Chalet overview - owner's description
Sakin Hayat Evleri are situated in Ecebeli, about 3km away from the centre of Yesiluzumlu. The location is truly idyllic, quiet and surrounded by beautiful pine forests.
Sakin Hayat' Evleri ('calm life cottages') are situated around 3km in Ecebeli on the outskirts of Yesil Uzuml village and approximately 30km from the bustling harbour market town of Fethiye and popular beach resort of Calis. The location is truly idyllic, a little haven surrounded by pine forests where you can escape the hustle and bustle of a busy life and experience the healing powers of nature. Close by is the ancient Lycian site of Cadianda easily accessible by a designated walking path (approximately 2,5km) from the village center or by car where the drive up offers some spectacular views of the valley. Its a beautiful shady walk, the site is well preserved and definitely worth a visit.
For keen walkers and cyclists the neighbouring villages of Incirkoy, Kizibel and Nif are no less interesting and can be explored at leisure.
A total of three buildings. Two buildings each have four one bedroom chalets, a total of eight. Each chalet benefits from a private entrance, private terrace with open plan fitted kitchen & lounge with sliding patio doors, one double bedroom with en-suite bathroom and walk in shower. The chalets are self-catering and there is also a large 'communal' kitchen and lounge with wood-burner (for winter nights) in the third building which everyone is free to use. The idea is to offer everyone the chance to show off their culinary skills – but only if they want to of course – and for others to help in the preparation contributing only to the cost of the food – all very relaxed! Our wish is to create a warm, inviting and enjoyable atmosphere for everyone during their stay at Sakin Hayat!
Ideal for workshops of every kind: cooking, ceramic, wine making, painting etc. As well as yoga retreats and offers a beautiful and unique setting for small intimate weddings.
The natural bathing pool, one of the first of its kind in the area has a separate regeneration zone with small waterfall feature. Specific plants and lava rocks have been chosen to filter and oxygenate the water keeping it clean providing a much healthier alternative to chlorinated swimming pools.
We have an organic vegetable garden as well as a variety of fruit trees which everyone is free to use and enjoy. An abundance of plants and shrubs set among meandering pathways provide a profusion of colour year round.
Uzumlu village is a quaint little place with a population of approximately 3,500 people. Scattered around the village square are a variety of small tea houses and restaurants. The delicious home-made wine is well known and produced from grapes which have been cultivated in the area for centuries. As well as a small weekly market there are a number of village shops supplying just about everything you may need. Dastar’ or shawl weaving is a tradition unique to the area with a number of working looms and small shops selling their weaves. Every year Uzumlu hosts a 3 day mushroom festival which is a super event, a chance for everyone to come together to sample the mushroom delicacies as well as enjoy plenty of organised entertainment. The festival is normally hosted at the end of April, beginning of May when the mushrooms are harvested. Where possible its an event not to missed!
Fethiye is easily accessible with a regular bus service departing in the summer time. A pleasant journey taking just over 30 minutes.
The idea behind Sakin Hayat is one of well-being, a place of rest and relaxation. A chance to enjoy life at a slower pace and remind ourselves of the unique healing power of nature and the stillness it creates within us when we choose to live in harmony.
We look forward to welcoming you!
