Stylish, comfortable, characterful, fully equipped Victorian home. A stone's throw from the sea, amongst the vibrant shops, cafes and entertainment of Brighton.


Property now available in Easter break, and in Summer 2017. We are taking weekly bookings only with a significant discount over the cumulative nightly price. The discount is over 25%. If you wish to stay for more than 1 week in the summer, further discounts are available!

Stylish, comfortable, fully equipped house by the sea. You will be in Kemptown, Brighton - our village in the city - a stone's throw from the beach and independent shops and cafes.

You will be in easy reach of London and Gatwick, and on the doorstep of Brighton city centre, marina, and South Downs countryside. Our home is an early Victorian terraced house, attractive and full of character - a great base to explore from, or a destination in itself for a quiet few days. We think you'll love it.

The house is fully equipped and great for families, friends or corporate bookings who want to spend some time in our unique city. It sleeps 6. There are 3 bedrooms (1 king, 1 double, 1 single, 1 cube bed), a large downstairs living room and a separate dining room/kitchen that looks onto a private backyard (sun trap during the middle of the day!).

In the kitchen there is a dining table, fridge, cook's stove and nice big fridge freezer you will need to make the most of the local produce available nearby. Of course there is a washer, a drier and dishwasher. And an mp3 connector and radio.

The living room has a great stereo where you can play CDs, a flat screen TV with cable, YouTube and Netflix, and Wifi. Lots of books to read, a beautiful old piano to play, and an acoustic guitar to strum.

Bedroom 1 has a kingsize bed and storage you can use, with a double bay window looking onto the street. It's the sunniest room in the house, but at night there are great curtains that block out any street light.

Bedroom 2 looks onto the yard, and has a double bed - and an electronic drum kit!

Bedroom 3 has a single bed and is double height space with a Velux to watch the sky or stars by, and overlooks the yard.

A comfortable single 'cube' bed can be set up wherever you like - there is ample space in the living room, master bedroom and even the other bedrooms. Let us know if and where you want it.

All bedrooms will have crisp, clean Hotel sheets, duvets, pillows etc for you. Our management service provides fresh linen for all guests, on made-up beds. This contributes to the cleaning cost, which is therefore a little higher than some other rentals.

Bathroom upstairs has a great shower, claw foot bath, toilet and vintage sink and looks out onto the yard. There will be towels and bath mat for you to use, soap, shampoo and toilet paper.

There's a toilet under the stairs with a vintage Barbican hand basin.

A soft top surfboard, skimboard and bodyboards are available for you to use.

The house is in the best area of Brighton - in our opinion! Kemptown has a mix of modern and Victorian and has some of the England's most beautiful Regency buildings (the famous Sussex Square is a short walk East). The house is opposite the Brighton Ballroom - a former Regency mausoleum and now private members club which has a dome like Brighton Pavilion on top.

It's a stone's throw to the beach - the quieter end, great for bathing, walking, fishing or swimming. The world's oldest electric railway - the Volks railway - runs all summer along the front and you can catch a ride East to the marina or West to the Palace Pier.

It's a short walk the other direction to the South Downs with great walking and cycling.

The marina is a 15 minute walk East - shopping, fishing, sailing, diving and other attractions.

On the block there is a very friendly health food shop, various corner shops, an off licence, launderette, Indian restaurant, Thai takeaway (recommended!), fish and chips, etc. It sounds busy but really it's not a major road - mainly residential and well spaced out.

A very short walk away - 5-10 minutes max - and you can access great pubs, coffee shops, delicatessens, a French bakery, wine shop, grocers, butchers, cheese shops, antiques and flea markets, vintage clothes and more!

A 20-30 minute walk gets you to central Brighton with its famous Royal Pavillion, seafront, piers, Lanes, independent North Laine shopping and high street shopping. The station - to London (1 hour) and beyond - is a 30 minute walk or 15 minute bus ride.

You can be in the museums of South Kensington, shopping in Oxford Street, eating in China Town or at the Theatre in Shaftesbury Avenue in 2 hours from our front door.

The house is in a controlled parking zone. Parking vouchers are available from us at a cost of £5 for 24 hours, parking in the surrounding blocks (zone H). Contact us with your booking to tell us how many you would like.

Cycling is easy - the seafront cycle path runs as far as you want to go East or West - and you can mountain bike up and over the South Downs from here.

Most places are in easy walking distance, if not there are lots of local buses. It's about 15 minutes to the station by bus, 10 minutes to the Royal Pavilion or Palace Pier, about 20 minutes to high street shopping in central Brighton. Buses from the Palace Pier will take you up to Devil's Dyke - open topped! - in the South Downs.

There is a taxi rank round the corner by the hospital.

Brighton station will take you up to London in an hour. You can easily visit historic Sussex towns like Chichester, Lewes or Hastings by train in a day, or get out into the South Downs for walk. Brighton Coach station is an alternative, and is just behind the Palace Pier.

Finally, Brighton City Airport is about 20 minutes away by train, 40 minutes by bus.

We live in a quiet area. There is some traffic but it's a 20mph zone so generally quiet. The back of the house is extremely quiet. Occasionally, as nowhere in Brighton is far from a pub, there is street noise late on a Friday or Saturday night - this is only noticeable from the main bedroom but is rarely anything do live in a city after all!

Our friendly and helpful management company 'Prostar Services' are based in the same street are will be expecting you. If you get stuck with day to day things, everyone in our terrace knows us and is very friendly, and the local shopkeepers will give you tips about the local area.
