Villa overview - owner's description

A beautiful detached four bedroom villa with a spacious living area, garden and a private 32 sq metre swimming pool

This beautiful detached four bedroom villa enjoys one of the most desirable locations in Altinkum. Just 5 minutes walk from a private beach with its own bar/restaurant.

Altinkum with its golden sandy beaches is on the south west coast of Turkey and hour and half from Bodrum.

This luxury villa was built in July 2005 and consists of a spacious open plan kitchen living area with large french doors that open onto the garden and a private 32 sq metre swimming pool, four double bedrooms - two with balconies, bathroom with Jacuzzi bath and two wet rooms.

The bedrooms are all large doubles with two of them having balconies, one in the turret (which is very unique) and one on the ground floor. This villa has character and is a very unique design,

There is a fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, fridge and cooker. The villa is also equipped with satellite TV, iron, ironing board, airier, hairdryer, towels, bedding and mirrors in all bedrooms.

The area is very peaceful and quiet but if you walk to the top of the street you can catch the minibus into Altinkum, which is a 5 minute bus ride away and is a large town with beaches, bars, restaurants and shops.

The villa is on a private estate that has its own private beach and bar restaurant. The area is peaceful with the added attraction of only being 10 minutes from Altinkum town giving you the best of both worlds

A car is not essential as there are various options for getting around. Firstly there is the private beach with bar/restaurant and is only a 2 minute walk away. The restaurant will deliver food to the villa if required. There is a dolmus (bus) that runs every 15 mins to Altinkum which is only 7 mins away, in Altinkum you will find everything from shops, restaurants, bars and night clubs.

ALTINKUM
ALTINKUM - The friendly beach resort of Altinkum is located on the north of the Bodrum Peninsula. The name of Altinkum translated means "Golden Sand" - what an appropriate name! There are 3 main beaches in the resort. They all slope gently and are very safe for families with children. The main beach curves round the beautiful Altinkum Bay creating two further beaches at either end of the town. You can lie and soak up the sun on a sunbed or stay cool under an umbrella, both of which are in plentiful supply and at a reasonable cost (2 sun beds with sun umbrella cost c£5.00). There are a wide variety of watersports located at the end of main beach including, Jet Skis, Water skiing, Windsurfing, Banana Boat Ride, and, for those who think that holidays should be at a more sedate pace, Pedalos. The quietest of the three beaches is "Third Beach" which offers a quieter environment and its waters are clear and sparkling.

SHOPS - The main resort shopping centre is Dolphin Square, near the centre of the resort front. There are also a large number of shops on the seafront. All the shops are open late at night when the area becomes its liveliest. This is your opportunity to pick up a real bargain, especially if you are good at haggling! If you fancy designer clothes but can't normally afford them then many good copy designer items are on sale. If you are looking for jewellery then you will find that the quality of the gold here is excellent with the prices much cheaper than in England.
When shopping for provisions, there are two main supermarkets -GIMA and MIGROS, which caters for most people's tastes, having a wide variety of well-known food, toiletries and kitchen goods. Gima is located between the seafront and the town centre and Migros at the start of the town centre.

RESTAURANTS – There is a great selection of restaurants to choose from in Altinkum - from fantastic Turkish dishes to traditional English food. However, most international cuisine is catered for here. Most prices are shown in Sterling and many restaurants and shops are happy to accept payment in Sterling. There are numerous bars where you can sit and just watch the world go by. If you fancy a boogie, there are several discos and in the height of the season the resort is very lively. You will find many bars serving snacks, all reasonably priced, throughout the day.
Most restaurants in Altinkum run a free pick up and drop off service if you are using their restaurant.

NIGHTLIFE - Altinkum literally comes to life between April and October with bars, pubs and clubs many of which are overlooking the sea. There is a variety of nightlife and entertainment to choose from ranging from lively bars, clubs to the quieter, relaxed restaurants and bars. the quieter ones are in one of the back strees with the livelier ones by the harbour or Dolphin Square.

PLACES TO VISIT
BODRUM CASTLE - Built by the Knights of Rhodes in the 15th century and dedicated to St. Peter, the castle took 99 years to be finished.

It is built on Zephyrion Island, the original site of the city of Halikarnassos. Stones from the Mausoleum of King Mausolos were used in its construction.

There are 5 towers in this castle, all of which have a name: French, English, Italian, German and Snake towers. The castle covers approximately 30,000 sq. meters.

PAMUKKALE -which is unique in the world with its cascading water from the cliffs forming, crystallized, dazzling white & Frozen Waterfalls.

The thermal waters have been used for therapeutic treatments since the Roman period. Enjoy the therapeutic hot spring waters.
Miletos

MILETOS - is one of the oldest cities of Ionia,The city was on the point where the Buyuk Menderes ("Meander") flew into the Aegean Sea. Because of the alluviums, Miletos has been remote several times from sea, which explains that one can see today different harbors.

Miletos was also the city of many scientists and philosophers such as Thales, Anaximander, Hekataios (principle source to Herodotos) and closer to us, Isidorus, the architect of Hagia Sophia in Istanbul. Miletos had its alphabet recognized by the Greek world as the official Greek alphabet, basis of the current Latin alphabet.

TEMPLE OF APPOLO - This is a marvellous site and was one of antiquity's most sacred places. Many times looted and burned, the colossal sanctuary still impresses with its elegant beauty surrounded by a double-colonnaded portico. Not far from the archaeological site is the beautiful beach of Altinkum. There are local dolmus’ up to temple of Apollo located in the heart of Ancient town Didyma every 15 minutes from Altinkum. If you like walking, Apollo temple of Didyma is approximately half an hours walk from Altinkum.

Had such a fantastic time, villa was absolutely fabulous. Beach, bar and restaurants all within a few minutes walk. Altinkum a 10 min bus ride away. The villa was excellent value for money and included all the mod cons including Sky TV, IPOD player, washing machine, microwave, linen and towels etc. We were looked after very well by the managing agent and nothing was too much bother. Am looking to book again next year. (Sept 2011)

Just a quick note to say how much I enjoyed my holiday in Altinkum. The villa was absolutely gorgeous and spotlessly clean. Can't speak highly enough of all the staff at the blue restaurant down the road, they were all so friendly and nothing was too much trouble. I'd recommend the villa to anyone.... just deciding when to book for next year !
Thanks again."

Fantastic holiday, one of the best and we have been on a few. The villa is fully furnished for all your needs and is on a quiet and relaxing estate, but close enough to local amenities and restaurants in Altinkum. The pool is fantastic. The owner of the bar/restaurant on site is friendly and inviting and will stay open as long as you want. We thoroughly recommend this villa, a fantastic holiday - Thanks

Great contact and communication with Jackie and James (owners) throughout the booking process. Private transfers were arranged to and from the airport for a small fee, which was payable to the driver on collecting from the airport. Erdi the key holder and transfer driver was very friendly and welcoming and assured us if we needed anything it would be no problem. This is a great villa with loads of space. It is excellently presented and very well equipped – it was a home from home with all the books DVDs etc provided. Little things like the pool inflatables were very thoughtful. The Turkish people are so friendly and helpful and even the local neighbours played Turkish music whilst sitting on their verandas eating their dinner at night. We could not have asked for anything more. It is an ideal location if you are looking for peace and quiet in Turkey, although the town and main beach are a 5 min bus ride away, the resturant/bar and beach on the estate were great. The clubs in town are great and are still open at 4am if you fancy clubbing till the early hours and they play faaaaaab music! We all had a relaxing and enjoyable holiday and would certainly recommend the villa to friends, as well as hoping to return ourselves another time. Thank-you for a wonderful stay.

What can I say?? Your villa is amazing!! We had a fantastic time. The villa really made it the most relaxing holiday ever. We have always gone Thomson Superfamily with the kids but they said they much preferred your place. Erin, our youngest, has never been brave enough to take her armbands off at hotels, for fear of someone jumping on her, however, in the privacy of your pool she did so within days and is now a very confident swimmer! The guys at Blue are lovely, especially young Adam, he was lovely. Erdie was a massive help too. He took us to a jewellers there and I got some new diamonds - always good!!
