The Turkish Riviera/Kalkan region
THE LYCIAN COASTLINE is an area of extraordinary beauty. There is nothing quite like this piece of coastline as the coastal road twists and turns and the hidden treasure of Kalkan appears. The broad, open Mediterranean in the bay below is such a beautiful azure blue, it has a truly mesmerizing effect as nature unfolds in front of you. The area offers the visitor plenty of activities, both on and off the water, and a variety of places of interest to visit, whether your particular interests are steeped in history; enjoying the regions outstanding natural beauty; or just relaxing, there is something for everyone .

KALKAN, the jewel of the ‘Turquoise Coast’, is an idyllic fishing village with a charming marina where modern yachts mix with traditional fishing boats and gullets in a postcard pretty setting, where peace and tranquillity are guaranteed. The cobbled streets have that special ambience of old world charm and retain their lovely, traditional Turkish character. Kalkan offers an extensive range of delightful and atmospheric restaurants, from the relaxed simplicity of local home cooking, to the sophistication of the fabulous harbour-side and rooftop restaurants. There are supermarkets (offering delivery service), butchers, bakers etc. We never tire of meandering through the pretty streets leading to the harbour with their wide range of local crafts, antiques and fashionable jewellery and clothing shops. There are also banks for money exchange and an ATM machines for local cash.

We had a fabulous stay at Villa Teshir in Kalkan. A wonderfully located villa within walking distance of the town but situated high up on the hills with gorgeous views. The pool was a good size and the air con inside was a godsend! It was sad to say goodbye.

Friends from Ipswich, United Kingdom Jun 2015

Four of us enjoyed a two week stay here in June 2015. Perfect villa for two couples with two en suite bedrooms. Villa is spacious particularly outside with lots of areas both in sunshine and shade. Booking was easy and owners were very helpful with questions prior to the holiday and transfers were organised to and from the airport. Local manager on hand if problems occur. Villa in great location, very quiet during the day and only an eight minute walk into the bustling and lively town of Kalkan.

The villa was awesome, even better than what the pictures show. We absolutely recommend it.

4 of us stayed here for the second 2 weeks of June and we had a fantastic time. We had been to Kalkan before and so we knew how wonderful a place it is. It was our first trip staying at Villa Teshir however, and hopefully will not be our last. The villa is perfect for 2 couples with lots of internal space (which we didnt really use - apart from the bedrooms because the weather so nice) and just the right balance outside of sun and shaded areas. The views from the terrace are simply beautiful. The pool, which was immaculately clean was a real highlight for us and seemed a lot bigger than other pools we noticed around the resort in similar size villas. Helen was on hand if and when we needed her, she was very helpful and informative if we wanted information about the resort etc. We were also impressed with the communications we received from Ray and Gill before we went and after we returned - all of which was a refreshing change from what you often get (or dont!) from a tour operator. So thank you Ray and Gill, we loved your place and hope to go back there soon.

We found Villa Teshir to be generally tired and in need of some TLC
Our 2 main disappointments were lack of privacy around pool area from villa above-how about some form of screening on top of wall-this was not apparent in photos, also very restricted view over bay from pool & dining terrace. This could so easily be rectified by removing or at least reducing height of shrubbery
Shower rooms VERY cramped-only 1 small shelf, absolutely NO storage for toiletries in shower cubicle.
Only 1 hook for bath towelwhy not 2?
Shower room in main bedroom unusable for4 days due to unbearable smell.
Kitchen lacked grill, microwave,coffee-maker
NO handle on fridge/freezer making it VERY difficult to open
Loose knobs on gas cooker
Terrible smell under sink
We put most of cutlery & crockery through dishwasher on arrival &pans needed scouring
All of our previous holiday villas provided more interesting welcome packs such as cold meats, biscuits, juices, wine &often beers
Many villas now offer satellite tv &wi-fi
On the plus side:-beds were very comfortable with clean linen & towels
Pool wasVERY clean
Prompt response of 30 minutes when both gas & water ran out at the same time.
We have enjoyed many villa holidays over the years but sadly this one did not meet our expectations, having no privacy in & around the pool.

Having received Carol's review we can only say we were very shocked and surprised at her comments. In 6 years we have never had such a negative review and can only point guests to our long list of excellent reviews including the one immediately preceding hers from the Gilpins and the subsequent one following hers from Dave from Hereford. We are justly proud that we offer and achieve a quality and level of service which we would expect ourselves and that our guests have very much appreciated and often commented on. Many returning to enjoy our facilities time and again. However, we are eager not to just dismiss Carol's comments even though they seem at total odds to the vast majority of our guests experiences and we have addressed her concerns directly to her in a lengthy communication. It would be churlish to reiterate all of our comments here, save to say we feel her personal perspective to the specific issues muted as 'constructive comments' coloured her attitude, and that most of her major concerns were based on personal preferences and unrealistic expectations, and not on what we actually advertise or offer on our web site, and certainly not on any failing on our part. We can only refer guests to read all of our previous reviews and to take a balanced view themselves.Just to quickly comment on the specific issues raised for guests requiring clarification:-As regards the major issue she mentions about the lack of privacy around the pool area, we are situated amongst other high quality villas but have never found a lack of privacy to be an issue with so many secluded areas on the terrace and balcony and it has certainly never been our intention to mislead guests. Indeed quite the opposite, we have always done our best to make sure that our information is as accurate as possible and that the photographs on our web-site are truly representative of what we offer. In fact we have had many complementary comments suggesting that the photographs do not do the villa justice. (please see the reviews prior to and following Carol's ). We do not claim that the pool or terraced areas are completely secluded, in fact I cannot think of many villas in the whole of Kalkan so close to the amenities that are completely private, and even amongst the villas in the immediate vicinity ours is probably the least overlooked, which is why we liked it. Indeed we have many enquiries from Muslim guests who require and ask about complete privacy for bathing etc, and we always give them an accurate and clear picture of sight lines from other villas when asked. Some have booked regardless and have told us it was never a problem for them. -The bushes and gardens are well maintained and we feel the greenery only accentuates the beauty, privacy and peace of the villa.-The shower cubicles were replaced with new glass ones last year and we have had a guest who was 6'4" and 20 stone who never found them a problem.-The cooker does not have a grill, but does have 4 gas rings and an oven. There is also a separate electric toaster and a cafetier for coffee in the kitchen.-The fridge was again a recent new buy and has an optional handle which we chose not to fit. We've never found it a problem, but perhaps we will refit it for guests.-We found no problem with the cooker knobs when we were there and our manager has checked it out and spoken to current guests.-All cutlery and pans are put through the dishwasher prior to each guests arriving. A couple of pans are slightly tarnished as pans are when they are used regularly.-No previous or subsequent guests have mentioned any smells, but if Carol had mentioned this or any other issue to our manager we would have attended to it immediately, but it seemed to clear itself up.?! -Our 'Welcome Pack' contains 14 items and is carefully chosen to avoid waste and after studying the requirements of previous guests: Tea, coffee, milk, sugar, eggs, water, olives, cheese, bread, jam, butter, tomatoes, cucumber, biscuits. This pack is a starter pack to welcome guests after the journey & can be used for a Turkish breakfast, cheese omelettes or just sandwiches for a snack before venturing into the village. If guests require anything extra or have any special requirements we will see if Helen can source it for them, as we have done for many previous guests. -We do not provide or advertise Sat TV or WiFi, which we and the majority of our guests are happy to avoid on holiday. Nearly every cafe, bar and restaurant in Kalkan supplies these services free of charge. We do provide a brand new 32" LED flat screen TV connected to a DVD/ HDD player with over 100 films for guests to enjoy and dozens of CD's and books. If TOTAL seclusion, Sat TV and WiFi are your major priorities may we suggest looking at alternate villas that advertise these features.Again we can only refer guests to read all of our previous reviews and compare the comments. A really lovely villa with a beautiful view over the Kalkan bay. Far enough out of the town to be peaceful but close enough to walk to within 10 minutes. The villa had absolutely everything that we could have needed and was a really fantastic place to spend our holiday.

We had a wonderful time at Villa Teshir. The villa was absolutely beautiful - the pictures really don't do it justice. I now see what people mean on the reviews when they say it feels like a home, not a rental. Everything from the quality of the furnishings to the books and DVDs and the fact that the kitchen has available all of the general things you need to cook (foil, cling film, salt, sugar, knives that are actually sharp enough to use etc etc). You really do have a wonderful property that has such a homely feel to it and which is in a fantastic location. Aside from the stunning views from every window we also really enjoyed the privacy on the terrace - frankly we could have just lived outside! Roger the manger was also brilliant - a really nice person who wasn't intrusive at all and who provided some fab tips on where to eat. It was so useful to have someone with local knowledge to give us a steer - usually the Internet research I do before going away gives us a good idea of where to go, for what and on the cost but as you no doubt know with Kalkan, it isn't so easy to do that as you are really limited to just reading tripadvisor reviews etc with only the higher end restaurants having websites with menus available online. This meant Roger's help was invaluable. He was also great getting the wifi sorted - as it happened it just needed rebooting. Thanks also to both of you for texting the code to me so quickly. Aside from thanking both of you for letting us into your beautiful home for 10 days and for really making it feel like a home, Pete and I would also like to say a big thank you for all of your help and info throughout the booking process and before we departed. I couldn't think of anything you could improve, it is so nice to have someone who responds quickly to emails and you really made us feel like if we needed anything, we could just ask. In particular, arranging the shopping for our arrival was much appreciated and allowed us to really make the most of our first day. So, all in all, thank you! We will definitely be looking to return to Kalkan and we would definitely want to stay at Villa Teshir. If we can find some reasonably priced flights (unfortunately it appears a big if at the moment) for the start of September we are hoping to return - from looking at the availability calendar I think that Villa Teshir is probably already booked up at that time but, if not, please do let me know and then I can get back in touch if I can find some decent flights. Thanks again. Best wishes, Louise and Peter

A dream of a villa in this unspoilt Turkish town. 5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 16th 2014. This was our second stay in this beautiful Villa and our 8th visit to Kalkan....we just keep coming back:). Villa Teshir is very well equipped and comfortable with everything you could want for a relaxing stay. Two large bedrooms with good air con and ensuites upstairs and the most beautiful traditional balcony room for lounging and enjoying the stunning views of the bay.The kitchen and living areas have everything you could possibly want for a relaxing stay whether in high summer or in the cooler months of the year( including a good range of films)! The pool is a great size and the Roman steps make good cooling off seats as well as a gentle entry to the water whilst the outdoor seating areas offer full sun and dappled shade. There is good parking at the foot of the steps which lead to the Villa and it is easily reached but in a peaceful location on the hillside overlooking the bay.Helen the manager was helpful, friendly and easy to reach if needed with lots of local information. The booking process is very easy and the owners Ray and Gill are great to deal with. All in all a wonderful restful experience.

STUNNING HILLSIDE LOCATION WITH AMAZING VIEWS - 5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 23, 2013 NEW First class experience from booking the holiday until we returned home. The villa had all the facilities required for a comfortable, relaxing holiday. The hillside location had stunning views over kalkan bay. The only downside was the steep walk back to the villa from the town. (submitted by the Robertsons from Ross shire)

Loved the villa, location, facilities, view...the lot.5 of 5 stars September 4, 2013 We had a great week at Villa Teshir, arrived a midnight and there was a welcome pack with everything we needed and more for breakfast the next day. Everything you might need is thought of, the look and layout is great, views are lovely, and all the different seating areas mean you can have shade or sun all day. Not far to walk into the old town...just a bit hot some days! Ray and Gill were very helpful, and so was Helen who looks after the villa in Kalkan. Couldnt fault anything....thanks for a lovely week. (sumitted by Taylors, Shipston-on-Stour)

Fantastic Villa with the most amazing panoramic views I have ever seen ....5 of 5 stars. August 29, 2013 Villa Teshir with its wonderful views of the bay are breath taking. Very spacious and wonderfully furnished throughout. Outside lovely eating area and large pool. Spent many night looking out to sea. Helen the villa manager was very friendly and helpful and was there to hand if we required her help. Kalkan is a beautiful relaxing area and my partner and I will be back in the near future. Thank you Ray and Gill for a very relaxing stay at your villa. (submitted by Pam, North Wales)

Extreemly comfortable villa with panoramic views over Kalkan bay,5 of 5 stars  July 21, 2013 Villa Teshir is very well-equiped with plenty of separate eating and resting areas to suit the temperature and your mood, all with stunning views. The pool is an adequate size and well maintained,it doesnt have a shallow area though which could be a problem with non-swimmers. The patio area is large so although bits of it can be over-looked by other villas it still felt quite private, and there is good lighting for after dark. We found the owners and the agent helpful and welcoming and although we had amazing weather there was a telly/ videos and games and books if you needed them.We hired a car, could have managed without but 10 mins steep walk back from town would have been hard work in the heat with shopping. BEAUTIFUL VILLA IN GREAT LOCATION....5 of 5 stars July 13, 2013 for stay in June. We are a couple in our mid 30s and stayed at villa Teshir for 10 days in late June/early July. The villa is lovely and more than met our expectations. The interior was very clean, well maintained and beautifully furnished and decorated. The pool and terrace area is fantastic, the pool was bigger than we expected and the terrace gets full sun all day with plenty of areas of shade too. The location of the villa is great, its relatively high up so you get fantastic panoramic views of kalkan, however its also within an easy stroll of town (it took us approx 10 minutes to walk down to the old town and harbour area). The communication we received from Ray & Gill the villa owners was great, they were incredibly helpful and quick to respond to our queries. They arranged taxi transfers from Dalaman airport for us, they will also arrange car hire if needed. They have an English property manager (Helen) based in Kalkan, luckily we didnt really need her much during our stay but it was good to know she was on hand if need be. We really liked Kalkan itself, the old town area is really pretty with lots of good restaurants (Aubergine and Doy Doy were our favourites) and nice bars (the fountain terrace bar is lovely). Its a quiet upmarket resort and the absence of mass tourism/package tour operators helps to maintain this atmosphere. There are no clubs/karaoke bars etc and we didnt witness any loud/antisocial behaviour at all during our stay. We went outside of school holiday season and the other holidaymakers were predominantly British couples from age 30s upwards. There is lots to see and do in and around the Kalkan, Patara and kaputas beaches are beautiful and wed highly recommend the day trip to Kekova with ABI travel. Overall we really cant fault villa Teshir or Kalkan, we had a great holiday, the booking process was smooth, Ray & Gill really helpful, transfers on time, villa more than lived up to expectations and Kalkan itself is a beautiful place. We dont tend to holiday in the same place twice but if we were to return to Kalkan we would definitely book Villa Teshir again! (submitted by Emma from London)

A PIECE OF PARADISE...5 of 5 stars  July 12, 2013 for stay June 2013 Had a wonderful vacation in Villa Teshir charming, very clean & extremely well equipped accommodation in a peaceful location with a magnificent view across Kalkan bay. From the very beginning of the booking , right till the end of our vacation the support we have received from Ray (owner) and Helen (property manager) was excellent. We were treated with a welcome hamper ( all you need to cook yummy breakfast) on the arrival which was really great, as we have arrived at 3am. The villa is spacious and tastefully furnished. It has large kitchen and lounge downstairs as well as the WC. Two en-suite bedrooms are located upstairs, one with double and one with twin beds (beds are very comfortable). Fully Air con and its in perfect working condition. There was no issue with anything i.e hot water etc. Outside area is great, really large patio with a big swimming pool (1.7m - no shallow end). The terrace has shaded dinning area to seat 6 people right by the pool. There are also 2 comfy armchairs and a 2 seater sofa outside, stone BB, parasols and deckchairs. The veranda style balcony on the 1st floor has a view to die for and its a perfect place for a romantic dinner. 10 min walk will take you to a beautiful Kalkan village with loads of lovely little cafes, restaurants and shops. Car is no needed unless you fancy travelling around. Yali supermarket is only few minutes walk away and its very well stocked, we did most of the shopping there (they even sell yummy bacon if you fancy a fry up). Yali will deliver your shopping for free, however if you prefer a taxi its about £3 to Villa Teshir. There is plenty of good restaurants in Kalkan with good quality of food and reasonable prices. You will pay top dollars if you decide to eat by the marina though. Villa Teshir is an ideal place for relaxing holidays and we had a truly wonderful time there. Thank you very much Ray , Gill and Helen. We will be back. (submitted by Asia from London)

GREAT VILLA...5 of 5 stars  June 11, 2013 for stay in May 2013 Found villa to have superb views and lovely outside seating areas. We cheated and used taxis for return journeys from old town most evenings (cost about 11 tl) Weather was excellent except for a couple of windy days. (submitted by Parry-Jones, Guildford)

REVIEW: submitted by the McCahons from Rugby for a stay in Sept 2012 Hi Ray and Gill, We had a great time staying at your lovely villa. We love Kalkan and Villa Teshir is in such a beautiful location. The transfers were very smooth, thank you for arranging that for us. We hope to return very soon to Villa Teshir.

REVIEW: submitted by the Smithyes from Guildford for a stay in July Dear Ray and Gill, Having just returned from Turkey I just wanted to pass on my sincere thanks for allowing us to stay at your villa. It was exactly as described and pictured and the whole family had a simply wonderful and relaxing time in Kalkan. The villa was perfectly equipped and we didnt want for anything - a real home from home. Great views and a fabulous pool. Everything went according to plan and thank you for arranging the transfers to and from the airport. What with working long hours under considerable pressure, family holidays are prized time and we really had a great break with fantastic memories. Thanks for everything.

Review: submitted by Jenny from Northampton 9 July 2012 for a stay in July 2012 A beautiful, luxurious and well equipped villa in a peaceful area on the hillside with great views over the whole of Kalkan and the bay. Luxurious deep pool with Italian steps and delightful outside areas to relax in, both sunny and shaded. The interior is very well appointed with 2 good bedrooms both with nice ensuite bathroomsand there is ample parking at the bottom of the steps leading to the villa entrance. There are gorgeous views from the many windows and especially from the charming traditionally styled balcony....a perfect place for breakfast or to watch the sun go down over Kalkan and its many fantastic restaurants.

REVIEW: submitted by Chantel from Southampton 2 July 2012 for a stay in June 2012 Villa Teshir was/is perfect for our family, our 2 daughters (aged 5 & 7) loved the pool which is of perfect proportion and gets the full sun from the moment it rises over the mountains. The pool is deep with no shallow end however the steps leading into it were ideal so it wasnt a problem. The terrace is very pretty with lovely views of the sea and the mountains as well as havig lots of different shaded areas to sit in. The photos dont do it justice...The villa is lovely and cool inside and really nicely furnished. The villa is not far from the wonderful village of Kalkan but it is quite hilly, however taxis are readily available and cheap so not a problem. The owners Ray & Gill are really easy to talk to and have been perfect. I would thoroughly recommend Villa Teshir, Im just wishing i was there now! Thanks for a great holiday... a beautiful villa in a gorgeous setting”

Hi Ray & Gill, Have been meaning to contact you and also to put something on Villarenters but have been hectic since getting back - the holiday seems a dim and distant memory now sadly. Just wanted to let you know that we had a fantastic time and are really envious of you having such a beautiful villa in such a wonderful resort. Everything was perfect, villa, pool, location, restaurants (didnt cook in villa once - another attack on my wallet but what the hell!!). Transfers were a breeze so a big thank you again. Thankfully we didnt need Helen much, but when we did she was great. All in all a very special holiday in a very special place - we will be back! Also like to thank you for your communication beforehand - its the first time Ive not used a holiday company and I was a bit stressed but you made it all so easy and calmed my nerves more than once. Many thanks again & Best wishes Andrew from Preston

“gorgeous villa, lovely holiday!” Reviewed 26 July 2011. We stayed in Villa Teshir for 10 days with our three small children (ages 6,4 and 2). The villa was perfect for us. It is beautiful, sunny and airy. The pool was large enough for the swimmers to have a wonderful time, but also had wide, safe steps for the 2 year-old non-swimmer to play on comfortably (something few other pools seemed to have). The patio was bright and big with lots of beautiful flowers and a perfect mix of sun and shade. Kalkan was relaxed and fun, with great restaurants and charming shops. It was an easy trip to Kaputas and Pataras beaches, too. It was lovely to come "home after a long beach day and let the kids swim while we cooked dinner, ate on the patio and enjoyed the stunning views. Helen, the local manager was fantastic help, too. We will be back! Would I recommend this holiday rental to my best friend? Yes. Jared, Tbilisi

Hi Ray & Gill, We stayed at your gorgeous Villa Teshir from 8th to 22nd July and had a fantastic holiday. We just wanted to let you know that we thought the Villa was lovely and Helen looked after us very well. Thank you so much. Regards Sandra from Bingley

Hi Ray & Gill, Just a quick email to thank you so much for the chance to book your lovely villa for a week. It is so easy to intend to do things like saying thankyou and never get round to it and this was one time I was determined not to let that happen - we have had a SUPERB time! It was so refreshing to go on holiday and for things to be better than you had expected them - honest blurb no clever photos that take all holiday to decide where they were actually taken from. Love the first floor terrace - just the job for aperitifs! It really was a home from home quality, comfortable furnishings light, airy rooms everything you need to ensure an extremely relaxing break - Brilliant!!! Just what the doctor ordered. We only hope that you will continue to rent out your lovely home next year as to coin a phrase well be back! Regards Elaine and Alistair from Gloucs

Hi Ray & Gill Just wanted to say thankyou for what was a fantastic holiday. From the transfers from the airport, which were on time with no waiting around, to your beautiful villa, which we absolutely loved, it was everything and more than we had expected. Comfortable, clean and tidy and with everything we needed it was just what we wanted for our well earned half-term holiday!! With views to die for we felt very lucky. Helen the villa manager was very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Everybody was so friendly, and with lots to do in Kalkan, and so many great restaurants (we were spoilt for choice) we must visit again. Thank you for all of your help and we will definately be contacting you soon to book again. Dave & Debs Hereford

Villa Teshir and Kalkan exceeded our expectations, the photos on the web site make it look inviting but the reality is even better!! We had a fantastic holiday, the villa is so spacious and comfortable - very well equipped and in a stunning position with great views. Helen the local manager was really helpful and the taxi transfers went very smoothly. We were amazed by the number of fabulous restaurants, we were spoilt for choice. We hired a jeep for 3 days and went to Patara, Salikent, Tlos and Kas, so there's lots more for us to see and many more restaurants to try!! We had never hired a villa before and found it so peaceful and relaxing, we are seriously considering returning next year. Thanks you so much for allowing us to enjoy your beautiful villa. The Gilpins from Cumbria

Dear Ray & Gill, I just wanted to let you know that we had the most wonderful time in Kalkan - it far exceeded our expectations in every way.The villa was superb - we adored the pool and the views and Helen took care of us very well, particularly on our arrival day when we arrived at the villa exhausted, hot and bothered, but we soon felt so much better. Kalkan has so much to offer without being too large - the eating out was great and reasonably priced. We went scuba diving which was amazing and did plenty of snorkling etc. We explored the local beach clubs and also visited Kaputas beach and the Saklikent Gorge - both of these were well worth the trips - we loved wading through the icy cold water at the gorge! The Thursday markets were wonderful - particularly the fruit, veg, cheeses etc. The weather was beautiful the whole time with temperatures from 35 to 45 degrees - the air conditioning was therefore lovely to have at night time. Good comfortable beds much appreciated too.We would most definitely love to re-visit your beautiful villa sometime - it can't be next year unfortunately, but summer 2012 looks like a very strong possibility. Many thanks. ALL the Jolleys from Chippenham

Hi Ray & GillJust to let you know that we had an absolutely fantastic time. It was Patrick’s first ‘beach’ holiday (he’s more of a city breaker) and I was a little concerned that it would be too laid back for him, however from the minute we stepped out onto the patio it was clear that we would both be very happy to sit there doing absolutely nothing for a week! The facilities were excellent, everything we could have possibly needed, and Helen very kindly collected us from the coach station and arranged our transfer back to the airport. We’d definitely be interested in coming back, in fact, just 3 days into the holiday Patrick was already talking about booking another stay! Many thanks,Sam from Sheffield

Hi Ray and GillWe are back from a wonderful week in Kalkan and what really made it for us was Villa Teshir with its amazing views and gorgeous surroundings. We visited Kas as you suggested, enjoying the lovely drive and visiting Adam’s Restaurant en route where we had a lovely meal for which we would like to thank you – that was so kind of you. Thanks for all your help. We will be putting great feedback on the Villarenters website. Hello Ray and Gill!Just wanted to thank you for a fantastic holiday at Villa Teshir. Everything was just perfect. We loved the villa and the views. I didn't want to leave it and spent hours on the terrace gazing into the mountains and the sea. It is top of our list for next year - hope we can book it soon, as a great time is guaranteed in Kalkan at your villa. Thanks again,With best wishes,Sabine from London

Ray & Gill,Your Villa was even better than we had envisaged, it was a real treat for us and we are already missing lazy days around the pool.We really enjoyed Kalkan, the people were all very friendly and we particularly enjoyed the roof top restaurants. When we return to Kalkan we will be in touch as we would not like to stay anyway else. Best Regards Howard & Jayne from Sheffieldf

Hi Ray and GillJust thought we would dro p you a line to say how much we enjoyed staying in your villa, what a great place you have. We had a great holiday and look forward to returning in the not too distant future. Thanks again for your help prior to the holidayBest RegardsAlan & Karen Buttress from Cambridge

Hi Ray and GillThankyou for letting us stay in your beautiful villa everything was perfect and Helen your manager was great. Any issue we had she was there immediately to sort it out. If we ever go back to kalkan we will definatley want to stay at Villa Teshir. Thanks for all your advice before our holiday.Kind regardsAfshan from Middlesex

Ray & Gill,We had a wonderful time in Turkey, and the people are very friendly and helpful. The villa was perfect with amazing views, clean and tidy and spacious. Many an evening we sat on the balcony, had a barbeque and just relaxed. Kalkan was even better then we had hoped, small and quiet, which is what we like. We travelled around and found a great trout restaurant up in the hills in Islamar. We also went to Kas which was lovely. We have all said that Kalkan is the one place we would love to go back to, and the villa teshir. We will be in touch if we get the opportunity to visit again.Thank you for letting us stay there.Merry Christmas and a Happy New YearRegards Lorraine & John from Exeter

Hi Ray and GillJust to say we had a wonderful time, it was the best R&R we have had in a long time and Helen was very helpful. We would love to book again next year and will contact you later this year. RegardsSteve from Bedford

Dear Ray & GillJust to say we had a lovely stay at your villa. Weather was glorious as expected and the villa was perfect. We especially liked the early evening drinks and game of draughts on the upstairs balcony – what a fantastic view. We came well prepared for problem mozzies but were shocked to only see one of the critters and only received a couple of very minor bites – all helped by the air con and mozzy screens. A very pleasant time was had by all. We had a few days in Istanbul after leaving Kalkan and a few days in London so have only just returned home – your cheque was waiting for us. Thanks.CarolynEdinburgh

Ray & Gill, I just returned to work from our Turkish adventure. We did have a wonderful time at Villa Teshir and must admit it was the high light of our trip. We will keep your contact points for future use. Thanks very much, Tom from New Jersey, USA

Hi Ray and Gillwe had a lovely time - many thanks - your villa is very well equipped to make for a very comfortable stay. Helen was extremely helpful - there with advice when we needed it but also discreetly not bothering us when we wanted to be on our own.. Thanks againLyn and Ray from Notts.

Hi Ray & Gill, the 2 weeks we spent at your wonderful villa were fantastic. Views were stunning, the local people were very warm and friendly, and Helen, your villa manager couldn't have been more helpful. The fact that the 2 weeks we spent was our honeymoon just rounded off our wedding perfectly. The local restaurants were very good and there were lots of tours etc to keep us occupied. Definately one to visit again !! Dave & Deb from Hereford

Hi Ray & Gill,Thank you so much for the use of your truly amazing quality villa. Its a great sanctuary for re-charging ones' batteries. Enjoyed everything, even to the choice of Cd's!! We had a memorable day on an exclusive boat trip and obtained a bargain or two in the local market. Helen your agent was very helpful & friendly too! Alex & Jan Gell Leigh-on-sea

Hello Ray and Gill, Pat and I have just returned from our holiday in Turkey and wanted to let you know how much we, and our friends, enjoyed our two week's stay at your villa in Kalkan. The villa is lovely and we enjoyed many a relaxing hour around the pool, BBQ etc. Also, Helen, your local manager was most welcoming, friendly and very helpful and quick to sort out any problems. Thanks to both yourselves and Helen for sorting out our 40th wedding anniversary present of flowers and wine from our son, Ian and his girlfriend Nicky. It was a lovely surprise and very much appreciated. All the very best, Pat and Barry Fish.

Hi Ray & GillOur feet are just coming back to the ground. We had a wonderful time in your beautiful villa, we loved the moretraditional architecture of Teshir and had a fantastic relaxing week of sunsea and sand. You can't capture on film how fantastic the views are. I hope they areuninterrupted for years to come. The Villa is very well stocked, we especially enjoyed the binoculars, and my children your selection of DVD's when I wouldn't let them in the midday sun.The local restaurants were great, especially the wonderfully Turkish Belgin's Kitchen in the old town.I spoke to you about the dolphins and the centre which specialises in Autistic Therapy on the Kas peninsular, and although prices for ordinary tourists are prohibitive, as we were there we were committed and it was an amazing experience for our daughter especially. It was great to meet Helen your manager, who was brilliant and attended to all our needs very promptly.Thank you for sharing your lovely home. Hope to visit again in cooler weather so we can explore all the ruins!Kind regards Andrea Lightfoot and family

Dear Ray & Gill, I feel that we just have to let you know what a fantastic holiday we had in your wonderful villa. We feel that we have found a true piece of 'Turkish Delight' !! The views really are glorious and unspoilt, and just as you describe them - which, given the modern tendancy to 'overstatement' in adverts, was an honest and refreshing change.!!The villa itself is lovely, and the terrace area really is extensive. We feel the photos on your web site, although excellent, do not do justice to or convey the actual size and quality of your home. I liked being able to take myself off for a read in a quiet corner, whilst other party members could enjoy the pool area. Kalkan and the local area is beautiful, but I'm afraid we were only too easily seduced into staying-put by the relaxing atmosphere of 'your home', the pool and the great views. However, we did manage the pleasant short stroll to stock up on essentials and again in the evening to sample the excellent restaurants and varied food on offer in what is a delightful and picturesque coastal village. The only mistake we made was in booking for 1 week, something we are going to rectify next year when we book a fortnight with you. Thanks again for a memorable holiday & see you next year Regards Alastair and Elaine Incher - Gloucester

Hi RayJust wanted to say what a lovely villa you have. It is gorgeous in every way, the stone floor, the views, the lovely terrace and furnishings. It is a great design in Turkish tradition and so much more interesting than most of the usual bland villa architecture. I would love to stay there again some time.Best wishes Becca

Hi Ray,We had a fab holiday but it seems such along time ago! The villa was wonderful and this was the laziest holiday we've ever had! Hope the weather was as good for you as it was us.Will defintely recommend the villa to our friends..Thank youBest wishesKatharine from Sandbach

Hi RayJust to let you know we had a lovely holiday! Everything went really well, from the outbound flight and Suzuki jeep rental, to being delighted with the villa, the pool, and the fantastic views from the terrace. We had a very enjoyable and relaxing holiday with a few adventures thrown in to keep us on our toes. We went to Saklikent and had a guide take us deep into the Gorge to about the farthest point we could go. We had lunch at Ebo's (short for Ibraheim - first rest. one on the left). He ended up coming rafting with us!! What a character!! We had such a laugh. He's asked us to send him some photos. Great day out!We went sea kayaking over the sunken city of Kekova, booked through Bourgainville Travel in Kas. A day out on gulet, (the boat was called Romantik, I think). Excellent lunch, really good day out. We went to Xanthos and Letoon, both amazing sites, arriving early so we had the place to ourselves.....and the added advantage of beating the heat of the day. We went to Patara, and we loved Kaputas beach. We spent a few afternoons at the Kalamar Beach Club. Really nice place - the kids had a go on the jet ski, ringos and banana boat. Everything went really well and we had a lovely time and were very impressed with the country, the people, the culture and we loved the food!. We'd certainly like to visit Turkey again.Thank you for renting us your villa - we had a wonderful time. With best wishesChristine, Chris, Joanna and Oliver from Henley

Hi Ray and Gill,Hope you are both well. We just wanted to thank you both for letting us use your wonderful villa. We had the most amazing time and will never forget it. The Villa was amazing, had everything we needed and Helen was so helpful. Kalkan is a beautiful little village and we will definitely want to return again, it reminded us of Cape Town as my partner and I are from South Africa, so it felt like we were are home.Thank you once again for our most memorable stay.Shirlene, Mike, Gill and Neil from Reading UK

Ray,a belated message thanking you for a great holiday. We really enjoyed our time in Kalkan. The villa was excellent and exceeded our expectations. all the transfers went smoothly despite our delayed flight and we found Helen helpful throughout our stay.best wishesAdam from Lewes
