Villa overview

If you're looking for an idyllic group or family-friendly stay in Turkey, spacious five-bedroomed Villa Selale is an ideal choice. Set in an enviable spot on the hillside in Kalkan – an old fishing village, turned lively seaside resort – the luxurious villa is just a short stroll from the centre of town and the shoreline and boasts stunning views of the sea, bay and surrounding tree-lined mountains.

The building fuses modern and Mediterranean style with whitewashed walls, natural-coloured furnishings and rustic stone features. The villa is set in private grounds, dotted with native plants and trees and features an inviting outdoor space with a large private pool. For an extra dose of luxury there's a salt water feature, as well as a shallower children's section in the pool and a separate jet Jacuzzi tub on the terrace. Take a cooling dip after a day of exploring Kalkan's winding streets and historic sites – or simply put up your feet and relax. There's a cushioned day bed surrounded by romantic voile curtains, sun loungers and a chic swinging hammock and for that too.
Inside the villa, you'll find a bright and inviting open-plan kitchen and living room, equipped with modern amenities, including a fridge, oven and washing machine. There's also sofas and an indoor dining table for those chilled evenings in. The villa sleeps up to ten across its five stylish bedrooms: three double bedrooms and two twin bedrooms – all decorated elegant with simple and classic interiors. The ground floor room has direct access to the swimming pool, while three of the rooms have a private balcony and the master has a private terrace and Jacuzzi tub in its bathroom. With a total of five bathrooms across the villa too, you don't need to worry about queuing for the shower.

For more action, the villa's handily positioned just a short walk from the centre of Kalkan, so you're never far from local restaurants and bars. With shops and supermarkets nearby too, you're perfectly positioned for a relaxing stay-in holiday or for exploring more of this charming part of Turkey.

Location

illa Selale is built into the hillside in Kalamar on Turkey's turquoise coast. Perfect for relaxing or exploring, it's in a quiet spot, yet is only a short walk from the centre of Kalkan town. There you'll find a beautiful boat-lined harbour, sandy beaches and colourful markets selling everything from hand-crafted traditional Turkish rugs (kilims) to fresh produce, jewellery and leather goods.
Kalkan sits on a curving bay and has plenty of waterfront cafes and restaurants serving both traditional and international cuisine. Spend afternoons exploring the narrow streets and then stop for a cold coffee or tasty lunch that go hand-in-hand with magnificent views of the coastline. To experience Kalkan from another perspective, you can jump on a traditional wooden gullet from the harbour and take a trip around the pristine bays, stopping off for swimming, snorkelling and lunch.

Kalkan is also renowned for its sandy beaches and there are more options for swimming and snorkelling. Kaputas Beach with crystal-clear waters and Patara Beach, a long stretch of shoreline that's also a National Park are both excellent choices. With day beach clubs at both, you can relax on the sand, take part in water sports like kayaking and parasailing or relax on the shoreline.

For trips further afield, Kekova island with its part-sunken ruins of Dolchiste, an ancient town which was destroyed by an earthquake during the 2nd century is a must do. Boats usually leave from cosmopolitan Kas, about a 30-minute drive from Kalkan. Kas also has the ancient site of Antiphellos, with still-visible ruins including a theatre which are sure to impress.
