Apartment overview - owner's description

Superb centrally located first floor apartment tucked away just off Trafalgar Street in the vibrant North Laines area of Brighton. Newly refurbished throughout, perfect for holidays or business.

Trafalgar Apartment One is at the bottom end of Trafalgar Street, close to St Peter's Church. It's very easy to get to by train as Trafalgar Street runs under the station concourse.

The apartment itself is on the first floor of a refurbished building, tucked way on a one-way street. It's been completely refurbished, and benefits from Virgin internet and television.

There's a bright and airy master bedroom with double bed and a further twin room with two single beds and wardrobe. There's also a pull-down bed in the lounge ideal for guests 5-6.

The living room has seating for six, as does the breakfast bar.

There's one bathroom with bath and shower over, WC and wash basin.

Trafalgar Apartment One is in the ideal apartment to explore Brighton for a holiday, or to stay for work purposes. Come and enjoy!

North Laines, Brighton has come a long way in the last ten years. It's now the hub of activity and culture and close to all amenities and attractions.

There are plentiful restaurants and bars around; also since the New England Quarter has opened, there are other shops and supermarkets to enjoy just five minutes walk away.

North Laines is especially known for it's independent shops and boutiques. You can buy beautiful one-off crafts and clothes for your wardrobe or your home.

It has a real villagey feel, even though it's part of a city.

North Laine is a bohemian shopping area popular both with locals and tourists, well served with cafés, bars and entertainment venues including theatres such as Komedia, which is in a former Tesco supermarket. The latter had been closed for some years in anticipation of major redevelopment of the area which failed to materialise; in the building was for some time a covered market with a number of small stallholders, until Komedia moved in from their previous home in Kemptown.

The first branch of Anita Roddick's Body Shop, later to become a multinational business, was opened at 22 Kensington Gardens. Typical retailers include art, antiques, architectural salvage, second-hand books, music, "retro" clothing, graphic novels, musical instruments and new age paraphernalia. There is a high turnover of boutique-style shops in North Laine in general.

One of the less shopping-oriented streets, Upper Gardner Street, is closed to traffic every Saturday for an on-street market. Amongst the houses of this street are several antiques dealers.

The City Council redeveloped a gap site, constructing a new library and public square which became available to the public in 2005. This significantly changed the flow of pedestrians, which prior to this had been predominantly straight through North Laine on the main shopping streets, and is now more two-dimensional

In the Laines, minutes from the station and with grubbs burgers just around the corner, this was a great place to be. the weather was horrible and the flat was great for coming back to to warm up and dry out. everything was clean and worked just fine.

Enjoyed a very comfortable stay with friends at the start of December. The apartment had everything we needed and gave us a great base for exploring Brighton. Very close to the Lanes, a short walk to the seafront and close to the station and supermarkets. Renny , the owner, was easy to contact and very helpful with arrival and departure times.

just come back from a lovey week in Brighton. not a destination I would have chosen but daughter was doing a week work experience, so ended up all the family going and making it the family holiday. I have been pleasantly surprised by Brighton. Absolutely lovely the quirkiness of the Laines, with the buzz of the city and a beach on the doorstep. The apartment which was immaculate, catered for all our needs and Renny was there to greet us and provide useful information on the facilities. The shops, beach, restuarants were all within easy walking distance, but we also had quality family time in the apartment playing Monopoly that was there for guests. All in all, would definetly return, and highly recommend..

I stayed in Brighton for the weekend with my husband, my sister and her fella and this was the perfect place to stay. The location is fantastic at the top of the lanes, with a car park round the corner and a couple of minutes' walk to the station via the underpath. It is right next to a pub but surprisingly the apartment was still very quiet - we could hear little noise. The apartment was clean, modern and large and had all conveniences available. It was good value too. We will definitely stay again.

Perfect location - everything is in walking distance. Modern and clean accommodation that is ideal for sharing with friends. Owners made it easy to arrange and always available to contact. All in all, loved Brighton and would stay here again in the future!

Having done a bit of research, we decided that Trafalgar House Apartment One was a great alternative to hotel accommodation and would allow us the flexibility for self catering should it be required during our stay. We spent a weekend in Brighton with a friend and stayed in this warm, comfortable, spacious, modern apartment which was well equipped and included a good shower and some very comfortable beds. No complaints whatsoever and we will definitely be back. No hesitation in recommending this establishment.
