Villa overview - owner's description
This property is known locally as the Ottoman House. It features a spiral staircase, topped with a glass dome built in a style reminiscent of the Ottoman empire. The villa is situated within its own grounds, with paved garden, parking facilities and private swimming pool and furnished to a high standard.
Situated near Gumusluk and Yalikavak (famous for sea food restaurants, diving and visiting celebrities), you will be able to relax in peaceful luxury while enjoying stunning views.
Built in 2004 with all of the charm of a miniature castle and all the advantages of modern luxuries, it has three bedrooms, two king-size doubles and one twin. There are two bathrooms with a shower and a turkish hamam, (similar to a wet room). The entire property has had complete refurbishment this year (2019)
Where is it?
Located in a quiet bay between Yalikavak and Gumusluk, an ideal setting for a romantic or relaxing holiday but within easy reach of all the attractions of Bodrum.
There is a small secluded beach, within walking distance (about 5 minutes) which has a very good fish restaurant and beach bar with all amenities.
Within 15 min walking distance there is a bus stop, a restaurant and cafe, a bakery and a very well stocked super market, where you can buy everything from sun-tan lotion to a television
Gumusluk is a well known fishing village which is a popular hangout for the rich and famous and boasts some of the greatest fish restaurants on the peninsular.
Yalikavak boasts a new fantastic marina with some very impressive yachts. There are also plenty of shops, restaurants and a super market here.
Is a car essential?
Although there is a good bus service, a car is recommended as the area accessible but also quite hilly.

We have just had the most wonderful week at this lovely house. It has a lot of character, is very nicely designed inside - simple and unfussy - and the garden and pool areas are really pretty and well-maintained. The views from the upper floor, particularly the dining area, are amazing.
I think at one point the house was one of just three or four in the neighbourhood but there has been a lot of building in the bay over the last few years (there still is but thankfully you can't hear it from the house and pool) and the house is now surrounded by modern developments and the garden and pool a little overlooked. We were lucky as it was early in the season and the surrounding properties were all empty but as the weeks go on it will get busier and less tranquil.
There was a problem with the pool when we arrived but this was dealt with quickly and both Husseyin (who looks after the house) and Fiona the owner were attentive to and reasonable about the problem and it was happily resolved. The roads in the area are not brilliant and our hire car got quite a bad - and expensive - scratch so be aware and take care when driving.
The house has everything you need but the kitchen is quite basic so bring kit if you're planning any gourmet cooking (we weren't). We donated a cafitiere to the house as there wasn't one. Husseyin is friendly and helpful and has really good English, we were always pleased to see him when he came for the daily pool check and he was there to welcome us and to see us off.
We are a same-sex couple and were made to feel entirely welcome and comfortable - there was no weirdness from anyone we met in the area. In fact we didn't really feel 'noticed' at all and this really helped us relax and unwind.
It's a ten minute walk downhill from the house to the lovely beach at Koyunbana Bay and the little beachside restaurant there is family owned and very friendly. It's a 5 minute drive to the nearest Migros supermarket and there is a Macro at Yalikavak Marina - about 5km away - along with coffee shops and high end stores. Recommend the Teras restaurant on the roof the Migros if you want to eat without having to drive (great daytime views) and also Limon on the way to Gumsluk - lovely hillside setting - but you'd need to book as it's very popular.
We came away refreshed and revitalised from our holiday at the house and we will definitely be booking again.
Had a marvellous time at the villa, it was as described clean, plenty of linen and towels. Huseyin in Turkey was friendly, helpful and fixed the toilet very quickly when it stopped flushing.
Pool is in sunlight nearly all day, its lovely and warm.

Very nice, very clean, an unique view of the sea, close to the beach, a car nedeed, very nice landscape.
A very comfortable property with lovely views. It was very relaxing sitting on the terrace and looking over the bay usually with a pleasant breeze making the temperature ideal. The pool was delightful and the restaurant by the beach was very reasonable and good and it was delightful to sit there by the beach listening to the waves. There were plenty of things to do. A boat trip is a must, <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 />Ephesus is fantastic and Bodrum was lovely. Some of our party also went diving. The fish restaurants in Gumusluk are excellent. A really good location for a holiday and Houssein couldn't have been more helpful.
Just right for a family with two teenagers, who will appreciate the split-level. Fabulous views, well-stocked supermarket nearby, and great base for exploration of area.
