Things to do / places to visit
Ölüdeniz Beach

This beach is arguably the most photographed beach in the world. Otherwise known as The Blue Lagoon because it is an area of outstanding beauty. It is a popular tourist destination and has numerous facilities such as restaurants, shops, bars and the beach has shower, toilet and changing areas. The beach is free but the lagoon charges a very small entrance fee, but it is worth a day out with a picnic.

The Harbour at Fethiye

Fethiye is a lively bustling town with shops, bazaars and plenty of nightlife if required and is 4 miles from Villa Mendos. The bay provides a natural port and is an important stop for all kinds of boats. Many of the restaurants serve foods to suit all palettes and they are excellent value. From Fethiye you can explore the region, simply by taking a Dolmus (minibus) from the town centre.

Fethiye Market

The market in Fethiye is on Tuesdays and is definitely worth a visit. The local stall holders expect you to haggle and as a rule offer 50% less than they ask and end up at 60% - 65% of the original asking price for your bargain. Don't worry if you miss it, you can go to Hisaronu market (near the villa) which takes place on Mondays. Good luck bargain hunting! There are many to be had.

Çalis Beach

The beach is located 5 Kms north of Fethiye and can be reached either by Dolmus or Water Taxi from fethiye harbour. The beach is partly sand and partly pebble and stretches for many miles. Again, there are restaurants, bars and shops to occupy you while the children can be entertained in the Aqua Park situated nearby.

Kayakoy Village

This deserted Greek settlement was built in the 14th century on the ancient site of Karmillassos which was destroyed by earthquake. The village was abandoned after the Turkish and Greek governments signed a 'population exchange' agreement in 1922. The Greek population was exchanged with the Turkish population residing in Western Thrace. Worth a visit.

Had a brilliant family holiday. Really good location for a villa, especially if you use the side gate through the Orca Village to access the main town. Villa is in need of updating and content is a bit tired however very clean and well maintained. Pool and gardens are a good size and waking up to the garden tortoise was a bonus!! The photos really dont do it justice. Had a problem and called the maintenance company who came out promptly to attend to the issue. Good communication with the owner who was kind enough to let us stay in the villa on our last day until our late evening pick up, which was much appreciated. A file of local info may have been helpful in the villa but we had done our research before we got there so not an issue.

The villa was beautifull but just a few things need doing there wasnt any parasols and they are a must ,also the cooking utensils and crockery need to be replaced air con in the small bedroom not working right ,plus a microwave would be a good thing.after saying this we had a great time at the villa and would recommend it to people.thankyou.

Fantastic villa inside and out.only thing i advise is a shower outside for the pool and outside lights at night are off when you take the keys so if you return late at night it is quite dark outside.

We had a fabulous time. Everything we could wish for was there.
If I had one comment:
It would have been good to have a welcome pack. We arrived in the middle of the night with no milk or water.

Thank you

Spent 2 weeks here relaxing in 40 degrees heat, very glad of good sized pool, good sized bedrooms, plenty of wardrobe space in the double bedrooms, but not in the bunkroom. Very large garden, not too overlooked. As other reviews, we took shortcut through orka village to town in less than 10 mins. Staff at orka village very friendly and helpful. Advisable to have a torch as parts of the road are badly lit at the moment. Quiet area apart from local cockerel, nearby school closed during summer. Minor issues were, stubbed toe on lining on bottom of pool, back of large wardrobe and tv cabinet falling off. Plenty plastic cups for outside use, but no wine glasses for indoors. some door handles needing adjusted, our daughter (6st of her) fell as she sat on a broken dining chair. Also no perimeter lights were working, and cannot leave outside lights on as key attached to fob which turns off electricity, which is agood idea if only the outside lights were seperate as the fridge is. But these maintenance issues made little difference to a wonderful holiday in a good villa in a good location.
