A beautiful villa in a quiet area. The area has everything needed: great massage place ("Koi"), 2 small stores, a few family run restaurants (especially the Pad Thai lady) and the beach close by. Perfect for adults or a family who are looking for peaceful surroundings. The villa is not far from the Fishermans Village (10-15min by bike). The services provided are excellent: airport pick up/dro p off, cleaning services etc. I will certainly recommend this villa to everybody. Thank You for an amazing holiday.

My stay at Ban Tai Tara 1 was amazing! My wife & I are in our mid-late 30’s and were looking for a modern villa with a private pool that was off the beaten path, but not so remote that we had to head for the hills to get to it. We did not want to rent a villa in a ‘compound’ or commercial development, but rather wanted an upscale property with privacy. The Ban Tai property was just that. The villa appears to be recently built (or at least well maintained) and is furnished with modern and sturdy furniture and equipment. The pool is well serviced and maintained, and villa cleaners come 2 or 3 times per week. The grounds were my favorite part of the property. The villa is 100% enclosed (by an 8’ wall) and has 360 degrees of well-maintained foliage and tropical plants, also maintained by a grounds keeper each week. The location is on a small side street, off the main road so it is very quiet, and the local neighborhood has adopted the property as well. Homes across the street offer small shops for basic needs (laundry services, food, snacks, drinks, beauty parlor, massage, scooter/jeep rentals, etc.) and if that does not suit your needs there is a 7-11 shopette just a short walk away. Also, the neighborhood has a couple of rustic local restaurants where great food can be had for just dollars per person. The property is about 200 yards from the beach, which is very picturesque (the view has blue waters and small islands dotting the horizon) but it is not actually a beech that I would most likely go and sunbath or swim at as it was a bit rocky and the beach was quite narrow. All in all, this is the gem of the island. I’ve been an expatriate for over 13 years and have vacationed around the world (and many times in Thailand & Koh Samui) and I can say with certainty that this is my new destination vacation spot.

We are a family with a 7 and 9 year old. The house suited us well as it had two bedrooms, a kitchen for early rising children to get a bowl of cereal and a short walk from one of the most undeveloped beaches on the island - with beautiful sand and good water quality. The street has all you could want from small shops selling fruit and groceries, a very good masseuse, a choice of restaurants varying from budget to a couple of small resorts on the beach. Our hosts were polite and very accommodating. The house is beautifully decorated and we appreciated the little extras Victor included such as a few groceries, insect repellant incense and lamp. It was a relaxed holiday made even better by a comfortable, private and peaceful residence.

We were over the moon with this villa! We booked it because of the photos and the descriptions both of the villa and the friendly neighbourhood. Just as someone else commented before us, it was exactly as described and shown in the photos. Everything we needed, beautifully presented and maintained throughout our stay and the friendly local people were the icing on the cake! The location was perfect, just far enough away from the hustle and bustle of the main resorts but easily accessible for regular evening visits to Bophut and Chaweng. We didnt always want to go too far though, with the lovely beach practically on our doorstep and quite a few good bars and restaurants nearby. A couple of days we were content just to laze around and dip in and out of the lovely, comfortable pool. We enjoyed some really lovely evening meals at the Mai Tai restaurant and Mama Moons, just 2 minutes down the road from us. We also had many excellent lunches at the Boom Bay restaurant and Bar. down at the beach. Our only disappointment was that the Coma Restaurant was closed for staff holidays but never mind, it will be another treat to return for. Perfect - many thanks for a lovely holiday!

The property is exactly as the pictures show, The villa is in a little community with a great restaurant next door two shops over the road also a number of people who will do your laundry, taxis are available from a number of people on the same road as the villa. It is a 4 min walk to the beach. Victor was very helpful in finding us a chef and arranging a car and driver for the day ( which was an excellent day out highly recommend) it was no trouble to him to sort out anything, and the whole experience was brilliant being part of the small community everyone speaks and is really friendly. Ban Tai the area is not commercialised at all but if you want that it is all within a 20 min taxi ride

From 13/02/2011 to 01/03/2011. We had an excellent holiday in this beautiful villa set in lovely tranquil surroundings with good local shops and restaurants nearby. The photographs and information on the web site describe the villas perfectly. The local beach is a short walk away and was very good, unspoilt and quite. The owners, Victor & Chai were extremely helpful and nothing was too much trouble and any requests were dealt with immediately. Also there were some very good restaurants a short car/taxi ride away in Fishermans Village. All in all it is a first class villa and we will certainly be returning.
"Died and gone to heaven." Stayed at this stunning villa for 5 days. Wish we could have stayed forever. The position is fantastic with everything that is important close by beach, restaurants, shop and massages. It is handy to have a car if you want to go further afield as there is a covered carport for one. The villa had a sparkling pool, kitchen, dining and lounge and 2 separate bedrooms with bathrooms and a separate toilet. The gardens were just beautiful with little spots to sit and relax. The welcome food, drinks and flowers were a welcoming touch. Thank you to Jacquie, Lee and Sue for making our stay so perfect.
"Fantastic!" This villa is gorgeous, exactly as the advert describes it...... Lovely beach just two minutes walk down a quite road, restuarants and bars nearby are great too and excellent value for money - especially the mai tai where we ate most nights! Would recommend this to anyone and we will certainly try to go back there!
"Le rêve thaïlandais!" Malgré le temps pas très clément, cette villa est un véritable havre de paix dans un village vraiment accueillant! Conçue comme un cocon de bien-être, cette maison est absolument superbe, avec un personnel aux petits soins, qui nous portent vraiment toutes les attentions! Des vacances inoubliables!!!!
"Fantastic! Everything we were hoping for and more!" Beautiful clean self contained Villa that was just as advertised and better. Just a 4 minute walk to the beach. Dining establishments, massage services, convenience stores, taxis and scooter rentals are across the street or just within minutes from the Villa. Very quiet and relaxing area. Most of our sun holidays have been at resorts, staying at this Villa beats any resort by far. We were there in April which was the hottest time of year and the air conditioning in the bedrooms was very effective and welcome. We highly recommend Baan Tai Tara 1.
"Dream honeymoon villa!" We booked this villa a year ago based on the wonderful reviews and pictures and we were not disappointed. The villa is stunning, beautifully decorated and equipped with all mod cons. The whole place is geared up for a lovely relaxing holiday. The gardens are lush and green and the pool is beautiful and clean. The whole place is very well maintained and cared for. The beach at ban tai is without a doubt the best on the island and we felt extremely lucky to have it on our doorstep. The little village is peaceful and quiet but with all the essentials for food shopping and laundry services. There is a great massage place too (koi) and the beach massage hut was also great. We did hire a car as we like the freedom to do our own thing and we felt that added to our trip greatly. We mostly ate at the Mimosa and Koh Samui resort restaurants as the food was great, well priced and we are suckers for beachside dining! Ban tai is away from the glare of the neon party scene of Chaweng which isnt our scene but its only a 20minute car/taxi ride should you wish to participate. You must check out Fishermans village on a Friday night though. The market is huge with bargains to be had. We especially enjoyed the street food and cocktails. We were here for Chinese New Year and the street performances were so much fun. Its truly paradise here and we are so glad we came. We would recommend this place and definitely return. Thank you to Victor and all the staff who made this magical place all that it is.
"Private Gem in Paradise!" My husband and I stayed in this charming, private self contained paradise for 6 nights. We loved the open concept, the plunge pool for cooling off and the Thai Touches in the decor. It is clean, modern, very comfortable and we felt like we could close out the world and be alone together, a very romantic villa. Convenience? It does not get better.....there are two "Thai 7 11 shops" as we labeled them at the end of the driveway. The have absolutely everything you need from fruit to cheese to croissants to liquor....even sun screen! The beach is a 4 minute walk along a side road, there are numerous restaurants within walking distance and of course, Thai massage. My favourite was Jean from Jeany massage. You can have your laundry done overnight with ironed underwear! We LOVED being here at Baan Tai Tara 1 and cant wait to return.
"Small Piece of Paradise in Koh Samui" My wife Arlene and I stayed here recently for 12 glorious days in March 2014. Baan Tai Tara 1 is a beautifully maintained, decorated and furnished designer / boutique-type accommodation. All the rooms are spacious, light and airy and face inwards to a landscaped pool area. The property is well-maintained and is private and secluded despite being only a few minutes way from from a lovely beach, places to eat and some small shops. Baan Tai is a quieter, less touristy, area than some on Koh Samui which suited us. Despite our plans to hire a car we just used local taxies and Songtaews which passed frequently up on the main road. We loved it and will likely return.
"Lived up to expectations." We stayed at Ban Tai Tara villa 1 for 3 weeks, the villa was very clean and modern with all home comforts. We had a few niggles, however these were easily sorted out.The villa is in a very small village, however there are 2 small grocery shops and a good resturant, the villagers are very friendly ,the villa is situated next to another villa and at times the occupants were very noisy. The internet was very slow and unpredictable which made Skype difficult, however,we were lent a dongle which helped. We were grateful for the welcome pack, which was a nice find.We enjoyed relaxing in the pool ,however, the beach is very close for a change and has a lovely shack for lunch and drinks. We did not hire a car,but used public public transport, which would stop at the top of the road.Recommend going to the Fishermans Village-beware the cocktails are strong !!!!I If you want to get away from the big resorts-Chewang then this is for you.
We stayed at Baan Tai Tara 1 for 4 days, in the middle of a longer trip, a time to chill out and relax away from the hustle and bustle of many cities and beach areas. Baan Tai Tara 1 fit the bill perfectly. It was quiet, clean, very comfortable and well equipped in terms of living essentials. The pool was just perfect to cool off in after a day relaxing on the beach, a few minutes walk away. We also enjoyed the restaurants found close by. We found it easy to get to and from the ferry dock, just a 10 minute taxi ride. We also rented scooters right next door. Everything seemed easy to get too. Highly recommended and we will certainly return in the future.
Top quality accommodation with high standards of fixtures and fittings. There is lots of light and air and the external grounds are beautiful. Lots of non touristy places to eat within a few minutes walk and a beautiful beach - again off the main tourist areas. That said, action and variety are just a short drive away, ideal.

We adored our time here!! This is a very quaint little place - nice and quiet. The beach 5 min down the road is lovely and tranquil. Baan Tai area is a very small area but excellent with a few good restaurants and shops - but you definitely need a car if staying long term. We cooked a lot but enjoyed going to Mai Tai and Mama Moon restaurants down the road. It was nice to get to know the neighbours around this area - they were all so helpful and nice. We liked the photos online, but didnt know what to expect when we arrived. We were thrilled to see that the photos did not disappoint! Its a beautiful villa, perfect for a family or even two couples. We stayed here for awhile (3 weeks+) and would come back again. It was such a joy to come back to our villa after day out. The only downer is that from 5-8pm the mosquitos are bad so you need to be inside or in the pool. With no window screens at all, we had to stay in the bedroom where the a/c was. Also Jacquie and Sue who work at the property place were such a help!
I like the Buddha carvings on the wall, they look really nice. I like that there are three bathrooms just in case everyone wants to go to the toilet. There is a lot of space in the refrigerator and lots of space in the kitchen. Shinobu Perloo aged 12, Japan
Super value at a great price. We had a wonderful time. Thanks. Family Narovec from Czech Republic
We have had a relaxing and sunny holiday. Victor and Chai are easy to contact if you need to know anything. We have a few pleasant visits from Justine and Balckie, their dogs, which was a definite bonus. Both are well-mannered doggies. All must have services are a few meters away - stores, laundry and the fantastic COMA restaurant with killer food and staff. We have enjoyed our stay at Baan Tai Tara 1 and Koh Samui... beautiful beaches, islands and lots to see.... Thanks to Victor and Chai, all the people in the village who were very friendly. Tomorrow we fly home to Finland. Petri Finland
