Spacious apartment with stunning views over the sea and the village in the pittoresque harbour town of Kas.
Sea view apartments “Kas Residence” are build up the mountain at the border of Kas. The position secures stunning views overlooking the village and the sea. Imagine seeing the sun go down while nipping on a glass of wine on your balcony. Far enough from the noisy bars in Kas centre to secure a good night sleep, close enough to be in the middle of it when you want to. Bars, shops and restaurants are found in abundance in Kas centre only a 15 minute stroll down the steep mountain road. Also the beach can be reached easily this way. Back up you just use the regular Dolmus (minibus) stopping only a 5 minutes’ walk from the apartment.
Apartment Panorama sleeps 6 persons in two large twin bedrooms and a small bedroom with a bunk bed. One of the large bedrooms has a private en-suite bathroom, the other two bedrooms share the other bathroom.
The apartment is air-conditioned, has a specious living and a fully equipped open plan kitchen for self catering with a washing machine, dish washer and a micro wave / oven. In each apartment is satellite TV, DVD player and a stereo CD player available to use.
Although the large pool is shared with 7 other apartments, only 1 other apartment is rented out, so the others are not intensively used. The apartment has its own sun beds.
The picturesque harbour town of Kas
The picturesque harbour town Kas (Antiphellos in the Greek era) is renowned for its natural charm at the Turkey Rivera. It has an attractive harbour front along which tea gardens, cafes and restaurants are to be found in abundance.
Leading away from the harbour is a warren of winding cobbled streets full of colorful shops offering all manner of carpets, ceramics, arts and crafts. Kas has remained relatively unspoiled since, until recent times, it was only possible to reach there by sea or on horseback.
Tourism in Kas
Tourism in Kas is international and tends to be of the more elite kind. The town is especially popular with the English, the Germans, the Scandinavians, the French, the Belgians and the Dutch, who come here in search of privacy, peace and quiet, comfort, nature, culture, active pursuits and fine cuisine. There is no mass tourism in Kas - no sprawling (all-inclusive) resorts or apartment complexes with organized entertainment. Many hikers pass through Kas as they walk The Lycian Way (a 509 km way-marked footpath around the coast from Fethiye to Antalya). The Lycian coast - and Kas especially - is famous for its beauty. Kas is recommended in various travel guides and is a stop over for the cruises in traditional wooden Gulets: the Blue Voyages.
Kas does not have a sandy beach, but it does have a few pebble beaches and several sun terraces right on the waterfront, which often have a bar. The fabulous sandy beaches of Kaputas (15 km) and Patara (35 km) are easy to get to by minibus and/or boat. Similarly, a fifteen-minute boat trip will take you to Limanagzi - a beautiful beach with a very relaxed atmosphere on the opposite side of the bay. On the peninsula people swim in the sea near the sun terraces of the hotels. Villa Dunya has its own shared beach platforms.
On the outskirts of Kas there is a small and reasonably well-preserved Hellenistic amphitheatre. From the highest row of seat you have a fabulous view of the sea. On the hill between the theatre and the market there are a few free-standing Lycian tombs. On the other side of the street from the theatre, there is the barely recognizable ruin of an ancient temple. In the hills immediately behind Kas there are a large number of Lycian rock graves that date back to the fourth century BC. You can see these graves from the town centre, and during the high season they are lit up on some evenings.
Kas is centrally situated in relation to many interesting antiquities, cultural attractions and areas of natural beauty, which makes it an ideal base camp for day trips and excursions. The most popular day trips and excursions are mentioned below. It is definitely worth going on a boat trip to the ancient Lycian city of Kekova, the remains of which are mostly submerged. You can go swimming and snorkelling during the trip. Lunch is usually included and is consumed in one of the little restaurants on the waterfront in Kekova. After lunch you have time to go and see the castle of Kekova and the Lycian graves. You can also go on a boat trip to one of the many little islands just off the coast. If you hire a car, you can visit the ruins of the ancient city of Myra, the St Nicholas basilica at Demre, the waterfall between Kas and Kalkan and the stunning Saklikent Gorge all on the same day. Try to be at the gorge around lunch time if you can, so you can lunch on the floating platforms on the river. Lovers of antiquity should also make a point of visiting the highly recommended ruins of Tlos along the way. A trip to Xanthos, which is inland from Kalkan, is also definitely worth doing.
We have been before and will return again. Love the area and the views from Panorama

Spacious accommodation for 4 adults and 2 children on 2 floors with 2 showers plus an en suite bath/shower room.
Outstanding views from a fine balcony and also the patio area.
Theres a pool shared with 8 other apartments, so dont go in school hols unless you have kids - they take over the pool. The pool is 6 feet deep everywhere and has a very short ladder so its really not suitable tor non-swimmers to even cool off.
The manager, Eva, is friendly and helpful.
Most people use a car to get to these apartments because it is a tiring walk up but we preferred to get the fitness benefit (theres also a dolmus along the main road then a short walk downhill but we didnt try that). But the views make the climb well worthwhile.
Well definitely go there again so please dont book it the week we want!

This property is clean, spacious and very well furnished with excellent equipment. The views from the balcony are fabulous and even better than described. The swimming pool was clean and well maintained and available for our private use for the majority of the time.
The walk into town was very steep but accurately described, we only walked back up once!
We had only one small problem during our stay and this was dealt with promptly by the owners representative, Eva, who was very helpful and friendly.
Our only criticism is the absence of any helpful literature to assist us during our stay ie map of the town, directions to where to get the dolmus, where was the supermarket, when was market day, suggested day trips etc...

It is a wonderful apartment with unrivalled views over the bay and the village. We really enjoyed our experience in Kas and would not hesitate to recommend the property or the village to anyone.

Upside: This apartment is lovely and has a truly stunning view that made up for any deficiencies elsewhere. Its over two floors with the bedrooms downstairs, which makes them cooler (although the room with the bunk-beds was stuffy and had no air conditioning) Theres a lovely private patio off the master bedroom. In many respects its well equipped: coffee machine, orange juicer, salad spinner all that sort of stuff. Pool and grounds are well kept. Oh, and did I mention the stunning view, which now Im home I discover I photographed about four times a day.
Downside: Kas generally is not a good choice for anyone with mobility problems and unless you have the constitution of a mountain goat, evenings out mean either a designated driver or a 25 lira taxi fare home. Minor irritations in what was provided eg no hairdryer no English instructions on anything. You have to remember to close the french windows on the ground floor when youre not around or the local criters can dro p in to see whats going on (didnt mind the cat, did mind the dogs). I would not recommend this apartment for anyone with children as there are unfenced steep dro ps from the patio and pool area.
