Large Child-Friendly Vacation Villa Latona

Overview

Pass through the entrance hall to an archway that leads into a fully equipped kitchen with all the facilities to cater for up to thirteen people. These include oven/hob, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, fridge/freezer, kettle, toaster, coffee makers, blender, scales and all the necessary cutlery, crockery and pans. There is a selection of cutlery and crockery for little children together with a microwave sterilizer. Adjoining the kitchen is a dining area with seating for seven; a patio door leads to another terrace dining area that seats another six. There are both charcoal and gas BBQs which makes the terrace an ideal alfresco dining area with outstanding views.

Another archway leads from the entrance hall into the well furnished main lounge which has a wood-burning open fire and will seat seven on leather sofas. There is a Satellite TV and a DVD/CD player with a library of films and music. Patio doors lead out from the lounge to a furnished area with lovely views from the veranda and then round to the poolside terrace. A local mobile telephone is provided together with wi-fi internet.

A separate second lounge has a double sofa-bed that seats three and there is a stereo music system that plays CDs, receives FM radio and has an iPod dock. A PlayStation 2 is provided with many games and there is a selection of board games together with children’s books. This lounge has access to the poolside terrace and is close to the ground floor toilet and shower room.

The main entrance stairs break off to the Games Terrace which has a dartboard, quoits and table football with a basketball hoop in the nearby front garden. Also in the front garden there is a large raised Turkish Kösk which is fully cushioned with a slatted roof and is an ideal place to relax and watch the children playing.

Villa Latona has three levels with the five bedrooms located on the top two floors. From the entrance hall you walk up a marble staircase to the first floor which has three bedrooms and a toilet and shower room. The master double bedroom has an en-suite toilet and shower and has a sun terrace with amazing views across the Uzumlu plateau. There is another twin bedroom with a sun terrace facing the plateau and at the rear is another double bedroom with a sun terrace facing the pine forests and the mountainside.

Climb another marble staircase to the top floor with two bedrooms and a family bathroom with shower, toilet and a bath. The family size bedroom has a double bed, a single bed and a cot with a large secluded sun terrace with a lovely view across the plateau towards the distant mountains. The other room has two single beds and overlooks the rear garden. In addition to the eleven people who can be accommodated in the main bedrooms the second lounge has a double sofa-bed and is close to the ground floor toilet and shower room.

All the bedrooms are air-conditioned and have locally made stylish furniture with a wardrobe, chest of drawers and bedside cupboards and the sun terraces have plastic tables and chairs. Two hairdryers, iron & ironing board, baby booster chair, high chair, travel cot, bed rails and a secure safe are provided. All the bed linens and towels are supplied and changed during the weekly clean. To cater for infants and toddlers we provide a baby alarm, food blender, microwave sterilizer, potty set, changing mat and a selection of toys, games and pool accessories – a gated fence limits access to the pool area.

RECOMMENDED LOCAL AREAS TO VISIT
Travelling from the villas to the many attractions around the area is easy and fairly relaxing. Hiring a car or minibus is recommended and is fairly cheap and allows you complete freedom. Contrary to the perceived views of driving in Turkey it is pretty safe, traffic density is low and driving attitudes are peaceful and fairly predictable, albeit that there is frequent use of the horn. Alternatively there is a very efficient Dolmus minibus service which covers all the local area at low prices. Above the Dolmus level are inter-city bus services that use modern air-conditioned coaches, again at low prices. Also if you book local boat tours or visits to out of town attractions, many of the tour operators will pick you up and return you to the villa. An easy and pleasant way to reach Fethiye from the villa is to drive to Calis and then use the water taxis for a relaxing 30 minute trip with great views of Fethiye harbour.

THE FETHIYE AREA for boat trips around the bay, either during the day or to see the sunset, which are good value including a meal. Alternatively you can rent a boat exclusively for your party at the Calis water taxi depot. Do visit the renowned Tuesday Market and also the Turkish Baths in Fethiye Old Town to pamper yourself with a bath and a massage. While near Calis the kids will enjoy a visit to Sultan’s Aquapark and to Ege Karting and you also have a 5km beach and many restaurants. Check the Map of Fethiye.

GO TO THE OLU DENIZ AREA for the beaches at the Blue Lagoon and for the many restaurants - maybe try paragliding off nearby Babadag mountain. Regular boats run from Olu Deniz beach to Butterfly Valley which is filled with butterflies in mid-summer. Nearby Kaya Koy is a deserted village preserved after the population exchanges – just drive through Hisaronu and follow the signs.

VISIT THE PATARA AREA and pass the Roman/Lycian ruins to reach a stunning 20km sandy beach. Later continue to Kalkan which is a picturesque town with many excellent restaurants. Nearby Saklikent Gorge has fabulous views, water rafting, mud baths and a good restaurant. Tlos Yakapark has a trout farm with an interesting restaurant and is close to the historical sites of Tlos and Xanthos.

GOCEK is a 40 minute drive from the villas towards Dalaman Airport and is a beautiful town with a popular upmarket marina. On the way stop at secluded Katranci Beach for beautiful views with a walkway joining two inlets and the basic facilities include a water slide.

FOR LONGER TRIPS visit Rhodes on a day return ferry from Fethiye harbour for around £60. Also well worth seeing is Ephesus and Pamukkale on a 2 day bus tour or just visit Pamukkale on a day trip. For mud baths and to watch Caretta Turtles take a day trip to Dalyan and also see the Lycian tombs at Kaunos and Iztuzu Beach. Surrounding the area there at least eight lakes that are particularly attractive for both fishing and bird watching and full directions are provided in the villa.

Mark Hassall - Birmingham - 11 people for 2 weeks to 19/8/2013. We really enjoyed our holiday in Villa Latona. Overall, we were really pleased with the villa and would consider booking again in the future as we really loved the beautiful views and the village of Uzumlu. We would definitely have a car for the full holiday though as it was a long walk to the village. Paul was really helpful and was always there if we needed him and the pool was well maintained.

“Great Location, awesome accomodation” Reviewed 26 September 2011 Booked this villa and "its sister" villa for our Sons 18th Birthday/large family holiday. An amazing two weeks. Both villas are in immaculate condition and well serviced, by the local agent. Stunning views from its lofty mountain position, situated among st a number of similar properties. Large pool and sun terrace with more than enough numbers of sun loungers and chairs. The perfect venue for a relaxing time but also well located if you wish to visit the numerous local attractions by vehicle. A vehicle is a must and this was arranged by the owner using a local company, once again a top service was provided at a more than reasonable price. The village of Uzumlu is a very pleasant traditional Turkish Village with a number of good quality, cheap places to eat and drink. In particular we made good use of the Grape Garden and the Wine House. As mentioned the owner arranged a hire vehicle for us, in addition he arranged multiple collections to and from Dalaman Airport, as several of our party arrived on different days, all of this ran smoothly . Would recommend this property and its sister villa without hesitation.
