Stayed Saturday 20 December 2014 with Family
We did not have a great experience at the mountain breeze villa. The first impression were good, the villa looked as described and was big and airy. However there were no curtains or blinds in the whole property. The owner contacted us to tell us that they had been sent away for repair and would be back on the Tuesday (we checked in on Saturday). This was rather an issue as sunlight streamed into the bedrooms at 6.30am each morning as we have 2 young children there was no chance of anyone sleeping in. Tuesday came and went and there was still no sign of the blinds. The owner offered to send a private chef to cook a dinner for us in the villa as way of compensation which we accepted. On the day of the meal we were asked to return to the villa at 4pm to let the chef in. We had the meal, which was not great. We were left with the dishes to wash up. The curtains still did not arrive until the Saturday by which time we had had a full week with no curtains. I appreciate that things need to be fixed, but we made our booking in June for December so there was plenty of notice that we were expected. The other problem we experienced was that on several of the nights there was loud thumping bass music from down the road. On one occasion this continued until 4am and started up again at 6am! As the villa is in the middle of nowhere this was the last thing we expected- we booked thinking we had chosen somewhere that would be good for peace and quiet. On the second Monday we returned home from a pleasant day at dolphin bay to discover a whole music festival had set up at the end of the road. The villa was vibrating with the loud music. We decided to pack up and return home. As we live in Thailand this was easy for us to do, but I would not recommend that you book this villa as your base if you are traveling from further afield.
Owner reply:

Dear Alison Thanks for your review. We are sad that your experience at the Mountain Breeze Villa was not as pleasant as expected. Cutain repair had promised us to install the curtains before your check in but delayed for us two times. We are truly sorry that the lack of curtains made you wake up too early, we hope however that the fabrics that our maid provided to cover the windows until the curtains arrived remedied this. The private chef that cooked for you was not our ordinary chef as she was cooking in another Villa at the date you ordered dinner. It was a stand in that we have not used before. As her food was not great we will not use her again. We are very sorry that you were the ones that had to experoience this. By booking private chef well in advance the probability of getting the ordinary chef is greater as she would then not have been prebooked by others. A true misfortune that there was a big music festival set up in the neigbourhood during your stay. We have never experienced this before. Our guests usually compliment on the serenity and peacefulness of the location. There seems to have been several contingencies coinciding that made your stay at the Villa not as relaxing as it should have been. We would gladly welcome you again if you would give us a chance next time you visit Sam Roi Yot. Best regards, Stefan Stolt

I stayed in the Mountain Breeze villa in September 2011 with my wife and our baby. We had a very pleasant time and this secluded villa was exactly right for us as we could unwind from our busy life in Bangkok. The location of the villa is very private yet close to a number of amenities like restaurants, shops and the beach. The well equipped kitchen was perfect for us as we could shop cheap seafood in the local markets and prepare it at the villa. I think the villa is perfect for families and if you have young children like us they even provide a baby crib. Our daughter could crawl around on the lawn in the spacious garden and in the afternoon we could visit the beach. The villa is serviced by a house maid that keeps the villa clean and can provide you with laundry service. In all I would recommend this villa for families, couples, a group of friends or anyone that just want to relax in a very laid back natural surroundings.

The service we experienced at Mountain Breeze villa was wonderful. Owner Stefan responded quickly and thoroughly to any of our questions about the property or the surrounding area. We felt very much taken care of. This villa is a great choice if you want to really get away from it all. It’s in a gorgeous, remote setting. Though there is no aircon it’s well-ventilated with fans and it cools down at night very nicely. It’s comfortable and really very scenic. We enjoyed the views from the outdoor shower! In order to enjoy this property we thought it was essential to have a vehicle. We rented a motor bike so we could get to the beach and the restaurants on the beach road. We had wanted bikes but as it turned out a motorbike was a better choice, especially to get to the Sam Roi Yot national park. The first night we organized a private chef through Stefan and the local lady who cooked for us prepared a delicious meal. I recommend this to avoid having to go out before you know the area. It’s dark at night so better to figure out where things are in the day.
I and my husband enjoyed a 4 nights stay at Mountain Breeze in Sam Roi Yod. The most wonderful thing about staying here is the location. The villa is well located in the beautiful nature which is quiet and relaxing throughout the day.The villa is located with only a few short minutes away by car or motorbike to the beach and good restaurants but away from the busy streets. The property manager also provided us with excellent services and where to go/eat/shop recommendation throughout outstay. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Mountain Breeze and would highly recommended it to friends and family who are looking for a nice place to enjoy their time in the nature.
I had an excellent holiday at Mountain Breeze Villa with my two friends. Sam Roi Yot is a very nice, laid back area with serene beaches were you can be all by yourself. The views from the Villa itself are amazing and the setting very natural and peaceful. We spent time at the Villa enjoying bathing in the outdoor bathtub, which has a nice view to the green hills. There are some really god seafood restaurants by the Sam Roi Yot beach especially Jim Daeng located right to the left when reaching the beach from the Villa. I would recommend Mountain Breeze Villa to anyone that want to relax comfortably in a very scenic natural setting.
Extremely clean beautifully designed and fully equipped with all the function that one desires to have on a vacation. The villa has beautiful mountain view and you could reach the white amazing beach just minutes away. I went with my friends we stayed for four days and we really enjoyed our stay i left feeling not ready to lo leave this beautiful house . I would absolutely recommend it for anyone who wants to have a beautiful holiday.
This was our second year in a row at Mountain Breeze and once again we spent two wonderful weeks there with our children with the days just floating by. Sitting alone in a wide open valley, with the limestone peaks in front, it is easy to feel as if you are miles from anywhere but the beach is just 500 m away and there are a few local shops and restaurants nearby that met our immediate daily needs. The local people are very friendly and we got to know many of them as we rode bicycles everywhere, including down to the main beach area (small resorts, bars, convenience store, restaurants) and the open markets about 5kms away along the beach road. The villa is a delight, perfect for 4-5, open and cool and there is absolutely no need for air-conditioning even during the 33C days! This is a place that is perfect for those visitors who want to listen to the wide variety of birds, watch fireflies, stars and sunsets and be not far away from the comforts of a holiday but far away enough! We will be back again next year and that is a major recommendation because I usually do not return to places I have vacationed at before…
Can only agree with other reviewers. The villas setting is breath-taking and even surpassed the very high expectations we had as a result of the photos on here. The views from the terrace of the limestone peaks are wonderful and if you are a nature lover the garden and surrounding area is abound with a huge variety of birds, butterflies and reptiles. Would also add that the kitchen equipment is of an extremely high spec which made self catering all the more fun. Although you feel that you are in the middle of nowhere the beach and very scenic beach road with its various eateries and stores is under a kilometer away. We hired mopeds, they are handy for popping out to the local shops or to the restaurants to get a takeaway and the beach road is quiet and safe. We had a fantastic 2 week stay - the villa is highly recommended if you like getting away from it all but still enjoy a bit of style and comfort.
Fantastic Service is very good. I like the architectural structure of the villa. Cause without air-condition inside the villa is quiet cold to stay. And I just fall in love with the location of the villa. I just got what I intend to get from my tour to Thailand. A cool and sound atmosphere to get relax and enjoy the nature. But don’t forget to keep close the mosquito nets to get rid of mosquitoes at the evening time. Mahtab Chowdhury, Dhaka, Bangladesh, June 2012
Serene and sedative environment with the beauty of nature just around the corner. Its the perfect place to get away from the hassle of everyday life, for a week or for a month. Also very helpful and amicable owners with lots of interesting tips on what to do and see in the surrounding area. Five star recommendation. Ala Shakrah, Stockholm, March 2012
Serene beauty and Play from morning to night It was a great pleasure to spend two weeks at Mountain Breeze with my wife and two children, aged 18 months and 5. The location is perfect, surrounded on all sides by jagged limestone mountains yet just a short bike ride to the beach and the sounds of birds and cool breeze are constant companions. We loved the openness of the home, the light, the coolness and the simplicity and that even at the hottest part of the day air conditioning was unnecessary thanks to the ceiling fans and the breeze blowing through the house. My children quickly made friends with the housekeepers children and their puppies and were always playing outside or sharing time with us or at the housekeepers little house next door. We soon got to know a number of the local people and enjoyed going to the market and riding along the beach on our rented bicycles everyday. Although the house is all by itself, which we loved since the whole valley was like a beautiful picture in front of us, it is very near the beach which has a number of restaurants and shops along its six km. stretch so we were cut off but not out of touch! The manager, Oi, was very sensitive and helpful and the children really enjoyed her kind and soft presence. I would highly recommend Mountain Breeze to any families or couples that enjoy comfortable simplicity and nature at her most sublime. Thank you! Chris Summerville, Kyoto, Japan, Feb 2012
Relaxing and peaceful The house is located in a quiet area of Sam roi yot with beautiful mountain view. It is a perfect place for our family who live in noisy Bangkok. Here we can have a garden for our kid to crawl around. The big bathtub is an excellent chill out for our little daughter. They even provided the baby cot for us which was very convenient. The manager was very helpful and always received our call even if it was very late. It took us just a couple minutes to get to the beach, small shop and restaurant. Here you probably need a transportation to travel around. I really recommend this place for everyone as a family or a group of friends who want to have a private moment in a stunning surrounding. Yosa, Bangkok, Oct 2011
Im really happy with my stay at villa mountain breeze. The house was very comfy, and the surroundings spectacular. Its a true joy to open the door in the early morning, greeted by the mountains in the horizon. Especially if you like me is fond of beautiful nature experiences. The closest beach is good and and the protected wild life park, with its caves, is something you must see when getting here. I would recommend renting a scooter or a bicycle, since its the best way to have everything within reach. And remember that the mushrooms growing in the grass during raining season might be more than good fun if you eat to many.. Have a good time anyhow..! /Leonard, Oslo, Jan 2012
What a great place!!! After a 30 days tour of Thailand this was the perfect place to relax and recharge our batteries! The house is very compy and cosy, located in a wonderful natural environment, far different from the busy and somehow chaotic Bangkok (which is actually just two and a half hour car ride away). We just rented the place for a few days but I would strongly reccomand longer stays. If you enjoy peace, sun and walking in the nature this home its certainly the place to be. Moreover, Stephan & Pui (the lovely Swedish-Thai couple that projected and supervised the construction) are definitely helpful, kind and, at the same time, very professional. We are convinced that you wont regret you choice! Ps. Thai, Swedish, English, Spanish, Italian...spoken!!! Gian Paolo, Turin, Sept 2010
Having a great time staying here. An excellent resident to stay with your family or friend. I spent time there with a group if my friends last two summers and it was great. If you are dreaming of anywhere private, wrll-equiped, private small-pool and not far from the beach and all convenient places. Clean and well maintenance. This is your dream place. . Aomme Narissa, Bangkok, Feb 2011
I love staying at a private house. Ive stayed there twice, during the rainy season and winter. Nice weather. And I loved the quietness and privacy. Really enjoyed breakfast in the shady garden and the view of the mountains. Great for family or a group of friends. Siriwat, Bangkok, Jan 2010
A wonderful retreat The house is very spacious, airy and well designed. I love the big open air bathroom and the vast bath tub. The atmosphere is very good, private and very peaceful. Lalinthip Amorsintawee, Bangkok, October 2010
Fresh air, moutain scenery, great place for relaxing This villa is located just a few minutes away from the quiet beach of Pran-buri surrounding by Sam Roi Yod moutains which is great landscape panoramic 360 degree moutain views and is furnished with nice suitable accomodations. Take a deep breath with fresh air, relaxing and enjoy your vacation stay in such a nice serene place. Asking for sea food service for your special meal, it is very cheap and fresh. If you like hiking or adventure sport activity, dont miss to visit Sam Roi Yod national park where provides many travel attractions espeacially Tum Pra Ya Na korn cave where is the most featured travel destination. With kitchen facilities, you can enjoy your easy breakfast and coffee in the comfortable atmospheric garden whether or you can eat out beside the Pran buri beach at Jim Daeng restaurant where serves fresh and delicious sea food just five minutes from the rental home. For shopping tips, one hour drive to Cha-am beach several markets take places such as all night market, floating markets, and plearnwan. Fonn, Bangkok, December 2011
Staying in this wonderful villa provides an ideal atmosphere in a tropical setting just in between the mountains and the beach. Waking up to the soft mountain breeze, having breakfast in the garden overlooking the mountains and enjoying your own outdoor pool makes this place a dream for those wanting to explore Thailand at its best. I can highly recommend staying here- only minutes away from secluded beaches, local restuarants and stunning views outside the window. Marie, stockholm
I went there with my friends just to spend time together but I got more than what i expected. A very comfortable place for you and your friends to stay. The view is amazing and the weather was just amazing. I love the villa style and how they decorated it. Absolutely worth your money and time. I will go back for sure Anusorn Toh, Bangkok, August 2009

The best resting Its a place that suit for one who need a good rest whether youd like to quietly rest or hangout with friends or even a party. Great air will blow your stress away. Moreover, the closeness to the sea give you variety of activities and seafood restaurants so that you can have fun and have a fresh seafood. Karn Pisanupoj, Bangkok, October 2011
This is a good place for relaxing. If you want. 1. Beach 2. Mountain 3. Nice weather 4. Fresh seafood 5. Natural surrrounding You should go there! Nan Kunaporn, Bangkok, October 2011
Mountain breeze is a gorgeous little house with beautiful views of the surrounding hills. It is quiet and out of the way. You definitely need transportation if you stay here, it was much too far to walk to the market and restaurants. We rented scooters and it was perfect. The Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park was outstanding and definitely worth several days of our time. We would definitely stay here again. The manager, Oi, is fabulous and will help you with any needs.Pelham family, California, USA, Nov 2011
I was staying in Mountain Breeze Villa in august 2010 and I must say It really was a unexploited paradise! For me its very important to have very good food where ever I travell and I must say that this district really have the best seafood in Thailand. I heard from other people that the seafood in this area should be the best in Thailand and I must say it was true. Its a must to go here and try their sea food in this district. I must say its the best seafood in Thailand. I dont remember the name of my favorite restaurant beside the sea but I got the recommendation to go there from the owners of Mountain Breeze Villa so they will know what restaurant I mean. But there are so many good restaurants in that area. Its very close to many beaches and also close to a very famous cave on an island close to the villa. The island has got a very nice beach. The house is very modern and I felt at home immediately I got there and it really feels luxurious. The evening view on the porch is wonderful. The warm evening sun against the mountains nearby makes them present a warm colorful scenery. Perfect for a relaxing evening with a nice drink and good company beside. Also there are many golfcourses in the district. I can really recomend this place!!! Per Göransson, Aug 2010
Special is that, it is the only house in this quiet area but not to far from the beach and nice seafood restaurants. The house is new and decorated with tasteful furnitures. from the huge tarrace you have a magnificent view into the national park and in the evening you can enjoy romantic sunsets from there. The price is correct and the service was excellent. I will come back for sure. Chris Zett, Linz (Austria), December 2011

Moutain Breeze Villa is a very relaxing place. Nicely situated, it is surrounding by nature. It is as well close to the beach. Perfect for families who need calm, the house is also a great place for several friends to meet up like we did and spend a nice time creating souvenirs. Regarding the villa itself, it is very clean and has all the equipement you could find in a european house. Maite, April 2010
You have the closenes to the beaches, mountainbikeing trails and many mountaintops, fabolus sourundings and nature, close to everything but at the same time verry private...i cant wait to go there again,i love them mountainhills. Rasmus Engman, December 2010
It has been absolutely wonderful in every way! We are very happy that we found this peaceful place for our first stop in Thailand. The house is fantastic and the staff was just outstanding. Thank you very much. Leslie Pelham with family, November 2011
Holiday visit at Mountain Breeze Villa - Sam Roi Yot I visited and spent my holiday time in Villa Sam Roi Yot during 10 days in March of 2010. Here I had a most pleasant time. I would say that here you can experience something enjoyable and suitable for everyone even if you have the most different demands and expectations for a holiday stay. This is a place to stay for the family, the younger or older couple or the single. I had my most delightful time here and I truly recommend you a stay and visit to this place. What really attracts me is that here you are in the middle of nature with just a short distance, a stone´s throw, from luxury, different events, and party-areas. The house is newly built and has a tasteful furnishing and interior. The house is surrounded by a delightful garden and has a lovely sight, from the windows and garden, over the mountains of the natural park Khao Sam Roi Yot. When you are here you can choose to have a stay in peace and quiet in the villa and the beautiful garden and bathing in the little Villa pool. Or you can choose to participate in party-life, luxurious events and SPA-treatments in the areas nearby. Of course you can do both! During my stay I visited the famous nearby national-park Khao Sam Roi Yot. I also enjoyed a bit of the luxury at the seaside just a 15 minutes’ walk from the house. I loved eating at the small local and simple “restaurants” at the seaside with a most tasteful and cheap kitchen. I also treated myself the opportunity to have a visit at some of the very special “boutique” resorts. At those places you experience something like visiting an exhibition with different themes in design and fitting up. Often they also have home-made food and SPA-possibilities. Of course you can enjoy your wishes for night-life events and different possibilities and at the same time take care for your health at the famous Six Senses and Evanson Hotel. If you are interested in sports besides walking and trekking in the national park you can learn kite-surfing, play golf and do canoeing. After a day of experiencing adventure and bathing you can return to the peaceful Villa Sam Roi Yot and take care of your impressions and experiences of the day. Lena Lind, March 2010
