Villa overview - owner's description

One of the best private villas in town with a great swimming pool, panoramic sea views of the aegean islands and all close to beach and all amenities.

Centrally located, approximately a 10 minute stroll to main shopping area, beach, marina and centre of Turgutreis. The property is wonderfully located in a quiet resdential area, but is ideally located for families and others to stroll to all amenities. The roof terrace offers a breathtaking view of the famous Turkish sunset, especially whilst having supper.
The town of Turgutreis is situated at the furthest tip of the historic Bodrum peninsula with the most beautiful sunsets overlooking a horizon of ornamental islands. It is very easy to travel around the Bodrum peninsula either by car or on the regular Dolmus (bus) service. During the high season the service is available until 2 a.m. and in the low season until 12 a.m.

The Villa
The villa is one of two villas built in enclosed private plot, with surrounding gardens. The villa is one minute walk to local shops where you can get all household basics. Just over 5 mins walk away there is a large local supermarket for the rest of the shopping.
The villa is furnished to a very high standard, benefitting from a large open plan living room / kitchen area, 3 bedrooms (sleeps 6) - one double bed, and 2 twin bed rooms, with 2 generous bathrooms with showers.
1 double sofa bed is available in the kitchen / living room, a travel cot and high chair are available ,The kitchen is fully equipped with all cooking utensils and has a fridge freezer, washing machine, Cold water dispensing machine, hob microwave, Senseo coffee maker (bring own coffee bags)kettle and toaster.

Outside the Villa
There is a relatively large private swimming pool shared between the two villas, and the beach, restaurants, bars and shops are just a short distance away

The town of Turgutreis is situated at the furthest tip of the historic Bodrum Peninsula with fantastic sunsets overlooking a view of ornamental islands on the horizon. Named after the famous admiral, Turgutreis, this is a stroll town in its own right and combines a compact town centre with several long sandy beaches. Wind surfers favour this part of the coast, as the winds are generally stronger.

The Bodrum Peninsula is small and it is very easy to travel to all the other small towns. For those who are adventurous the area has an excellent bus service called dolmus. These are new reliable mini- buses and offer services all day to Gumusluk and Bodrum with connections to all other towns often for less than a pound.
Gumusluk, a favourite peninsula village, is close by. Its position on the site of the ancient city of Myndos has ensured that no large scale development has been allowed. Gumusluk is a fine place for snorkelling, in the calm waters of the sheltered bay. Various sunken ruins can be found here and there is a causeway, sometimes above water, sometimes below, to Rabbit Island where almost tame rabbits run around. To one side of the headland is a sandy beach with beach side restaurants and sun beds and a short walk through the little lanes with craft stalls and grocery shops will bring you to the other side where the famous fish restaurants, with their tempting displays of locally caught fish, are perched right on the shoreline. A small Byzantine church above the beach is now a cultural centre with a regular programme of concerts and exhibitions.
No other area on the Turkish Aegean coast provides the visitor with the opportunity to experience traditional Turkish life only a few minutes away from the hustle and bustle of a modern tourist centre. One of the unique features of Bodrum as a holiday resort is the combination of daytime activities, tranquil bays, beaches & villages to enjoy and the Bodrum nightlife.

Further Information
Ephesus is the best-preserved classical city on the Mediterranean, and perhaps the best place in the world to get the feeling for what life was like in Roman times. As a strategic coastal gateway to the Eastern World, this Ionian refuge grew to be the second largest city in the Roman Empire. Legend has it that the Virgin Mary, accompanied by St. Paul, came to Ephesus at the end of her life, circa 37-45 AD. In 1967 Pope Paul VI visited the site, where a chapel now stands, and confirmed the authenticity of the legend. Also the Basilica of St. John is located near Ephesus. St. John is said to have lived the last years of his life here and after his death, a shrine was located over his grave.

Family from Bristol, United Kingdom Sep 2015

The location was as advertised, however the villa was dirty, with broken ceiling light fittings, a broken freezer, showers that didn't drain, light bulbs missing and broken, dirty furniture. There was food left in the freezer and dirty razors left on the shower fittings. The cupboards were filthy. Photos available. The villa desperately needs care and attention. Shared pool was lovely as the adjoining villa had taken responsibility for the cleanliness of the area.

From Ely, United Kingdom Jun 2009

The reason we did not rate the villa as Excellent, was due to minor advert said that the villa had air-con and it did not,but we managed.Due to miss communicationOtherwise very pleased with the Area and outlay of the property.
The facilities within the villa were of very High standards-everything we needed was to hand. The only negative was,Not enough waldrobe space for the number of people that stayed-so needs to be address. There were minor problem like, leak to sink and the shower.
These were all addressed,with ease.

Finally, the positives. The Pool was Great, the surrounding were breath-taking and the Gardener was very freindly.Great time had by All.We loved the villa and recommend to anyone looking for a relaxed and fun time.

From Stockport, United Kingdom Jun 2009

The property is excellent value for money.
The pool was brilliant and so was the Barbecue.
The washing machine did smell a little but the smell did go after a few washes.

The villa was situated about a 10-15 minute walk from the centre of the resort.

We really enjoyed ourselves and the villa was very cheap but had everything we needed.

I stayed in the villa last year, with my family, and I had a fabulous time over the two weeks. The villa is very spacious, and cool in the evenings. The property is very well located within the resort, and easy access to all facilities. The upper terrace overlooking the Aegean sea was marvellous to sit and have supper and watch that special Turkish sunset. I plan to go book the villa again this year
