We found this villa to be maintained to a very high standard and the service offered from the owner and maintenance staff was outstanding. We never felt out of touch. The location was away from the busy areas, hence peaceful and quiet yet at the same time nested just behind the main motorway for easy access. And the main resorts begin just the other side of the motorway. The swimming pool and provided patio furniture complement the size of the villa so theres plenty of space for large groups to enjoy the pool/area together. The garden is well maintained and includes all manner of fruit trees. Inside the villa, the AC units work perfectly for those hot sticky days. All rooms are very well kept and above acceptable in size. The good sized balconies attached to the rooms offer a nice additional touch should one not want to venture downstairs to enjoy the sun. The bath/shower rooms are also well maintained with good water pressure and easy access for anyone with limited mobility. This villa is perfect for those who want to be around the main resorts yet in a peaceful, quiet and discreet location. I thank the villa owners and management for accommodating me and my family. Wajeeh and family.

This is an excellent property with all rooms spacious and well decorated. The location is good for touring the area, quiet but with easy access to the main road. We found the presence of 10 CCTV cameras linked to a multi-channel recorder intrusive. Particularly the camera covering the living area. The high intensity security lights meant that all rooms were floodlit throughout the night and, for us, interfered with sleep. I think the management had an off time while we stayed. We waited half an hour by the road waiting for the rep. He suggested we could shop before going to the villa. We should have done. There was no welcome pack and the kitchen had none of the normal consumables e.g. salt, pepper, washing up liquid etc. On the 9th day I rang to request the ‘weekly’ linen change. Strangely there was no information pack or book for guest comments. This is one of the best villas I have stayed at and if you are not disturbed by the security and now know the need for a comprehensive shop then this can be a good base in the area.
Owner reply:

Thank you for your wonderful review. The villa is an excellent holiday retreat and I pride myself in being able to offer an outstanding property in such a wonderful location. It is my ambition to make every guests stay the best possible and I am easily contactable to answer any questions or resolve any issues. I as the villa represents a significant investment the villa is covered by CCTV, however these are only in operation when the property is vacant. The local handyman is instructed to turn these off when guests arrive, thereby protecting my customers privacy. The outside lighting is important for guests returning after dark to avoid any accidents and is there for your safety. It is controlled by a timer which can now be changed on request. A welcome pack can be ordered through the booking website which is payable locally. As this had not been ordered our local representative suggested that it may be useful to do a shop before going to the villa and delayed his arrival to allow time for this. There are 3 small supermarkets, a restaurant and an excellent butchers at the meeting point which is perfect for stocking the villa. The local representative is sorry that you had to chase him for the linen change and we have put in place a reminder system to avoid this in the future. Having returned from my end of season visit I was disappointed to discover that the comprehensive information pack is missing from the villa and I will of course replace this for the new season. It would also appear that the china salt and pepper pots are missing and I assume that these have been broken sometime during the summer, these have now been replaced. Please be assured that I take all comments on board and use these to further enhance future guests experience at this wonderful villa. I can be contacted during a guests stay by phone, text and email and remain committed to delivering a very high level of service and holiday experience. I would be delighted to welcome you again in the future.

We rented the Villa Kaplumba end Aug 2014. Party of 9!! The villa lived up to our expectations, and we had a great holiday during our stay at the villa. The management team were very friendly and helpful. The villa is very large and nicely kept. Air-condition in all rooms. All rooms large and nice. Very comfortable beds. The kitchen was fully supplied, with all you need to cook and prepare. A very nice sized pool area. There is even a small kids pool (very small 1*1 meter). There’s a few small supermarkets and a good gym aprox 2 km from the house.Due to the location a hire vehicle is a must. we had the most fantastic week at this villa, and can highly recommend the villa, hopefully visit again very soon. Sue the owner was also great with any concerns we had.

In the period of 29. July to 5. Aug 2014, did we rent the Villa Kaplumba. One Family of two adults and five teenage children. The villa lived 100% up to our expectations, and we had the most amazing vacation during our stay at the villa. Everything were perfect, from the early planning, and booking of the villa. The correspondence with the owner, Sue, who were very helpful in all regards, from answering our questions, to helping us with advice of, where to rent a large car suitable for a family of 7 persons (a car is necessary due to location of the villa). The villa is very large and nicely kept. Exactly as we expected from the pictures. Air-condition in all rooms. All rooms large and nice. Very comfortable beds. Extra lined available. The kitchen was fully supplied, with all you need to cook and prepare. There were a lot of glasses and a good dishwasher. In the living room there were games and movies to free use. Lots of space. The outdoor areas are very nice too. There’s a barbecue, nice green trees, no grass, but a very nice sized pool surrounded by a pretty big pool area. The balcony provides plenty of shade, during the day, when the sun is warmest, if you don’t prefer to lay on one of the many sunbeds. The pool is 1,6 m deep. There is even a small kidspool (very small 1*1 meter). The villa location of the Villa Kaplumba very perfect for us. No next door neighbors, thus we could play in the pool at any time of the day/night, and still be private. There’s a few small supermarkeds aprox 2 km from the house. There’s a very nice beach 10 minutes drive from the house. All in all….we had the most fantastic week at this villa, and can highly recommend the villa. Thank you Sue ?

We would like to thank sue and mike for all their help and support. They were very very easy to talk to and helped us a lot in our villa rental and car hire too. The staff there were also very helpful throughout our stay. The villa is very clean and it was the perfect size for out family of 6- with an additional empty bedroom downstairs! The highlight would have to be the pool.. Being a family with young children- we all looked forward to our daily swim and play in the pool- its a very good size and after the initial chill of jumping in- it was brilliant.. It was very important for us to have a good size pool that was not overlooked and this villa was perfect for that! We look forward to going to side again and staying at the villa. Thanks again mike and sue!

We have just returned from a lovely family holiday (3 generations )spent at villa Kaplumba. The villa is as beautiful as it looks in the photos and was all we were hoping for.The location is perfect and peaceful although we found that a car is essential as food shopping would be impossible without and to get to Kumkoy for the beach and restaurants would also be impossible. The villa is very well equipped and we found everything we needed was provided.

My family and I had a fantastic time staying in Villa Kaplumba earlier in the summer. Lots of space with very good sized bedrooms. The openplan living area is great if you have a large group of people with a very large dinning table. Kitchen is fully-equiped and the most used item was the orange press - as we were able to go and buy fresh oranges from the local farmer (straight from the tree) and had fresh orange juice for breakfast everyday. The owner very helpfully arranged for internet access and there is a selec tion of DVDs and books in the villa. Excellent swimming pool which was kept clean and a nice childrens pool which our son spent the best part of two weeks in. The garden has lots of plants and flowers and so not really any space to play any ball games unless you play by the pool (though the tiles can become a bit slippery when wet). All in all, a fantastic stay which offered peace and quiet in the hills behind everenski (with the benefit of being a five minute drive to the beach). Also, check out the local market on a wednesday it is very good.

We all thought the property was in excellent condition, well equipped, and clean. The pool was wonderful, and it was regularly inspected and serviced while we were there. Not a criticism, but may be useful for future occupants: 1. A toaster would be a useful addition to the kitchen. 2. Instructions on what to do if the gas runs out would be very helpful. Thanks to the owners for a great holiday. Steven Straw and family.

Have just returned from our holiday at Villa Kaplumba and have had a fantastic time. The villa is in a secluded location in the hills behind Side/Kumkoy and the views out to the hills and mountains in the distance are splendid. You get a good feel for the real Turkey as you drive from the arches at Illica up to the villa with locals going about their daily routines. We hired a car at Antalya airport and arrived late but the agent was waiting for us at the meeting point and took us up to the villa - although it was about 11pm, we were able to pick up a few supplies iin the small grocery shop at the meeting point but a basic welcome pack is also provided at the villa. The villa itself is spacious and well laid out and very well equipped - we had everything we needed for our two week stay. Inside, the air conditioning was a godsend in the August heat and outside, the pool was always inviting and provided the perfect way to cool down! We couldnt have asked for more. Side has everything you could want in terms of shops and places to eat as well as architectural ruins and a very pretty harbour/beach but you are also near enough to other tourist hot spots such as Manavgat Waterfall and we even managed to find a water park at Antalya (Aqualand at Beach Park) which wasnt too crowded and appealed to the younger members of our party (teenagers). We found a car to be essential in giving us the freedom to come and go as we pleased - I dont think I would have wanted to walk along the very dark roads back to the villa in the August heat (85 degrees even at 11pm!). The food in the restaurants was generally very good and we even managed to order takeaways (which were delivered) on a couple of occasions from Umuts Restaurant in Side (menu at the villa). It took about an hour to arrive but there were 7 of us and we did place a large order of starters and main courses! There is market in Side on Saturdays opposite the mosque, close to the large Turkish flag at the entrance to the old town which is worth a visit. The agent was very helpful and offered assistance without intruding and popped us to see us a couple of times to make sure everything was OK. All in all, we had the most fantastic holiday and I would have no hesitation in recommending this villa.

villa kaplumba- kaplumba being the terkish word for turtle ticked all of our boxes,we even saw a turtle in the villas beautiful garden. the villa is very spacious, beautiful and extremely well equipped.really homely. there is an abbundance of towels and bedding and the kitchen has everything you would have in your own home, from cellotape to a cheese grater. it would have been nice for there to have been some plastic cups and plates to use around the pool, especially for the children, just for piece of mind, but we managed perfectly without. the pool area is lovly, though,as with all pool areas, can get slippery when wet. the pool is larger than any pool villa we have stayed in before, and we liked the idea of keeping the pool all one depth. the journey from tha airport gave us the impression that the villa is way out in the middle of nowhere, and we thought we may have to hire a car,but after venturing out on foot, toward ilicia, (about a 15 min walk) we came across the dolmus that takes you directly into manavgat.these pass by around evry 15 mins perfect! there,we found the supermarkets are much better supplied and loads cheaper than migros. we also took the dolmus into side where there is lots to do, so we didnt need a car atall, and it was a delight to walk along the country roads, into the local villages, passing everything from the very friendly locals to cows and turtles. even our two boys looked forward to our evening strolls, though, do make sure you are back before dark as there isnt much road lighting. (we took the provided torch with us just incase). if you are planning a few lazy days by the pool,or evenings in then you may want to take some cds with you as the radio is turkish. the villa has some good dvds which is good as the tv isnt connected to cable, but who goes to turkey to watch tv!!? on our lazy days, we had great fun playing twister and the other games provided. the agency guys were amazing and couldnt do enough to help us, without invading our space which was really nice. overall this villa is by far the best we have ever steyed in. the location is tranquil and the views breathtaking. we love turkey and staying in this adorable villa was the icing on the cake of our holiday. totally didnt want to leave, and cant wait to go back.

We had a great time during our stay at the villa. It is very spacious and has good furniture. Having three bathrooms (one en-suite) is a real boon. The pool is lovely, the kids spent a lot of their time in it! Its in a quiet position, about a mile from the village centre. Views to the mountains in the north are great, Side is just a few minutes away by car, with its spectacular Temple of Apollo and extensive ruins. Less than half an hour gets you to Aspendos (fabulous Roman theatre, etc), or Perge (entire Roman town) Google them, lots of photos on Google Maps. The locals are freindly, expecially if you try a bit of Turkish. Its well worth learning a few basic phrases. In Side many of the shopkeepers speak English and German and some Russian. Hire cars can be had really cheaply, and are essential if you want to do any sightseeing. Its well worth bargaining over the price of just about everything we got a white water rafting trip, inclusing transport from the villa, for TL25 per head (£11). n.b. You MUST do this!

The property is very good value for money, the location is ideal for family fun or peacful relaxation. The kids loved the pool and the accommodation is clean and cool with lovely bathrooms. You will not find the fantastic views any where else.
The property is in a lonely and in quiet location, with amazing views. Its very easy to get to sandy beach and to lively areas, like Side. The villa itself was very clean, bright and spacious, and is very well equipped. We had a wonderful and relaxing time there.
This was just perfect for us and was the icing on the cake for a fabulous trip. A well equipped property and very comfortable. Spent hours by the pool - very tranquil. If I had to suggest one area for improvement, it would be the addition of air con into bedrooms 3 & 4 as it was very hot. Mete and his team were very helpful and the whole thing went like clockwork - thanks for everything Sue
Owner reply:

Thank you so much for your positive feed back. We have taken on board your suggestion for Air con in bedrooms 3 and 4 and are pleased to announce that 2 additional units have now been installed.

There were only two of us and we only went for a long weekend. We chose this villa because it was the only one we could get at such short notice that looked good enough! It was much bigger than we needed, though of course such extra space just added t the sense of luxury. The owner very kindly altered the booking arrangements to allow us to have a short stay as it fitted a space in their agenda. Theres never any harm in asking politely! ) The secluded location of the villa was wonderful, just what we wanted for a relaxing long weekend away from everything. You do however need a car to get anywhere and, whilst the agency that looked after us were extremely kind and helpful, car hire was the same price as in UK if not more. We actually had a dusty old jeep, which Western value for money was terrible but Turkish value for sun fun was excellent! :) Inside the villa was all we needed for a long weekend for two, plus lots more. Take your own CDs, DVDs etc. (bigger TV screen would be nice). One thing missing is the Internet, something to be aware of if you are going for any length of time. These are more longer stay family requirements though and didnt bother us. We went at probably the hottest time of the year and the air con was excellent so no sleepless nights, though it is only available in 2 of the 4 bedrooms. Overall we really, really enjoyed our stay, it was just what we needed.
Having booked the villa well in advance of our holiday we finally arrived for our vacation mid-July 2010. We were very pleased with the firendly, flexible and responsive service from the owner of the villa during the booking process as well as further requests for information/assitance sent after the villa has been paid for - thank you. This was our third trip to Turkey. Last year we were in Dalaman where we had also rented a villa so were able to compare and contrast the accommodation, services and location well. The location of Kaplumba is excellent with good views over the landscape. It is worth noting that there is a graveyard directly across the villa at a distance of about 100-150 meters on a small hill and although we felt slightly uncomfortable with this for the first couple of days we were quite used to it afterwards. It is not busy at all and the children even decided to take a walk upto it to get a better view of the villa. The villa itself is in a totally private location next to mountain and not overlooked by any other properties. There are no properties at either side of the villa and the two from across the villa are too far our to cause any issues with privacy. Because of the rural location of the property it would have spoilt our holiday if we did not have access to a car. Although you can get a bus from nearby about a 15 minute walk and then a wait for the bus I would not advise it for anyone with young children. Actually, I would not want to do it myself in 32 degrees during the day!! I would also recommend asking the owner to arrange the car rental for you as my experience is that local companies are very unreliable. I had initially booked a car through Cizgi car rental and despite confirming the booking via email and in a telephone conversation they sent an email 2 days before my holiday to say that they could not provide me the car requested and refused to provide an alternative either. If it was not for the owners assistance we would have ended up without a car. On arrival at Antalya airport we were received by a the local agent however this person was not the one that we were told to expect. We also arrived late the in evening so by the time we got to the villa it was about 10:30-11:00pm. From past experience I knew that we would need to arrange for a bite to eat so had requested the owner to let us know of a local restaurant that would deliver to us. However, when we asked the driver to order for us he basically said that it was too late for this. Hence, we found ourselves in a position where we had nothing to eat for the night except the basic provisions provided as part of the welcome pack. We had a similar problem in the morning for breakfast. We tried ordering breakfast from the recommended restaurant but they denied all knowledge of the location of the villa and it was only after several calls to the local agent asking them to contact the restaurant that breakfast was delivered at around noon!! The accommodation itself was well equipped with all the necessary items. There was no toaster available in the villa and the agents could not find one in the shops when we requested one!! Note that 2 out of the 4 bedrooms are not airconditioned and were like a furnace throughout our holiday. We had to make do with 2 rooms with the children sharing rooms. Although we managed and it was more fun for the kids I probably would not have booked this accommodation if I had known about this. In the end it worked out okay so I have no complaints. The swimming pool is great and is maintained regularly by a visit every 2 days from a local service company who clean the pool as and when needed and also add what I presume was chlorine. The small garden and plants are maintained by a gardner. The villa was cleaned on day 7 of our 14 day holiday which was much appreciated. Plastics plates and glasses were available for use near the pool side which again was very useful. The lounge and hall has split aircon units which were great. A small selec tion of DVDs were available including Charlie and the Chocolate factory that my two young boys watched at least 2 dozen times!! It would be worth providing more information on local activities. For example, we visited the Manavgat Dam which was worthwhile but I only found out about it by accident. There is a great picnic spot close to the dam that the chidren enjoyed thoroughly. Also, we found a place located on the way to the dam past the waterfall that serves great breakfast next to a flowing river. Superb location and food at the same time. We visited the 3 main waterfalls and would not recommend the Duden waterfall as it is too crowded and commercialized. Even Manavgat was busy but worth a visit as it is closest to the villa. All in all a great vacation and my sincere thanks to the owner for making things easy for us by being responsive and accommodating. My other recommendation would be for the local agents to make contact more regularly if only to ask if everything is okay. They should also be more helpful in providing advice and information on what to do locally. The only help I received was from the information that the owner had provided, exploring the area and using guide books. Local knowledge however goes a long way to provide information on locations that are off the beaten track but this unfortunately was not forthcoming.
We were very impressed with Villa Kaplumba. It was clean, modern, bright and spacious. Everything worked and the assistance from the Letting Agency was excellent fully supportive without getting in your way. They could not have been more helpful. Only one minor point, it would have been useful to have had a cleaner in at the 7 day point. Apart from that we were more than satisfied and would certainly recommend it to others. It has an excellent view over the rural countryside, with the hills in the background, it is very quiet with no noisy neighbours but only 5-10 drive from the shops. You need a car if you are to move from the villa. There are some very interesting attractions but you must be willing to travel.
