Places of Interest
DALYAN: Only 20 minutes drive to the west from the villa, you will find Dalyan. A small but exquisite fishing town, which lies next to a meandering river, teaming with boating trips. After spending your time browsing the typically diverse Turkish shops/market stalls, why not relax and take a look at the Lycian tombs, carved into the rock face, from the comfort of one of the many romantically set restaurants lining the Dalyan riverside.
In the evening there are many bars and restaurants to cater for all requirements.

SULTANIYE HOT SPRINGS & MUD BATHS: Situated just before Dalyan Creek joins the lake, you can give yourself a body pack of mud and then wash it all off again in a sulphur pool with temperatures as hot as in the Sultaniye Baths ( approximately 40 minutes from the villa )

DALAMAN: Located 5 minutes from the Airport, (10 mins from villa) Dalamans’ emerging prosperity embraces tourism with a flourish. The Dalaman region offers the tranquillity and friendliness you would expect from cultural Turkey, together with the excitement that goes with an area that has just been promised 10 billion USA dollars investment, making this part of Turkey one of the most vibrant but none the less beautiful places to visit. However, this is still a typical local Turkish town.

SARIGERME BEACH: Sarigerme is set on the coast of Southern Turkey just a few miles away from Dalaman and the International Airport. It's the closest beach to Dalaman, and some visitors would argue that it's actually the best beach in the area.
The long, sweeping beach disappears off into the horizon and is framed by pine clad mountains, making it all the more scenic. The beach is sandy and there are good facilities here that include changing rooms, showers and toilets, plus a range of places to buy snacks and drinks and rent beach chairs and umbrellas. To maintain the beach to the high standards it enjoys, there's a small usage fee that visitors will have to pay.
From the beach you can enjoy a selection of water sports, and if you're feeling energetic you can swim out to an island, called Baba Adasi, not far off shore. The views back to Sarigerme Beach and the rest of the coast are pretty special, and if you do some exploring on the island you'll come across an ancient structure that's thought to have been a lighthouse.

IZTUZU BEACH: This is one of the most beautiful beaches on the Mediterranean coastline. This sand bar that separates the sea from the mouth of the Dalyan Creek is an excellent swimming beach. Situated 30 minutes from Dalaman, Iztuzu Beach has also been preserved, as it is one of the last nesting grounds for the endangered Loggerhead Turtles.

GOCEK: Often referred to as the ‘St.Tropez’ of Turkey, with its exclusive yachting marina and unspoilt beaches, Gocek has emerged as one of the countries most affluent areas to live in Turkey. Gocek came to prominence in the 1980’s as the favoured holiday retreat of Turgut Ozal, Turkey’s go-getting Prime Minister and later President. It is easy to be lured into spending a lazy summer afternoon on one of the many excursion boats that can take you to neighbouring towns or one or two of the private beaches.
You can explore one of the 12 Islands off Gocek Bay, by hiring a boat or yacht, which also provides excellent scuba diving opportunities.
After a hard day's leisure, enjoy one of the many beautiful waterfront Turkish restaurants, where you can witness some of the most spectacular sunsets over the mountains and bays.
The new tunnel, which was finished in the summer of 2006, reduces the journey by car to 20 minutes from Dalaman/the villa.

EPHESUS: ( EFES ) Why not explore the well preserved marble ruins of the ancient capital of Roman Asia, with its 25,000-seat Great Theatre. One of Turkeys most visited tourist sites, Ephesus was once the home to the Temple of Artemis, one of the seven Wonders of the World. Situated on the West Coast, Ephesus is a good 3-4 hour drive from the villa.

KAUNOS: Visit the ancient ruins of Kaunos, situated approximately 10km from Dalyan, and 40 minutes from the villa. Amongst the ruins of the city, you will find an old theatre, a large rectangular building that was probably a temple, others of uncertain description, a Byzantine church, and very curious rock-hewn tombs.

KAS: Only 2 hours drive from the villa, you will find the beautiful town of Kas. Apart from the bustle of the town's busy harbour with its numerous restaurants, bars and shops, you will find a well-preserved Ancient Theatre, the only remnants of ancient Antiphellos, the old Lycian town.

So what more can you ask for? Villa Izzy is the perfect destination for friends and family who want a luxury villa set in peaceful surroundings, with the option of exploring this beautiful area easily too.

Villa was amazing, set in beautiful surroundings. Only comment would be that it is slightly more remote from towns than anticipated. Fabulous for a very relaxing break though, highly recommend.

We have just returned home from a wonderful holiday at Villa Izzy. every consideration had been taken into account to make our holiday enjoyable. The location was peaceful and close enough to enjoy the areas to the west and east though Dalaman itself did not offer much. On the last night we visited Akkaya Gardens restaurant and I wish it was an area we had explored more as there seemed to be activities being offered in the area. i.e canoeing etc Sarigerme had a lovely beach though proved to be a disappointment in the evening as many of the restaurants and shops were owned by the same owners. This gave it a feeling of just being geared up for the tourist and we were asked many times what country we were from so they could do there sales pitch. It left a feeling of being ripped off. Dalyan is beautiful and offers boat trips that cover visits to local areas, though Caunos the ancient city can be reached by boat and small walk without the expense of a big trip. (10L each) Likewise the Itzuzu beach can be reached independently if you have transport. Gocek is worth a visit though not sure if there is a beach. There is much to do in the region as well as relaxing by the pool. Ahmet was very helpful and spoke very good English. The only downside was that maid service was offered but this was a no show.

From Camberley, United Kingdom Aug 2012

The villa is roomy, well equipped with a large sun terrace, but there is shaded areas throught the day.Being up in the hills, there was a gentle
breeze, very refreshing! The pool is cleaned daily, and the gardens are
well maintained.
A car is essential, but the main roads are good, and travelling to towns and the beach was easy. The car rental man,Ahmet, was very helpful, and there are emergency telephone numbers in the book at the
villa if needed
We all had amost enjoyable holiday and will certainly consider going

Fabulous is the only word for our holiday at the villa!

It is a truly wonderful property. I loved that we were not overlooked by any other property.

Definitely rent a car though.

The villa is beautiful and set in peaceful, tree-lined mountains which were very picturesque. The villa itself has good quality fittings, was very clean, spacious...the kitchen was fully equipped and we were very fortunate that the previous occupant left lots of food! Bonus! It really is a 5 star villa. The management company were good and reacted in a reasonable time to our problems.
I would recommend this villa to those looking for a peaceful, away from it all location as the nearest good restaurant is 15 mins away and the nearest tourist resorts were 25 mins away. Sarigerme beach is about 25 mins away but you have to park, then wait for a tractor then pay again to access the beach then pay again for loungers! It took about an hour to get on the beach. Turtle beach (Izitsu) is lovely and takes about 35mins by car if you continue through Dalyan....a little too remote for our family.
My tips for the owners are.....1. Leave ant killer available as the maintenance guy killed the ants he saw but didnt leave any for others so we bought our own 2. As there was no maid service in the 15 days we were there some cleaning products should be made available for the guests to use (if they wish)

Everything about this property exceeded our expectations from the car hire company meeting us at the airport and taking us to the villa ( what service !) to the location and decor of the villa . Maybe the isolation of the villa is not to everyones taste - you definately need a car and do need to drive everywhere- however for us it was perfect . The site maintenance support was excellent and so friendly and the villa owner ensured that clear details of local amenities/contacts etc were sent to us before our holiday in addition to a detailed information file left in the villa. We found the villa clean and well resourced which included basic food supplies ( water, tea, bread butter jam etc) and wanted for nothing. There is no maid service however and my only slight critisism was the lack of cleaning materials. However overall I couldnt fault the whole holiday experience from the hospitable & friendly locals, fantastic food, wonderful beaches and sights and of course the villa. Thank you so much to the owners and we are booking next year as long as we can still get in !!

We really had a holiday of our lifetime at Izzy Villa. Right from the start, it was perfect. Claire, the owner left no stone unturned to ensure that we had a great time at her villa. The villarenters website was very user friendly. The arrangements for the pick up of the keys, car hire through Mr.Ahmet, the maintainence of the pool on a daily basis by the always smiling Ali, the cleanliness of the property, .... (I could go on and on and bore you) was par excellence. Without the slightest of hesitation I would strongly recommend this villa to anyone who wants to have a great time in Dalaman. It was described by Claire as a Hidden Gem, it turned out to be the Hidden Kohinoor.

Great and safe location, stunning, clean villa and views. The villa was very well provisioned with everything you would possibly need. Would definitely recommend it to anyone who is looking for a peaceful, pleasant getaway. Jenny Birney, May 2013

Aug 2011 This luxury Villa did Not disappoint it was exactly as the pictures and website described and more. The space was amazing, my children loved having so much area to their disposal. The Villa had all what we needed for an enjoyable holiday. The guest book was extremely helpful as were the welcome pack and goodies left in the fridge. The kitchen was well stocked and I could not fault the owners they thought of almost everything, from the lovely towels placed on our bed and extra sundries. This Villa is placed 40 mins away from the hustle and bustle of tourist towns, it is quite friendly and peaceful, my girls spent the days swimming in the pool and me drinking G&T’s by the pool side, it was exactly what we wanted from our holiday. We shall be back. Chireal Shallow , Sanderstead, Surrey

“Stunning villa in the best position on the complex. Superbly equipped with everything you need for a relaxing, tranquil holiday – even the children are catered for with toys and inflatables (my grandson was very impressed!) Huge pool area with lots of sun loungers to while away the day before sparking up the BBQ and dining on the terrace – heaven! Very professionally managed. Definitely going back. Tina from Hythe, Kent May 2011

We had the most wonderful holiday at Villa Izzy. The villa is fantastically well equipped – catering for both family holidays, or as we did, a group of 4 friends. The villa has so much space that when we come back next year we will be bringing more people. Claire organized everything without a hiccup. The car hire arrangement is a lovely bonus – meeting you at the airport and then showing you to the villa takes all the stress out of arriving in a foreign country – they even took us to a supermarket on the way so we could buy a few extra bits for the night (our flight didn’t get in till after 10pm). When we arrived there was a little welcoming pack – with bread, butter, eggs, milk and juice – just in case you don’t have time to visit a shop on the way. Claire and Dave have collected an excellent folder stuffed full of information about the villa and what to do in and around the area – a fantastic bible of where to eat, places to visit, market day information, maps and important information about the villa. We referred to it almost everyday! To say our holiday was relaxing is an understatement. The swimming pool and huge lounging area at the villa, in the glorious mountains was the perfect way to spend an afternoon reading a book in the sun. We had to tear ourselves away so that we could explore the surrounding areas. Iztuzu Beach is a must see – and only 30 minutes drive from the villa, stopping off at the small fishing town of Dalyan on the way (go to the local butcher there). I could ramble on for far too long about our holiday, so I will stop myself now – I can’t recommend Villa Izzy enough – but you should find out for yourselves! Villa Izzy is the ideal villa for a family or a group. Its extremely spacious (biggest villa we have ever booked) and is perfect for adults to relax and children to run around. The outside space is also excellent with plenty of room for lounging by the gorgeous pool, eating at the lovely big outside table next to the outdoor BBQ or to simply enjoy the sensational views. And there is plenty to do when you want to leave the villa (which you mostly won't!) There are some beautiful fishing ports and marinas nearby and some great entertainment for both children and adults. And the food is gorgeous everywhere you go. It was one of the best holidays we have ever had and are really looking forward to going back.Holly Millbank and family. May 2009.

Thank you for a most enjoyable and relaxing time away from the hustle and bustle of ‘normal’ working life in the UK. The private pool made our stay a bliss with two children in tow, as with the beautiful scenery around. By day we toured the local towns/villages and by night we cooked away on the bbq at the villa, played in the pool and then relaxed on the sun beds watching the stars above. The villa itself was beautiful and extremely clean and tidy. The mini bus hire was a must have due to the villa’s location, and a good touch of them meeting us all at the airport due to our late flight arrival. We will be returning again in the future. The DyersAugust 2008

My first thought as I walked into Villa Izzy was “the photos don’t do it justice”. I was impressed! It is an extremely well maintained, clean and large luxurious villa. The fixtures and fittings are obviously of excellent quality. My husband and I stayed with our 2.5 year old son, and four other adults, and we all had plenty of space. The beds are very comfortable and the complex has 24 hour security, making for a good nights sleep. This villa is ideal if you have children as they are well catered for (with little touches that make a difference e.g. children’s plates/cutlery, high chair, bath toys and inflatables). It is the uppermost villa, meaning its not overlooked which is a bonus. It’s lovely having the pool area to relax around, the sun loungers are very comfortable and it was great having the large parasol to provide shade for my son. You will need a car – if you’re a nervous driver (like me) – trust me, driving in this region is surprisingly easy. We used the owner-recommended company AS Car Rentals who were faultless. My family and I had a fantastic holiday, with no regrets – we would highly recommend booking Villa Izzy. The Jaggs family.Sept/Oct 2008

Having been to Villa Izzy two years running we have explored thesurrounding area especially Gocek and Dalyan and have thoroughlyenjoyed our time. The villa is very spacious and has everything youwould need for a good holiday including the sun soaked swimming pool. For those middle of the day hot temeratures the covered terrace area complete with tables and chairs is ideal for a cool off, and you can also watch the beautiful sun set from here.Thank youJane Slingsby and party.June 2008
