We really enjoyed staying at Anandahouse and Casanandahouse.. its was very quiet and we didnt ear anything from outside. .Houses is very comfortable, quiet, clean, has all necessary appliances, everything you would need was there. We will definitely come back because 10 days in Sri-Lanka is just not enough. The manager Sudath is a very friendly and professional, fully available and helpful! He gave us detailed information about all we want to know! we really recommend staying at Brunos houses!! it was best holidays in our life! Thank you very much!!
Weve been to the place in October 2012 and loved the place! Lovely villa and very friendly and supportive staff. Definitely worth its cost! (especially if you get the villa with the pool but unfortunately it was already booked when we were planning our holidays) Pros: - located right on a beach - great staff - very nice and clean house Cons: - infrastructure (ambalangoda is quite a small town so we took trips to Hikkaduwa or Galle for dinner or souvenirs - but that shouldnt be a problem if you can drive car or bike) So if we decide to go back to Sri Lanka (and I see no reasons why we shouldnt) there is no doubt we would stay at this villa once again.
We stumbled upon Anandhouse while doing an internet search for accommodation in Sri Lanka, and we are so glad we did! The owner, Bruno, is a photographer, so the pictures on line looked so good I was wondering, "Can it be THAT good in reality?". In fact, it was better! The kids played on the beach, less than 40m from our front door, while we could upload pictures on facebook via the wireless internet connection. Sadith, the manager, was ready whenever we needed anything from the local shop, or to play tourguide to the various great spots to visit. The sea turtle sanctuary was a winner, with the kids being able to release baby sea turtles back into the ocean. The moonstone mine provided a primitive view on how the stones are mined, but a great showroom to purchase some stones, and lastly the trip on the lagoon, where we could see how cinnamon is made on one of the 65 islands was also great fun, particularly for the kids! We slept in very comfortable beds, which included mosquito nets, and although we preferred to make our own food (and barbeque on the beach), someone was always on standby to cook for us if we required it. The daily breakfast which included local fruit was a refreshing start for each day. The calamari dish we had for dinner on our last night was great! I already miss falling asleep at night with the waves crashing in the background and we are counting the months until we can make another visit, this time hopefully for two weeks. Lastly, the damaged of the tsunami can still clearly be seen in the area, and that is another reason we are keen to go back to rather spend money in a community that is still rebuilding their lives.
