This is our 2nd stay at Riverside Cottage and it was lovely to be back, everything was just the same so we were able to get there and get straight on with our holiday, lovely little cottage in a fab village. The walk along the river is seconds away and The Running Fox over the bridge is as always amazing. We love coming to this cottage because it is very cosy and its close proximity to the A1 so we can visit all over Northumberland, would highly recommend.

Great cosy cottage. WHen we stayed we had really cold weather, a couple of snow showers but the cottage was lovely and warm. My husband and son saw a woodpecker out of the lounge window and on a walk back from the pub one evening we saw a young deer in the woods. The cottage is in a lovely area there are so many walks from your doorstop, and the walk up into the forest is delightful. We went into Keswick on a couple of evenings and used a taxi which cost us £8.00 great value if there are 4 of you. The nearest place to eat and drink is Brailthwaite which has 3 pubs. Our favourite is middle ruddings which has a great selection of beers and spirts, especially gin and the food is good. It's a five minute drive or about a 40min walk. This cottage is great value for money in a great location.

We had a lovely stay despite freezing weather, snow, ice and a ferocious east wind. We did not move the cars for a whole week. Snow drifts blocked surrounding roads and the trains were not running. However we were very peaceful, warm, comfortable and in beautiful surroundings, even if the weather was a bit wild! Tony and Debbie could not have been more helpful and their dog even took himself off for a walk with me one day. Thank you. hopefully next year we shall have a 'Spring' holiday over 1 March, which is actually the official first day of Spring, though this year it was about -5 and there were ice floes on the estuary.

The cottage was perfect for our needs, which was to enjoy country walks from the cottage with the dog. It was great to have use of the owners grounds - the views are exceptional over the estuary. Tony and Debbie were very welcoming and helpful without being intrusive.
