Yalikavak the Pearl of the Bodrum Peninsula
Yalikavak is surrounded by some of the most spectacular scenery of the Bodrum Peninsula . The relaxed atmosphere makes it the perfect resort for those who want to experience the real Turkey, providing simple, authentic local life at low prices. Home to fishermen and sponge divers and a haven for yachts, the small harbour is lined with traditional Turkish restaurants. The charming village square is a popular meeting place with its many coffee bars and cafes. Its here along one of the cobbled streets where you can do a spot of shopping. There are lovely beaches and bays which have beautiful safe clear waters. There are many shops in the traffic free centre and every week the town hosts one of the biggest fruit, vegetable and clothing markets on the Bodrum peninsular. The mainly traffic free sea front walkway which stretches from the secluded beaches at the north end of the bay right though the village to the new marina at the south side of the bay, which is one of the most prestigious Marinas in the Mediterrean with it's restuarants, bars and exclusive shops, is wonderful for families and couples alike to explore the area in safety.

We had a fantastic holiday in Villa Nerium. The villa was perfect for our family of 8. My parents enjoyed being downstairs in their own room with full washroom. The rest of us were upstairs in 3 well-furnished bedrooms and 2 washrooms. The balcony on the second floor has gorgeous, unobstructed views and a beautiful breeze. The AC in the bedrooms worked well and we were able to get some respite from the heat outdoors. I would suggest to add AC or at least ceiling fans downstairs as it was very hot this summer. The kitchen was well equipped and we were able to make meals and tea easily and enjoy our food outside on the 8-seater table. The views of the sunset were absolutely glorious. There are no neighbours on the left and the ones on the right kept to themselves and we felt very private. The whole family loved the private pool and the kids wanted to come back from Gumusluk beach to have the freedom to splash around and be silly in their own space. There is so much to do close by and Migros (a large grocery store) is just a few minutes away by car. We used the dishwasher and washing machine daily. My husband is urging that I add that there is no WiFi and very limited TV channels :) We would definitely consider Villa Nerium in the future and recommend it wholeheartedly.
Overall this was a good value choice. It is not rated excellent because of proximity to neighbouring properties, there is no screening for any privacy around the pool area and the fittings are now showing their age. However we enjoyed our stay and the views from the villa are first class. We are a family of 6, 2 grandparents, 2parents and 2 young children. We fitted in ok though it may be somewhat cramped with a more active or larger party, and the pool is somewhat smaller than we would have preferred.
We consider a car to be essential. Loes, the villa manager organised our transfers from the airport and car hire for us and this is strongly recommended. She was a great help with little niggles we found.
Overall a sensible choice and rates very fair, you tend to get what you pay for and this was value for money.
I stayed here with my family and friends for a week mid August 2011. We had a fantastic break. The villas views were stunning - absolutely fantastic! The children loved the villa and of course the pool. We had a really great break and will definitely be coming back. Thank you Cath and Terri.
Excellent conditions, very nice view, the garden full of flowers, mainly bouganvillea which was gourgeous. The only inconvenient was the distance to a proper beach and restaurants.
We travelled by car from Romania so we recommend to hire a car.
The pool and the garden were clean and well looked after.
The kitchen and dinning room are very well equiped.
We enjoyed very much our staying and we strongly recommend villa
Lovely property and pool area but not many facilities within walking distance so would definitely need transport.
A very complete house, with inside as well as outside enough space/seats. Four bedrooms and three bathrooms.
More than enough for 8 people.
In the neighbourhood on wakling distance is a big supermarket (Migros).
For the beaches and sightseeing, as well as dining out, you need a car.
Yallikavak is about 5-7 km distance and Gümuslük about 3 km.
Recommand visit to Turgutreis a very nice village.
Not many beaches in the neighbourhood.
