Charming home occupying one of the best positions on a small, quiet development, with beautiful swimming pools and superb panoramic ocean views across the Gulf of Thailand to Koh Phangan and beyond

Baan Tii Hok is a two storey two bedroom semi-detached home built on a small development of eleven units in the unspoilt area of Bang Por on the island of Koh Samui.

Situated a very short distance from the main ring road on the island it is easily accessible and at the same time, finds itself in a most secluded hillside location. The location is ideal for a family holiday where the main objective is to relax and enjoy the sun beside one of the two large infinity edge pools.

Bang Po beach which extends for approximately 3kms along the cost is a mere ten minutes walk or two minute drive from the property

The views from the property are spectacular from the balcony, terrace and living room. Through the coconut palms, the turquoise waters of the Gulf of Thailand stretch as far as the eye can see, interrupted only by the islands of Ko Phangan and Ko Tao in the mid-distance.

The property is far enough away from the clamour of the night life areas of Chaweng and Lamai, not to be spoilt by them, but close enough to visit these hotspots by car, taxi or songtaew.

Car hire is essential, but is relatively inexpensive and opens up the whole of the island to visitors. Competitive rates have been agreed with a local car hire company.A hire car will also make shopping very much more convenient. There is ample parking on the site.

There are a number of beach-side restaurants on the ring road at the end of Soi 5. The Haad Ban Po Restaurant, directly opposite the entrance to Soi 5 is highly recommended. The food is excellent and Mo, the proprietor offers a take-away and delivery service.

A host of restaurants are available in Maenam and Nathon, which are only a fifteen and ten minute drive respectively, from the property.

Steps from the pool area lead to a terrace, which is furnished with basket weave type furniture, from which the view across the gulf can be enjoyed.

Inside, the property is tastefully furnished, mostly in hard wood, either Chinese Oak or Teak, with very large L shaped sofa in the living area. In the same area, there is a large LED SMART TV, together with a DVD player and satellite TV receiver.

A selection of novels and games is available for the use of guests.

The whole of the spacious ground-floor area is open plan and air-conditioned from May 2012. The kitchen is fully fitted to include an electric oven and gas hob, fridge-freezer, microwave, kettle and toaster. There is a comprehensive selection of glassware, crockery and cutlery, including plastic ware for use in the pool area. The dining area is furnished with a magnificent teak and water hyacinth dining table with matching spoon-backed chairs .

There is a large storage cupboard under the stairs and a guest cloak room between the living and dining areas.

A mini-safe is installed for the storage of valuables.

The lounge and dining areas are both fitted with efficient ceiling fans as an alternative to the large airconditioning unit.

Upstairs there are two spacious, air-conditioned bedrooms, both en-suite, with a Chinese oak king-size bed in each, together with ample storage space in the form of wardrobes, bedside cabinets and chests of drawers.

Each bedroom opens onto a balcony and the front balcony is furnished with a table and chairs, making this an ideal spot for alfresco meals whilst admiring the sumptuous view across the ocean.

All windows and exterior doors are fitted with insect screens, enabling the villa to be opened up to refreshing breezes, without interference from insects.

The 360 degree video gives a more detailed view of the development. Please note the villa interior featured in the video is not Baan Tii Hok. The layout is the same, but furnishing is different.

For shopping essentials, there is a 7-11 store less than 1 kilometre from the property, a Tesco Lotus store (similar to a Tesco Express in the UK, but larger) in Nathon, a mere ten minutes drive away and a Tesco Lotus superstore on the ring road, outside Chaweng, twenty-five minutes drive away.

For other shopping there are myriads of shops in Nathon, Maenam, Chaweng and Lamai. Souvenir hunters should have no fear of leaving empty handed.

Water sports are abundant in the areas of Maenam, Bophut and Chaweng and there are numerous areas of local interest to visit, including the aquarium and tiger zoo in the south of the island, which offers a spectacular bird and tiger show. In addition daily monkey shows are given in the Bophut Monkey Theatre, which gives a vivid insight into the lives of these lovable creatures, including a demonstration of how they earn their keep harvesting coconuts from the trees.

Excellent golf facilites are available on the island, particularly in Maenam.

Boat trips to Koh Pangan and Koh Tao are available from Maenam and Ban Rak.

The must-see unique rock formations at Hin Ta and Hin Yai, the mummified monk and a visit to the Marine Park are also essential items to put onto anybody’s itinerary.

Both swimming pools are chilled to ensure that the water temperature does not become too warm. The local ambient temperatures are such that without this facility, the water in swimming pools can reach temperatures resembling those of a warm bath in the hot season.

The development benefits from on-site staff who clean the villa twice a week. They do launder the sheets and towels at an extra, reasonable cost to guests of approximately £1 per kilo. If required, they will also deal with your own laundry. The staff are extremely helpful and will assist in any way required.

This beautiful property consists of 11 semi-detached villas sitting in immaculate grounds, with 2 pools in front, and a view that has to be seen to be believed, all surrounded by lush green vegetation . It is situated in a beautiful and quiet part of the island. The house was serviced and beds were made every day except Sunday, and linnen was changed once a week by very friendly and helpful staff.
We stayed for nearly three month, and could not have been happier.

The property is set back and is approximately 1km in from the beach. You do need a car but that is pretty easy on Koh Samui and then you can get around exploring different beaches. The house is very spacious with 2 large bedrooms each with shower room en suite. Wifi works beautifully, TV has 3 English-speaking channels and there is a DVD player. The complex has an on-site husband and wife team who look after the villas, hand over keys and come in daily (except Sundays) to tidy up and replenish while you are out and about. I was not expecting this so it was a lovely bonus! Restaurants are just at the bottom of the road and 7/11 and chemist nearby. I thoroughly recommend the villa.

We stayed at Kalara Gardens in April due to the travel delays caused by the ash cloud in Europe. The villa was booked at very short notice and the owner could not have been more accommodating when we made our initial enquiries. It was comforting to be able to contact him directly to confirm arrangements. The villa was extremely well maintained and the onsite staff were warm, friendly and very helpful. Though a car is necessary, we did find the villa conveniently located for the shops and beaches. It sits in a very pretty and peaceful location which is great if you want to relax and chill out. It has all the comforts of home with plenty of utensils, etc. and the only minor drawback is the lack of air conditioning downstairs. Though there is a ceiling fan and you can leave the front doors open, air conditioning would be of benefit in the lounge area. That said, we had a thoroughly enjoyable time and I will definitely be recommending Kalara Gardens to family and friends.

In response to comments from our guests, air-conditioning was installed in the ground floor area in May 2012. All of the rooms in the villa now benefit from this facility.


From Bangkok

Would benefit from screens on main patio doors so these could be left open without the fear of mosquitoes. AC down stairs would also make the temperature more comfortable. Ideally a microwave and washing machine would be very handy.

Otherwise the property is very well maintained and the location was quiet but ideal for a relax. You need a car to travel around to see the sites of Samui. Nice swimming pools with lovely panoramic view. Site staff were accomodating and helpful.

We value our guests feedback and are pleased to say that a microwave has now been installed and mosquito screeens, which are already fitted to every window, have been ordered and will be fitted to all exterior doors early in February 2010.

This villa is really spectacular. Wake up in the morning and make breakfast overlooking the beautiful colours of the sea that vary from pale blue to turquoise is an unrivaled sensation. The villa is beautiful. It is part of a complex of 12 villas, all immersed in the tropical vegetation, with a well-kept garden, full of palms and fruit trees, two swimming pools, pool table poolside, ample parking. The interior is tastefully, furnished with taste and modern furniture. There are all the comforts and there is absolutely nothing lacking! John is very helpful and always ready to help you. Highly recommended!

Again same location and again we enjoy a lot Left on Aug 18, 2017 for a stay in Aug 2017 Nous avons séjourné de nouveau dans cet appartement avec une très belle piscine et une vue magnifique sur la mer. Le personnel qui s'occupe des villas est efficace et charmant. La location d'un moyen de transport est obligatoire et par sécurité je recommande une voiture. vous pourrez alors profiter d'un large choix de restaurants à proximité ainsi que de nombreuses plages. J'espère pouvoir y retourner une troisième fois l'été prochain. Merci encore John! We stayed in this house with a very nice pool and a wonderful view of the sea. The staff who run the villas are efficient and charming. The rental of a means of transport is compulsory and for safety I recommend a car. you can then enjoy a wide choice of restaurants nearby as well as many beaches. Idyllic Left on Aug 6, 2017 for a stay in Jul 2017 Fantastic location, with unforgettable views. The villa is extremely comfortable, and splendidly equiped. The communable areas, together with the swimming pools are immaculately presented and maintained. My 16-year son and I, particularly enjoyed our outdoor pool table competitions. Neighbouring Bang Por is laid-back and quiet, but with an ample choice of restaurants, adjacent to a beautiful white sandy beach. There is also an extensive variety of water sports nearby

Peaceful oasis on Koh Samui. Left on Apr 7, 2017 for a stay in Jan 2017 This beautiful property is situated in the northern part of the island, which is also the most quiet. It nests app.1 Km from the coast on a hillside, and the view has to be seen to be believed. The house is well equipped, has all amenities including a well functioning wi-fi and tv + full kitchen. It has house keeping incl. laundry but no room service, it is strictly self catering. We have stayed there twice, and hope very much to be back next year. We can definitely recommend this property.

Fantastic accommodation with every thing provided, and in a great location Left on Sep 18, 2016 for a stay in Aug 2016 We arrived early evening to be greeted by Somjit, who together with her husband, Nan, manages the resort. She helped us unload our luggage and show us around the house and then Nan drove us down the road to the local 7/11 to get immediate provisions - an early indication of how helpful both would be. We found the house to be well located - not in the bustle of town but near enough to the main road to be able to get around easily. You definitely need a car or moped (not sure I'd risk a moped myself!) as the road down from the house is very steep and would be hard work climbing back up in the heat. As stated in the title, the house is really well equipped - there wasn't anything we thought was missing, even including an insulated bag which was useful for the beach. The air conditioning worked really well and was needed - although we managed with the ceiling fans in the day time. Travelling with two boys meant wi-fi was a welcome addition and it was very fast and efficient. The pools were lovely and in fact, most of the time we had them to ourselves! We travelled around the whole island and visited many beaches. The local beach was not the best one but it certainly wasn't the worst and using sun beds for the price of a drink at a local bar was fab! There are plenty of restaurants at the bottom of the road to the house and we ate at most of them. They are all good value for money, providing a range of Thai and European food, and with good service. We rarely travelled much further to eat. The information that John provided before we arrived in Samui was invaluable and really helpful. This was our first visit to Thailand and we will definitely be returning which is a testament to both the high quality of the accommodation and the friendliness of the Thai People.

"Fabulous peaceful town house" We love Bang por it's peaceful has a fabulous beach and plenty of lovely little restaurants.This town house is set up on the hill with fantastic views.we loved the space with 2 bedrooms,large lounge / kitchen and smart Tv.A few steps from the terrace and your were in the infinity pool.We did walk down to the beach one day but transport is a must really.We had daily cleaning and plenty of towels and kitchen equipment.Baan tii Hok offers more than most self catering properties.The neighbour has a mix of locals and only 1 or 2 descreet top end hotels.We felt safe and secure and I felt happy in running the local area alone in the morning. This has to be the best place that we have ever stayed in. Everything is fantastic. There is AC in every room, it is serviced and cleaned daily, the pools are fantastic, the views are stunning. For the price, I doubt you will find a better place.

Baan tii Hok is well maintained and has everything you need to have a comfortable stay. It is in a quiet location which is great if you want to kick back and relax at the end of the day. The kids loved the swimming pools and most of the time they had them all to themselves! The maid was friendly but discreet, she cleaned the house 6 days out of 7, this was always once we had left the house and before we returned later in the day. As we had been to Bangkok and Chiang Mai prior to arriving in Koh Samui we had a bag full of washing which I asked the maid to do,it was returned the next day and only cost us £2 for everything - fantastic service! As it says in the description you do need a car or some transport as it would be difficult to get a taxi. We hired a car from someone the owner recommended which was great and meant we could explore all of Koh Samui. There are a number of very good restaurants at the end of the road and if you had a torch you could possibly walk to but the road is very dark at night and with two children we opted to use the car! The food in general was good value and delicious and there are plenty of restaurants to choose from that cater for all tastes where ever you go. John (the owner) was very helpful with any questions we had prior to and after we had arrived and gave us some good recommendations - thank you John!

“Great location, great stay” Reviewed August 7, 2014 We were looking for a quiet holiday, no crowds,,,a bit of peace. We had a great stay at Baan Tii Hok in July/ Aug 2014. The Villa is very comfortable and well appointed. You do need transport to get about though. We had a scooter for $10 per day booked through the management company which was perfect. We took a transfer from the airport organized by the owner which was 800 Baht, pretty much the same cost as a taxi without the hassle, and we would recommend this. The Villa is up the mountain side a couple of minutes from the ring road but this gives it great views, very peaceful, 2 great infinity pools, and daily cleaning service. Well appointed with AC in all rooms. The closest beach at the bottom of the hill, 2 minutes by scooter, is nice but no good for swimming so we went 10 minutes East to Mae Nam beach which is great. There are properties locally on the beach which are twice the price but all you will have is rocks or shallow water. The water does not get deep enough to swim before Mae Nam Lots of attractions close by, we loved the Elephant trek at Living Thailand and also the Tiger/ Aquarium tour. There is a Tesco in Nathon, about 10 minutes away, West on the ring road, for any provisions you may need, and a 7-11 at the bottom of the hill for water and beer. For a wider selec tion go 30 minutes into Chaweng Tesco. There are enough local restaurants down the hill to keep you happy, but also some great restaurants around the Island worth a visit. You will not be disappointed if you book this property, and If we go back to Ko Samui, we will stay here, no question.
