Kalkan, situated along Turkey’s beautiful Lycean coast, and nestled below the rugged Taurus Mountains, is enchanting and unspoilt. Whilst tourism is the main trade here, it remains a romantic, upmarket destination, with low-level white washed houses looking down to the old fishing harbour, a charming old town complete with cascading Bougainvillea, and Ottoman Greek architecture.
Many of our holiday villas in Kalkan have views over the crystal-clear Mediterranean waters of the bay, and of several small islands that can be visited on boat tours, along with nearby coves and caves. Kalkan has a very clean white pebble beach and the surrounding area has several more beautiful sandy beaches with incredibly clear waters. With 300 days of sunshine a year, the warm blue waters are irresistible, and the water sports facilities here are first-rate; the area is considered to be one of the best scuba diving locations in Turkey.
In the town, narrow winding lanes take you down to Kalkan’s harbour, where you can find many of the superb restaurants and waterfront cafes for which the town is famous.
