Villa overview - owner's description

This lovely locally owned stone built house has a covered shady verandah area surrounded by gardens and with panoramic views of historic ruins, plan clad hills and mountains beyond.

The pool is a large size and well maintained with a large Turkish cushioned seating area at one end under the trees, very romantic!

There is a large open plan kitchen dining and living area, with good facilities and a bathroom shared by the two bedrooms.

It is an excellent family property also suitable for couples.

There is a great restaurant just 5 minutes stroll across the field, a market for supplies a bit further on and the main road of the Village which is serviced by a local minibus the 'dolmus' going to Fethiye town, all resorts and beaches and tourist sites so car hire is not essential.

The area has everything to please all types of holidaymakers. Sun, sea, walking, forests, historic sites, crafts, culture and great food and fresh produce.

Kaya Village is located just 8km from the harbour Town of Fethiye in Southwest Turkey where the Mediterranean and Agean Oceans meet. The beautiful coastline is referred to as 'The Turquoise Coast' .The iconic Oludeniz beach is 10km drive. The quieter Gemiler Beach bay is just 5km away and both are accessible by local bus. The Lycian/Roman fortress ruins of Tlos and the stunning Saklikent Gorge are within 1 hours drive from Fethiye and are worth a visit as well as other historical sites, beaches, beauty spots and museums.

Kaya is 1 hour drive from Dalaman Airport and 3-4hrs from Antalya airport.

Kaya Village has a wonderful selection of Restaurants ranging from upmarket Wine Houses to small family run locals where Turkish Village cuisine can be sampled. The Village itself is in the Kaya Valley, a flat area surrounded by mountains, natural pine forest and unspoilt beaches. Nearby Fethiye town has a big open Market day, an old bazaar type shopping area, marina and even a Roman theatre!

Just returned from Ozlem Evi after 2 weeks of complete rest and relaxation. Apart from a few trips to Hisoranu for shopping and a walk through the ghost village and down to Cold Water Beach, we pretty much spent the entire time bobbing around the pool on lilo's during the day, and sitting on the veranda in the evenings watching the sun set over the old ruins which are on the doorstep of this lovely villa.

Cetin, the owner comes every morning to tend to the pool and water the gardens. He kept us supplied with fresh tomatoes, cucumbers, chilli's and a water melon. He also owns the local food market where you can buy most things you need, just a 5 minute walk from the villa.

Plenty of wildlife around, Bob the Dragonfly who will land on your finger when you're in the pool. Bumpy the cat who was partial to a small bowl of milk and some cat treats. Cetin's dog is beautiful, we brought him down to the villa for half and hour in the evenings. There's also a tortoise who you will smell before you see. Husband was stung by a bee one morning - if this happens to you, snap the leaf off a fig tree and apply the sap from the stem - works a treat!

Didn't eat out much but can recommend Istanbul for music night on Thursdays - 60tl per head, so much meze and BBQ food and great live band, brilliant night. We also ate at Izela's for my birthday, slightly dearer than the other restaurants in Kaya but well worth it, best Calamari and Steak we've ever had and only a 2 minute walk from the villa.

We really hope to be able to come back next year. Thanks to Cetin and his family for being the perfect hosts and to Clare who made sure we were ok the whole time we were there. Hope to see you in 2018!

We had a lovely stay at Ozlem Evi. The garden and space around the house is fantastic, spacious and beautiful, with views of the old village and the mountains. The pool was clean and lovely and we really enjoyed the comfy seating area in the garden for lazy breakfasts. The owners of the house were helpful and friendly and Claire who helps manage the property was really helpful and friendly. The house itself is fairly small and simple but has everything you need and is comfortable. We had a great time and would highly recommend the property to others.

Many more additional 5 stars for comfort, ambience, tranquility, and more. Ozlem Evi is a paradise, an oasis, a super relaxing retreat for escaping all the stresses and tasks of every day life. Naps on the outdoor divan, strategically placed under leafy boughs, were reinvigorating and the pool was luscious. The natural setting with fruit trees - apple, pomegranate, pear, persimmon, lemon, quince, fig, olive - and all sorts of flowering plants and shrubs - roses, sunflowers, and more whose names we don't know! - created a special world populated just by our small group and the resident poultry platoon of Mr. Rooster and his hens. Easy walks to tasty restaurants of all types. A delightful experience all around.

This was our second visit to this beautiful peaceful well-appointed traditional villa (and we will be back!).We would highly recommend it to anyone. The location is fantastic in that it benefits from being quiet and rural with a lovely large pool set in lovely gardens, but is within really easy walking distance to very good restaurants in Kaya itself, or to just hop on the local dolmus buses to either Hisaronu, Fetiye or Gemiler beach. The owner Cetin and his family are lovely and extremely kind and helpful.
A wonderful relaxing break!

What a find this Villa is. In a quite corner of a great local village. Pure peace and quite. The grounds are amazing with plenty of room to play.
The swimming pool is perfect size with lots of room to relax next to it.

The pool is cleaned daily by the owner. Who is one of the most nicest people you could meet. Could not do enough for us, even pick the vegetables fresh for my son to eat

The villa itself if lovely and clean. Perfect size rooms. All finished to a very high traditional standard

The beds were so comfy

Had a great holiday

We loved our stay at Ozlem Evi.The villa was clean and well equipped and a short walk to the local restaurants. The pool was a good size and cleaned every day which allowed us to spend many hours lazing by the pool enjoying the peace and quiet of the surrounding area.We saw the owner every day when he came to tend the lovely garden and it was a real pleasure to meet him and his family. We would certainly consider staying at this villa again and if you like the idea of a stay away from the hustle and bustle then this villa will suit.

"We have stayed in this Valley for the past 15 years, this our first time at Ozlem Evi. We have had 17 days of rest and relaxation, the pool is wonderful as is the lovely large terrace. The best reason we can think of for staying here is the garden, which is a beautiful private haven........ Love Eileen, Dave and Estelle, Halifax"

"28/08/2013 It is indeed a beautiful place to be, with such warm and genuine people. Though we came with ideas of adventure and exploration the lure of the pool and relaxation was not easy to overcome and so, on our last day we return home recharged and a little richer in life for being the fortunate ones to have spent time here! Thank you to Cetin for looking after us we will be back. Kim, Alan and Kaya"

"Our second holiday in Kaya and Ozlem Evi was perfect for us, so peaceful and relaxing. Many thanks to Cetin and his family for the warm welcome and for looking after us so well. Mark and Heather, Cornwall"
