Although Akyaka has grown in recent years, it remains a picturesque village. There are no high-rise hotels - any construction has adhered strictly to the traditional architectural style of the region. Numerous wooden balconies, intricately arranged pan-tiled roofs and delicately carved fretwork shutters give the houses that tumble down the hillside towards the beach their distinctive appeal.
The atmosphere, too, remains very Turkish. There are several small grocery shops, a fruit and vegetable stall, and a choice of restaurants. You can still sit and watch elderly women driving their flocks of goats and sheep along the streets.
The Palm Tree lined sandy beach shelves very gently into the sea, making it ideal for young children. Akyaka is surrounded by forestry commission land on one side and by a conservation area on the other, thus offering superb opportunities for exploring. The remarkably untouched shingle beach at Cinar is a 50-minute walk away.
Please be aware that like most resorts in the Southern Turkey area there can be power cuts and water problems although these can be for short durations, this is out of anyone’s control and no one can be held responsible and no compensation will be paid,
Akyaka - Conservation Area
Akyaka/Gokova is the jewel in the Crown of Turkey, and one of the most beautiful un-spoilt coastal resorts you will ever find. The good news is that the Turkish Authorities are keeping it this way, as Akyaka is a conservation area.

The village is very pretty especially with the abundance and perfumes of colorful flowers.
It is said that because of the springs and many eucalyptus trees in and around Akyaka it makes a very therapeutic atmosphere.
The village has numerous food shops and a village bakery.
A permanent fruit and vegetable market ensures you have the best choice of locally grown fruit. There is an excellent choice of restaurants ranging from specialist kebab makers and family run restaurants to the slightly more sophisticated riverside restaurants (10 minutes walk away) where fresh water trout is offered alongside a selection of delicious bream, bass and mullet.)

The people who takes care of your organization stay are wonderful and so helpful. Akyaka is a very lovely turkish place where you can find everything you need. The beach is really nice and fun if you have kids ! The region of Akyaka is so so beautiful and we saw a lot of treasures : Bozborun, Dalyan, Gökova Bay... Dont hesitate to book for the villa Dolphin !!!

This property was quiet, had a lovely view of the mountain and was ideally located for both the beach and town center. The villa itself was spacious, very well equipped and comfortable.

This was our second trip to Villa Dolphin and loved it just as much as the first time. It is an ideal family holiday for those who like to get away from it all. There is plenty to see and do and the people of Akyaka are warm and welcoming. The Villa is well postioned, close enough to the village, shops and beach, but situated on a quiet residential development.

Villa Dolphin is a spacious, clean villa in a lovely quiet location. The pool which is opposite the villa is very quiet, and we rarely saw anyone else there. Within an easy walk are riverside and beach restaurants and local shops. Our two teenagers were quite happy despite the lack of disco's , they found enough to entertain themselves.A very relaxing place in a more traditional area, Akyaka hasn't been spoilt, but remains a friendly resort.

The house is comfortable, clean and nicely furnished. The beach, the boats and the bars are all pleasant. The restaurants are varied and mostly good. Our teenagers were quite content with the the local entertainment for the week even though it is only a small town. We hope to be back!
This is a lovely airy villa with good facilities and convenient for walking to the popular beach, tourist shops and restaurants, or to the top of Akyaka with its less touristy shops and the many kahves where the locals play cards and board games. Akyaka is so authentically Turkish youll not find a Sunday roast here, the people are welcoming, and watching the locals driving provides plenty of amusement as you relax on a terrace eating or sipping chai. Airport transfers and day trips arranged through Mepar Tours (who manage the villa) are great value for money.
Great villa in a fantastic location. Easy walk to the town, river, beach and restaurants.
This was my second visit to the property and it more than exceeded my expectations. Further
improvements had been made which were an improvement on the last time I visited.
The only complaint was that it would had been helpful if we had been given two front door keys,
We had a lovely holiday at Villa Dolphin and would not hesitate in recommending others to take their holiday in Akyaka.
While not criticisms there are some observations I would like to make:
1. It would be preferable if the weekly washed bed linen could be taken away to dry rather than left to dry at the villa.
2. The hot water tank's capacity is barely enough for 3-4 persons and would not be enough if more persons were taking showers consecutively.
3. A kitchen clock would be a great help!
These are just observations and did not in any way interfere or affect our holiday at 'Villa Dolphin'
Hi, The hot water system had a fault which has now been rectified. This system has served up to 8 persons very satisfactorily for several years. The local maid service is free and done once per week, and is part of the local system that the washing is dried at the villa, but only takes a day to process.
We have just returned from having a very relaxed holiday at Villa Dolphin, we spent ever day either on the sandy beach, (which is only a short walk) or around the pool.We were really amazed how cheap it was to eat out or to buy any groceries in the shops, compared to the UK..
We would recomend going to Mulga market, also boat trips around to Cleopatra' s Island. It was wall to wall sunshine..thank goodness for Air Condition at the Villa. This accomodation is very spacious and clean and offers good value for money.
HiWe stayed for only 1 week in Villa Dolphin recently, and we wished we could have stayed longer as this villa is so lovely inside and outside. It is so well equipped, and the mountain views from the lounge and bedroom balconies are breathtaking. The location of this villa is so beautiful we just did not want to leave. The beach at Akyaka is superb and the locals are so friendly. There are many restaurants in the village and they adore children.our favourite restaurant was "The Golden Roof" near the bottom of the main village street, here you will find a good choice of menu, and the owners always make a fuss of you. Thanks for a lovely holiday we will definately be back.Doreen, Mike, Rebecca and SamManchester
We had a great time at Villa Dolphin!
Akyaka is perfect for family vacation and the location is excellent for many exciting excursions. The Villa is perfectly situated and equipped. My only complain is about the luck of A/C at the lower level, which was noticable during the very hot days of August, but this is truly minor. We will definitely come again and highly recommend it to everyone (even that we would like to keep Akyaka quite and undiscovered...)
Hi, what sometimes is missed is that if guests close the window shutters on the Ground Floor during the day, this actually keeps the villa cool.
We had a fantastic time at Villa Dolphin. Beautiful villa in a perfect location with lovely scenery. The pool is opposite the villa. The beach, gently shelving, is just a 15min walk along the quite backroads. The river is even closer, wonderfully clean and great to watch the fishing boats come in. Resturants are lovely, something for everybody. Very friendly locals.
We had a wonderful three weeks at Villa Dolphin. Our first time in Turkey was a real treat. Akyaka is a small, attractive town and Villa Dolphin is well located to take advantage of the beach, restaurants and river it offers. It is a well appointed villa with air con and a very quiet pool. It has everything that a family could wish for really good holiday.
