Chalet overview - owner's description

South facing property on the Lizard Peninsula

South facing two bedroom property in close proximity to the Lizard Peninsula. Plenty of outside space to relax. Only a short drive to Mullion Cove, The Lizard, Roskilly's Ice-cream, Flambards and many other attractions. Pet friendly accommodation. The Lizard Peninsula with its dramatic coastline has been designated as an area of outstanding natural beauty, close by there are sandy beaches, the South West coastal footpath and the magnificent sailing waters of the Helford River are within easy reach. The Lizard village itself is a short drive away and has a range of amenities that include a post office, food stores, and butchers and there are also a number of well regarded public houses and restaurants. The property has one double bed and two single beds along shower room and kitchen.Lizard Point with its lighthouse is the most southerly point in Great Britain. It is famous for the local serpentine stone, a unique metamorphic rock which is dark green veined with red and white. Serpentine ornaments were particularly fashionable in Victorian times but the village still has several serpentine turners working during the season. There are several craft shops, gift shops and galleries. Of special interest is Poldhu Cove from where Marconi sent his first transatlantic radio message in 1901. The first signal was received in Newfoundland in December of that year – an event which was to change the world.

This holiday home is lovely, clean and kept very well. The little extra touches made our stay special. Great location to see all the best Cornwall has to offer. Situated between two towns and very close to Kynance Cove. Lizard is a small coastal town that has lovely shops and gives you the small village feel. Helston has bigger shoppes and grocery stores for all the forgotten items. Will book again!

My partner and i along with our two dogs went to Lizard for Kynance cove and other beautiful beaches, there were a few places to choose from. We went with this property as it was newly renovated and at a great price for the time of year. Neil and James are brilliant owners, they respond very quickly to any queries also. The house is very practical for a couple or small family, we will be returning again. There is not a lot to do in Lizard but its a beautiful place, visit Kynance Cove, Lizard Point (most southernly point) and the Lighthouse Too, its a great hideaway with some lovely hidden beaches too. Lizard has some good cornish shops in with some pubs and places to eat, i recommend heading to Fat Jacks for cornish pasties and ice creams! While we stayed in Lizard we visited other cornish towns including Newquay, St Ives and Falmouth, all beautiful places with lots to do for families and tourists. This was our second visit to cornwall, and has been the deciding factor for us to confirm that we are looking to move there in the future! The cornish lifestyle is great! Happy Holidays Rob, Deni and Dogs

We were looking for a base to explore some of the South West coast but needed somewhere which would accommodate our doggie too. This property ticked all our boxes and was very reasonable priced. It has been recently decorated to a high standard and the kitchen was stocked with all the cooking essentials you'd need to self-cater. However with a wealth of restaurants within a half hour drive, you'd be mad to not treat yourselves to some meals out. With a double bed and two singles you could in theory have four adults staying but I suspect it would be a little cosy :). Saying that, there is so much to see and do nearby that this might not be a problem. The apartment was stocked with lots of thoughtful touches like tea/coffee/milk on arrival and a selection of books and films for when the British weather doesn't hold up its end of the bargain! We particularly found the tourist leaflets and guide books a great source of inspiration as, typically of this corner of England, internet connection leaves something to be desired. Also, the owners were very quick to respond to communication. Tips for the area; Be sure to pack good walking boots to fully explore and make sure you've got cash for parking and ice creams,
