Overview

The villa is situated in a rural location near the foot of a mountain range. Villa Meliha is surrounded by cotton fields and lemon and orange and pomegranate groves. Our nearest neighbours are a farm, and 2 other Oruc villas which are both a whole field away from us. We are short distance from the Itzuzu beach road. It is a 20 minute walk into the village or a 5 minute cycle.

The villa has 4 double bedrooms downstairs, each with en-suite shower-room (the main bedroom has a Jacuzzi) and dressing room. . Each room has doors opening out onto it’s own large patio or balcony. There is a large (100m2) open plan living room/ kitchen upstairs with blaconies to the front and a large balcony with panoramic views at the back. The exterior of the building is partially clad in the local stonework and has attractive wrought iron work on the balconies. There is a fire-place for burning logs in the winter and each room has an air conditioner which is also a heater. The kitchen is fully fitted (dish-washer, w.machine ceramic hob and microwave, fridge-freezer and electric oven). The villa is a modern design with plenty of space and light. The floors are of the local marble (travertine) and all the wood-work and much of the furniture is hand made by local craftsmen.

There are sofa beds upstairs for extra children and below stairs the villa will comfortably accommodate 8 people. (Two double beds and four singles). Bedding and towels are supplied. The spacious (1300m2) gardens have a 10 metre swimming pool with a paddling area and a Çardak which is a Turkish style wooden garden house (for those lazy siestas in the cooling shade). Bicycles are available for your outings to the village and there are little shops nearby for basic needs. If you have not arrived by hire car the local taxis are very good and it is only a few minutes to the local supermarkets and the village itself.

Villa Meliha Pool and Garden
The Villa is planted with a variety of fruit trees - fig, peach, nectarine, olive, orange, lemon, pomegrantate and there is a willow growing up for shade and a eucalyptus to deter the mozzies! Oleander grow around the outside of the garden and there is ample lawn space for poolside games.

Villa Meliha is also available for long term winter lets from the month of January - March or longer in certain curcumstances. Ideal if you are retired or even thinking about trying before you buy a place in Dalyan

My wife and I have been on many villa holidays and can assure anyone thinking of renting this villa that the photos and description are accurate. It is well maintained and offers very good facilities. It is tranquil and secluded (not overlooked) yet within reach (20 mins stroll or 5 mins on the bikes) of Dalyan restaurants and tourism. The pool is superb - very clean and well maintained, little chlorine and a good temperature.Sunbeds are all in good condition, with padded cushions. Well appointed kitchen with a big fridge. All bedrooms have good beds, AC and ensuites that appeared as though recently refurbished. Car port is great for shading a car. Whilst there is no tv service, the home cinema system was good for DVDs, of which there are several in the villa. There is a very good visiors review book and guide book with comments from those who have stayed. It will help you appreciate what things there are to do in the area and which restaurants to visit. We truly enjoyed our two weeks, thank you.

The villa is stunning and surrounded by an area where you have nothing much more to do than choose what to eat and drink and visit wonderful places, Another visit full of surprises and enjoyment which was made even better by finding yet more wonderful places to visit. My own particular favourites are the Golbasi Restaurant and the Hidden Garden and the Hamam at the BC Spa. Penny H, Surrey UK

Villa Meliha is a beautiful villa, we have taken five villa holidays over the years and are all agreed that this villa was exceptianal. The pool and gardens are beautifully maintained our only criticism was that it would be safer if there were steps at the shallow end of the pool. As we like to cook when we are on holiday it would have been nice if there were more dishes and pots and pans as we found that we ran out of plates before the dish washer was full but this was only a minor inconvienience. We would deffinatly recommend this villa to friends as well as the Dalyan area as there is so much to see and do . Thank you Judy and Alistair for sharing your wonderful home with us.
'A wonderful villa to experience and an overwhelming view of the Tombs and the pomegranates. Already thinking about Coming again next year!'Daisy aged 12 4th October 09
A lovely tranquil spot. The views are stunning and simply take your breath away. We loved being surrounded by orchards and listening to the sounds of the farmyard. The villa is beautifully designed so that the breeze travels through the building, keeping you cool. It was nice to feel that we were in the heart of rural Turkey but close enough to Dalyan to enjoy the wonderful riverside amenities there. Although some distance from the sea the journey to the beach via the lake near Gokbel is a dream and we would also recommend the river-boat journey to Iztuzu beach, very relaxing and the chance to enjoy some amazing wildlife. This villa is fabulous and the surroundings amazing. We loved the pool and the upside down Villa. Would we go to the villa again.....not while with Oruc. Our first party arrived 20mins early to the airport and had to wait 30 mins for Oruc transfers to turn up,we asked several times for the bike keys to take the bikes out, still waiting and noboby turned up at all to do any cleaning. We ended up washing our own sheets and towels, not what I want to do on holiday!!! Loved the villa not Oruc.
Owner reply:

Oruc have been established in Dalyan for many years. They have a high reputation for being extremely efficient with airport transfers. They have had no complaints in the past. Our previous guests misplaced the padlock for the bikes unbeknown to Oruc. The villa rental price includes a change of linen and towels when the stay is more than one week. There are plenty of spare sheets and towels in the villa and if the guests wish an extra change of these then it is available on request.Judy McGrigor - Villa Meliha

Aside from 7 days of unbroken sunshine and the Villa's superb setting, what really makes a stay there perfect is the attitude of the local Turkish community, not all of whom rely entirely on tourism for a livelihood. Their genuine warmth and friendliness leaves one feeling really welcome and this extends to the hassle-free centre of the main village in Dalyan where, after our evening meal, at the resturant's invitation (and at no charge) we were taken by boat up river to the lake where the engine and lights were cut, allowing us to drift and look at the sky to watch meteorites streaking across countless stars. The stunning, natural views and abundance of wildlife in the area leave one breathless and the Villa's design, comfort and facilities provide for restful downtime during even the hottest of August days we were surprised that our children didn't develop gills while we were there, as they were rarely out of the pool, sea or lake!Lastly, Oruc - the Villa managers - proved invaluable in arranging trips further afield and in expediting seamless airport transfers - little was too much trouble for them. Finally, while much of the local charm is generated by the simple way the locals farm and live, one should be prepared for the odd 'farmyard aroma' when walking in the area and not be too perturbed by close encounters with cows, goats and the odd sheep!
