The Patara Prince Resort is a famously recognised Hotel and Resort. It offers seclusion and privacy yet is only a few minutes walk away from the centre of Kalkan. Set on a hill overlooking Kalkan bay it boasts stunning views. The Patara Prince Resort is a "grand design" with use of local stone and lush plantation that sympathetically enhance the natural surroundings, that reach down to the sea.
Based on a neo classic design, The architect has created atmosphere, elegance and style. The facilities could easily fill your day. They include private sun platforms. water sports, diving lessons, tennis courts, volleyball, restaurants and bars, shops, gym, Haman, sauna, massage to name a few!
Also a choice of two seawater pools and a fresh water pool, plus a children's pool and water slide and handy kiddies club.
The resort has its own shuttle bus which together with the sea-side panoramic elevator provide easy access throughout the resort. However not suitable for the disabled.
A private water taxi will ferry you across to Kalkan, or to secluded beaches only accessible by boat!
Kalkan is a pretty fishing town built on a hillside with a grid of streets sloping down to the harbour, just a 15 minute stroll away.
The restaurant scene is very good indeed, that caters for all tastes, from traditional Turkish dishes, fresh fish and international cuisine. Many restaurants have roof top terraces to enjoy great views of the bay, and not a McDonalds in sight!
Walk around Kalkans narrow winding streets and discover unique little shops that sell local crafts, from jewellery, carpets, ceramics, leather, Turkish delight and spices. Not to mension boutiques that offer their own alteration services!
There is a weekly local market in Kalkan where you can rub shoulders with the locals.
Explore the many interesting and beautiful sights in the area, easily reached by local transport, car or bike hire. Or choose from the many excusions.
Why not visit Patara beach , just a short bus ride away, with its stunning unspoilt 20km stretch of white sands, and clamber about the infinite archaelogical sites such as its amphitheatre?
Take local transport a little further along the breathtaking coast to Kas, and perhaps stop off to swim at the perfect little beach of Kaputas, with its turquoise sea.
You will never be bored with the countless thing to do and see!

We had a fantastic holiday staying at Cactus 218, the apartment was clean and had everything you need and the view was lovely as its at the top of the resort. We were there end of september and spent most of our time relaxing by the top pool which was lovely and peaceful. In the evenings we walked over to Kalkan and had some wonderful meals out and a few drinks after.
The apartment was perfect for us and we absolutely love Patara Prince and Kalkan. We will book again for next year. Not one complaint everything was great.
Apartment was in a great location for us,only a few yards from the well-stocked market-shop and the infinity pool, where the views down to the bay and up to the hills were great. The walk to the bottom of the site to get to restaurants, sea pools and sea was steep okay, but you could catch a shuttle bus if timed right.
The apartment itself was clean and pleasantly furnished, with good views from the balcony. Not having air con in the second bedroom was a disadvantage and we did assume wed have some sort of welcome pack, but didnt.
The resort was not busy and the staff generally were very helpful. The transfer from Dalaman was quite long but the current road improvements should shorten that.
Although the property had been freshly painted and was in good taste, the second bedroom was literally feet away from the road, meaning one had to keep the window closed all night. The bathroom is very basic with an inadequate shower that you can only use as a hand shower as the hook on the wall would only work for a seven foot giant. The water was either scalding or freezing cold and it was difficult at times to find a comfortable temperature. The space described as a kitchen is one unit, a plug in two ring hotplate and a small oven/grill. There was no salad bowl and only one wine glass. Even the most basic cooking in Turkey requires a salad! The tap in the kitchen needed a new washer and was loose on the fixing, meaning it dripped constantly. Despite reporting this to reception on three separate occasions nothing was done. The kitchen tap spurted out boiling water when you turned it on, meaning we both had scalds as the water came out in spurts. The kitchen and bathroom were inadequate and old fashioned, but this seems to be the way the place was built 15 so years ago. We were told that there would be tea and coffee for us on our arrival....this consisted of two teabags and a quarter of a small jar of coffee. There was only one duster sized tea towel so make sure you pack some. On a more positive note, it was only £299 a week which was very cheap as it comfortably sleeps two couples. The resort is very nice with a wonderful sea water pool and beautiful landscaping. The staff were on the whole friendly and helpful but perhaps the non appearance of the maintenance man is what Turkey is all about.....relaxed and friendly but not terribly efficient. There is a small supermarket just outside the complex which sells basics (but no fruit or veg you would want to do anything but throw out) so it is quite a trek into Kalkan to get stocked up (unless you want to eat all meals in the resort restaurants which are quite reasonable but not very inspiring.)
Rather than pack a beach towel, buy one of the cotton towels they use in the Turkish bath (in Kalkan) for about a fiver in sterling. That saves a lot of room in your suitcase and is fine for the pool to put on your sunbed.
Very satisfied with apartment - location, equipment and cleanliness.
