DALAMAN THE NEW TOURISM AREA OF TURKEY:
20 km away from Dalyan, with its 24 coves leaning their backs to the pine forests, very long, untouched coasts, renewed modern international airport and new tourism investment plans including a marina, golf resorts and many other touristic establishments, Dalaman is rapidly getting one of the most popular areas. In Dalaman, and especially on the Kapidag Peninsula, there are coves of extraordinary beauty, some of which can only be reached by sea. The Dalaman Valley is very fertile and every season offers you an abundance of fruit and vegetables. Some of the green plants not even known in big cities, such as beetroot, mallow, nettle, clayey, patience, purslane and yellow herb, are turned into delicious meals in the hands of local women.
The Turkish word 'Dalyan' means fish trap. This is where the name of the village comes from, but now Dalyan is a good place to experince traditonal turkey and moderen turkjish life and start to exploire, Ancient ruins, mud baths and loggerhead sea turtle breeding grounds are just some of the magical features of Dalyan. Beach sports, bike rides and river tours will satisfy your inner adventurer. Don’t miss the ornate Lycian tombs, carved into the cliffs along the Dalyan Çayı River circa 400 B.C
In ancient times, Telmessos, founded around 3000 B.C, was famed as the city of the oracles. The ancient city was founded on a large area of land running from the foothills of the mountains and all the way down to the gulf. It is not easy to visit the surrounding region in just a few days. Fethiye is a very lively town, definitely worth a visit with history, culture, nature, aqua sports, beaches, paragliding and a vast array of restaurants and shops
Having an appearance of a small charming fishing village, on Fethiye-Mugla highway, Göcek has recently become one of the important centres of yacht tourism. Besides its natural harbour, it is a unique tourism haven with its numerous islands and bays, ancient places and pine forested hills. The town with its marina and increased number of modern facilities is just a 30 min. drive from Dalaman

3 out of 3 people recommend staying here
It was a fantastic time at Villa Kara. Beautifully situated and absolutely clean. Richard J. has absolutely great people who care about this property. We are very appreciated that we had contact with the locals and were even invited to a fantastic Börek.
We as a family can only recommend this villa and we will certainly come back. Nice pool, good facilities of the house, everything was clean (very clean), nice garden and absolute silence (except for the Muhezin :-)). But the one holding it. Many, many thanks for the quick and good service. Family Graf from Switzerland
I think the first thing to say about this property is to not be put off by the lack of reviews. It almost put us off, but the property is great, and has a visitor book actually in the property itself which is chock-a-block full of positive reviews. Obviously by the time youve read them, youre already there so i thought it worth mentioning online....!!
We spent 2 weeks in July\Aug 2013 in Villa Kara, and had a great time. The villa is on one floor, each of the rooms are really spacious, especially the bathrooms. The air con works well and is every bedroom and the lounge. The pool has lights and is quite big compared to other properties weve been to.
The villa is not overlooked by any other property, and as you might see from the photos backs up onto a cliff face. What this does is allow you to have an hour or two in the early evening whereby youre not worried about the kids getting sunburnt in the pool. The rest of the time we had to keep an eye on how long they were out in the sun because, at the end of July\start of August Turkey is really really hot, we measured 37oC in the shade 45oC byt the pool almost every day...!!!
In two weeks we saw a cloud once, and that didnt last long.
The Villa is out of the way in a rural little road with no local shop, youll definately need a car to get around (we went with erboy car rental - they were OK), itll be a 5-10 minute trip by car to one of the roadside markets, or 15 min into Sarigerme or 20 min to Ortaca\Golbasi or Dalaman to a supermarket.
theres a mountain road to Dalyan which has quite a lot to do with turtles, mud baths, boat trips, markets etc and we also went to Gocek to book a 12 island tour which is definately recommended. You can do this for £15 each on a big boat with loads of other people or hire our your own smaller boat (for about £120). We asked at a restaurant one night and the owner knew a guy, wink wink nudge nudge, next day we were out on his boat, amazing clear water to snorkel and beautiful scenery, just brilliant.
The locals are also really nice, especially the lady down the road who cleans the house\pool. A really nice villa.
oh and be sure you have £10 per person when you get off the planes as youll need it to buy a visa to get into the country
