Hop Cottage is one of two picturesque country cottages on the Landews Estate in the heart of Kent. Located down a country lane in the beautiful village of Challock, you enter Landews Estate via wrought iron gates, providing you with ultimate privacy. Before you even get to the private parking area you will have been greeted by the pheasants and rabbits which reside on the lane to the cottage door.

The cottage provides ample living space for your party all arranged on the ground floor, making it ideal for anyone with reduced mobility that cannot do stairs. Entering through the cottage door with the Wisteria above you come in to the entrance hall. To the right is the dining room with round wooden dining table (that can be extended to seat 8) with complimentary home baked cake for you on arrival. Through from the dining room is the newly refitted kitchen, providing electric cooker and hob, fridge, washing machine even a dishwasher and everything you will need to cook for your party. The kitchen and dining room look out on to the large conservatory which has a cane suite providing you with comfort in the long evenings looking out with uninterrupted views of the garden and beyond to Long Shave wood.

From the hall there are further doors to the large lounge with 2 settees (one a comfortable leather bed settee) and two arm chairs, and a TV with satellite. Further on through the lounge are bedrooms 2 and 3 and a shared family bathroom (with bath and toilet). Bedroom two can be arrange as one double bed or two twins. Bedroom 3 has a large single bed that can be extended out to make a double if required. Also from the hall you access the master bedroom with its sumptuous double bed and newly fitted en suite walk in shower room.

The cottage has central heating and hot water on demand. The private garden provides ample lawn space and patio table and chairs for al-fresco dinning.From the garden is a gate through the vegetable gardens (with season fresh produce) to the natural swimming lake.

Located in one of the most beautiful unspoilt and peaceful areas of mid Kent, Hop cottage provides an ideal base for anyone visiting Kent or London. The fields, woodlands and wildlife of the Landews Meadow estate provide the most beautiful location, with the benefit of your own swimming lake. From the cottage you can walk for miles in woodland carpeted with bluebells (in April and May), to enjoy the countryside, or just sit and enjoy the tranquility of the private gardens and lake.

Challock is centrally located between Ashford and Canterbury and Faversham and from this position in the heart of the county you are within easy reach of all of Kent's attractions. Leeds castles is described as the most beautiful Castle in the world and it is hard to disagree on a sunny summers day, it also has lots for the kids to do, adventure playground, maze and falconry, Dover and Heaver castle are also within easy reach for a day trip, Canterbury Cathedral or the charming Cinque port towns provide fresh sea air and fish markets, or you can visit the sandy beach at Dymchurch. Why not take the Romney Hythe and Dymchurch railway from Hythe to Dymchurch, your miniature scale steam train pulling you across the marsh (a real favourite with kids) .

The village of Challock has two pubs, one serving excellent food and the barn shop in the village provides fresh Kent produce 6 days a week. In the village of Challock and on your doorstep, other activities include, horse riding, cycling, gliding (the gliders fly right over the cottages providing a fantastic view of Kent) and the Beech Court Gardens and Tea rooms. For a trip to London, Ashford International station is only 6 miles away and the high speed link will have you in to St Pancras in 37 minutes, bookable in advance for as little as £19 per person.

You could not wish for a more beautiful centrally located base to either put your feet up and enjoy the tranquility or visit all that the Garden of England has to offer.

Spent a week at Hop cottage and highly recommend the property. Everything is new and spotlessly clean and all you need is provided. The grounds are lovely and it would be nice to go in the summer to appreciate the swimming lake and garden. There are many places to visit all within 30 mins drive and we would recommend the village pub for a good atmosphere and great food.

This is an excellent place to visit and rent. I stayed with my wife, father and mother-in-law. We would say it is suitable for family members of all ages. They all loved Hop Cottage, both the property and the space. For us....we had perfect weather.... which meant swimming amongst the lillies and bullrushes in the pond was a gorgeous experience. Nigel and Wendy, the owners, are very welcoming. They provided everything that we needed and we were able to use it as a venue to explore Kent. Several beaches are within 40 minutes drive. There are several local pubs who serve good food and the village shop stocks the things you forget. I have strongly recomment this venue to friends you will not be disappointed.
It felt like home from home from the moment we arrived, Nigel and Wendy were very helpful and made us feel welcome the moment we got here, wish we didnt have to go so soon I am sure we will be back. The cottage exceeded our expectations and dont think there is anything you could improve on, everything you could want is here
