A newly built, luxury single storey villa situated in a quiet area of Dalaman. Spectacular mountain views. 3 bedrooms 2 bathrooms, swimming pool. An ideal base for touring Turkey's Lycian Coast.
Villa Joy is situated in a quiet part of the quaint Turkish town of Dalaman. The English translation of its address is Moonlight Street which really summarises it's location. Methap Sok has a street light but, bring a torch for those late night / early morning arrivals and departures.
Villa Joy is large and airy. It is surrounded by fields and orange and lemon groves. Do not be suprised to see cows, goats and sheep grazing on the other side of the villa walls.
The property will sleep 6 in comfort. It has a large terrace with barbecue - perfect for al fresco dining and entertaining.
The swimming pool and gardens are fully furnished with sun loungers, tables and parasols and a selection of pool inflatables for children of all ages.
Although you can walk into Dalaman - the nearest bakers being ten minutes, and central Dalaman twenty minutes - a car is essential to make the most of the many attractions within a 30 minutes drive, although the dolmus stand (local buses) can be reached within 15 minutes and from where you can take a regular bus service to Sarigerme, Salsara Bay, Fethiye, Gocek, Dalyan and Olu Deniz.
The king size master bedroom has a large ensuite with spa bath.
All bedrooms are fully furnished with ample storage space.
A separate utility room provides washing machine and ironing facilities.
A complimentary guest welcome service is provided. Guests will be contacted by the villa manager who will give advice on the dalaman area, buses, trips and other informations. Guests can use the villa manager for essential support during their stay. A welcome pack containing essential foodstuffs to start your holiday is included.
Dalaman is an area of natural beauty located between the sea and the mountains. It is located close to many areas of historic and geographical interest.
Over exploitation of the area is prohibited by the protection given to the rare loggerhead turtles that frequent the river and the beach.
Dalaman town has many shops restaurants bars and tea gardens. It has its own uncommercialised beach with lots of wildlife. The town is ideally situated for many resort areas but perfect if you require a quieter place to base yourself. There is a tunnel to connect the towns of Gocek and Dalaman.
Dalyan is a must. The Turquoise river is a conservation area and offers interesting river cruises. Visit the Kaunos archeological site and see the carved rock tombs. Walk along Iztuzu beach - the worlds 6th most famous beach - which is a sanctuary for sea turtles.
Golf courses are due to be completed in the area in 2008.
The villa was exactly as described. The manager Mehmet, was very good at keeping in touch and most helpful. The pool was fab and not as deep as some other villa pools which I preferred. The area was very nice and welcoming, not a lot of tourists but friendly locals. Local area had everything we needed and very good location for travelling to other areas such as Fethiye, Akkaya Gardens, Dalyan, Gocek, and Marmaris 1.5 hours by car. A must is the local Turkish Hamaam -absolutely amazing experience and very cheap. We felt very comfortable and at home in the villa and it was very clean and tidy. A/C in bedrooms, showers and jacuzzi all worked well.
If theres anything which was a bit negative was the lack of / slow communication from the owner prior to travel and the fact that the laundry wasnt collected once during our 10 day stay although it should have been collected twice a week.
In addition the villa is in need of a little minor maintenance -a light switch came off in our hands, (we had to put it back together), a wardrobe door fell of the hinges and almost landed on my foot, the tap water in master en suite was very very weak and a towel rail fell off the wall. These are things we wouldnt expect for the price paid for the villa and the otherwise lovely place we stayed in for 10 days. However, it didnt spoil our trip as we were too busy having fun and did enjoy returning to the villa each night for relaxation.

This Villa is one that certainly lives up to its name. The week that we spent at this villa was one of the best weeks of our lives. It offered peace and tranquillity, beautiful surroundings and breath taking views, provided us with everything we needed, nothing was missed out. superb service and help from the manager MEHMET, who helped us everyday with bookings activities and travelling to ensure we had an excellent time. The villa has been made with love and provides every holiday essential you can think of. You can save suitcase space as the villa comes equipt with plenty of sun lotion of all factors, celotape, swim gear, cooking condiments, hairdryer, shampoo, toothbrushes etc. everything you need has been thought of and provided for to ensure you are looked after and this made our holiday completely stress free and relaxing. It is situated in a very quiet area, you will not get bothered with traffic noise or noisy neighbours. You have gorgeous mountain views from the garden and was the perfect place to escape the stressful life of London and soak up the sun whilst relaxing in peace and having quality time with family. We couldnt have enjoyed our stay at villa joy more then we did and would definitely recommend this villa to anyone wanting a beautiful and peaceful place to stay and relax with the option of having fun too. There are plenty of things to do in nearby towns- camel riding, beautiful outside restaurants, boat trips, turtle beach, jeep safari, river rafting, quad biking, markets, etc. The only downside was our stay was not long enough, we didnt want to leave!!! Thank you Steve and Elaine for your perfect villa. We had a fantastic holiday and hope to revisit soon!

this house was so beautiful and everything one could possibly need for a holiday was provided even down to hair straighteners and beach / pool towels. The house is in a great area with easy travel to lots of beaches and towns, mud baths, Turkish bath, diving, the gorge etc., and with the house manager (Mehmet) anything can be arranged easily 24/7.
All dealings with the owners were easy and they do everything they can to make your stay as pleasant as possible.
Dalaman itself has many shops, cafes and restaurants, most of which will pick up and dro p off at the villa if you need them to. In Dalaman we would recommend Cinar restaurant, Silver Café Bar (at the far end just behind the Front Street) and the café in the park at the far end of Dalaman. We also went twice to the Treehouse restaurant which is in beautiful surroundings with great food.
The service for the house is second to none and the Turkish people are brilliant, nothing is too much trouble.
We would definitely recommend this property and this area of Turkey to all our friends and family.
Hopefully we will be able to come back and stay at this property again. Thanks for a letting us use your home.

We had an excellent two week holiday in this beautiful, spacious and well equiped villa - not having to bring beach towels what a relief - helps with the miserly baggage allowance!
The villa has an ideal pool that has plenty of natural shading which ensured a pleasant temperature even in the heat of the midday sun. The terrace provides a great place for dining and the bar-be-que is a nice touch.
The managment staff were exceptionally helpful but not intrusive.
We thought the location of the villa was ideal for touring the various towns and beaches along this stretch of coast line, however we were just as content to laze around the pool listening to the occasional sounds of a farm animal or two!

Villa Joy was a real home from home for our weeks stay. It had every single modern convenience we could think, but in a quiet Turkish town where everyone was very friendly. We loved the pool and the G&Ts in the evening on the terrace using limes picked from one of the 2 trees. We also enjoyed hearing the sound of the odd cow and chicken over the wall, which made you feel miles away from some of the busy resorts along the coast although in fact Fethiye was less than an hours drive.
The beach at Sarigerme was ok if you wanted a resort feel, but we enjoyed Sarsala and Sigla for far quiter experiences. Just be careful with Sarsala as most of the journey is on unmade roads.
You have to visit Akkaya Gardens Restaurant for a meal in a tree!
Large terrace with dining table and chairs.
Poolside loungers, tables and parasols.
Gardens to all aspects.
There are two mountain bikes available for guests use.
A complimentary welcome pack comprising bread, milk, water, eggs, butter, fruit juice and jam will be provided for each stay.
