The property was overall great. Secure building and close location to tube and central London. The staff at the property were all very friendly and extremely helpful. The only negative was the proximity of some large estates between the property and the tube station,r which made for an uncomfortable, albeit we had no real issue, when walking home at night.
Excellent property - very comfortable, well presented, clean, well appointed. Quiet location. - Good value for money - Exceeded expectations - Description was accurate (although Shadwell station is a shorter walk) - I would recommend to a friend visiting London
A very well presented apartment with a very well equipped kitchen including washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets etc. We felt very safe in the gated complex which also has a 24/7 security guard. It takes about 7 minutes to walk from Whitechapel Underground so very easy and great to have Sainsburys on your doorstep too. Local people seemed very friendly and one very kind lady directed us to the apartment. My only criticism, and it is only a tiny one, would be that better directions would have helped us on arrival! All in all, a great apartment which I would definitely recommend.
Owner reply:

Thank you for your useful review and feedback. The directions and location map have been updated and are now much clearer.

wonderful apartment, looks exactly like those shown in photos, nice& clean rooms and kitchen, transport is easy. we enjoyed our stay in this apartment.
Clean, tidy, a home away from home and the owner was most helpful and prompt responding to enquiries
We had an enjoyable stay at this property which is comfortable and well-designed,it makes you really feel at home. The owner was friendly and helpful. Its an ideal house for families.
The house is amazing. Everyone loved it. Graham, the owner, was also extremely helpful. I really recommend this apartment. Its located in a lovely condominium and the apartment itself is extremely well taken care of.
Nice place - near the City - the flat is good for a family with minor kids. The cleaning was ok - but there where dust on lamps.
Living in this apartment made our stay in London very comfortable. The apartment was well equipped and spotlessly clean. Of the 3 apartments we have rented in London in the past 3 years, this one was by far the best. Graham was very helpful and obliging. When making our booking we were a little concerned about the location of the apartment. We need not have worried. We walked to and from the tube station at night and had no concerns doing so. We recommend this apartment without reservation.
This property was very comfortable and the description in the advert was very accurate. My only little moans would be that due to the fact that it is situated in a renovated Victorian school house and the cealings are very high the rooms tended to be rather chilly. It could also be closer to the Underground station however this was really not a problem as the walk is only 10 minutes. Overall I was very satisfied with the apartment and the pros certainly outweighed any cons.
Owner reply:

This property has recently had draught proofing added to all of the sash windows making it noticeably more comfortable and quicker to heat up (October, 2010)

The owner is just like a gift from god- and i am not joking at all, he had been so so helpful during my stay. The rooms were little on the small side , but hello... what can you really expect from an accommodation in London.
The flat was wonderful. It was plenty of space for two people. The decoration was modern and so was the kitchen. It make an ideal place to stay for short or long term a real home away from home. It is walking distance to the tube, buses and shops the area is nice and quiet but not far from the centre of london so you can find plenty of night life.
'Wow what a stunning place. Love all the wide halls and brick. Really quiet and safve with security guard. Recommend the pub down the road The George Tavern - really wacky fun bands and good beers'. Jane and Lol, Bristol
'Graham was really helpful and we're coming back next year. Stayed on business trip and this loft is way better than a hotel and perfectly located for the City and West End. Amazing big bed upstairs and love the big telly on the wall - very rock and roll!'. Sam, Rob and Jon, New York
