A lovely front line two bedroom apartment to rent with sea views in the lovely fishing village of La Azohia, Costa Calida, Spain.
The apartment is located on a quiet and private complex with only a 600m walk to the beach. The apartment boasts some of the best uninterrupted views on the complex. You will find the apartment fully equipped for four people on a self-catering basis, with the added benefit of air conditioning and satellite TV and Internet. There is a communal pool available for use with a separate child pool.
The living room boasts fantastic sea views, with seating for four people as well as a dining table for four. The living room has a 32" flat screen TV with access to satellite and a DVD player. The kitchen is fully fitted with electric hob and oven, fridge freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. It features plenty of storage and useful utensils.
The master bedroom has a standard double bed with all linen and towels provided. There is a large wardrobe and chest of drawers for your use as well as a hairdryer and fan. The twin room contains two single beds with all linen and towels provided. There is a wardrobe and chest of drawers for storage as well as an additional fan. There is a fully fitted bathroom with WC, shower and bath.
The apartment boasts a balcony immediately outside the living room sliding doors with sea views. This is equipped with a small table and chairs.
A highlight of the apartment is the 56 square metre roof terrance with shaded seating area. The rooftop contains a table and chairs for alfresco dining, a cold-water shower, sunbeds and a BBQ. It also boasts wonderful sea and mountain views.
La Azohia offers a quiet and tranquil holiday location, with a lovely local beach boasting a bar, toilets and changing facilities. Lifeguards are on duty during the summer months. The beach is perfect for snorkelling and watching the fish.
There are local activities including scuba diving, historical attractions and boat tours.
There are a number of local bars and restaurants. It is a 15 minute drive to the supermarkets, restaurants and bars of the port of Mazarron and only a 25 minute drive to the city of Cartagena.

The property is not taken care of. For instance, some light bulbs do not function and are not replaced. Some equipment is about to fall apart and is not repaired or replaced. The blinds on the balcony are so old and rusty that you cannot lower them. Apart from that, it is not very pleasant to arrive and see that dust and some rubbish are being accumulated on one side of the balcony instead of being cleaned up. The terrace was very dusty and had not been cleaned for a very long time.
Some maintenance and cleaning would do enough to make it quite acceptable. Regarding la Azohía, this part of Murcia is quite nice and not as exploited and crowded as other parts of the Spanish coast.
We had a fabulous and relaxing time in La Azohia.
The apartment was clean and in a great location. Good swimming pool - never felt too busy and great for kids.
The roof terrace is lovely and great views of the sunsets - would have been good to have more lighting up there for meals in the evening - perhaps some fairy lights or more wall lights. We used the bbq a lot and enjoyed the views.
The apartment is an adequate size for 2 adults and 2 children - kitchen quite well stocked.
La Azohia is a lovely quiet Spanish town - great beach - very family friendly with a relaxed atmosphere. Friendly beach bars and lovely food in the Antipodes restaurant.
We would definitely go back.

My wife & I were looking for a relaxing time away from the stresses and strains of everyday living, and found it perfectly in this location and property.
This first floor, air conditioned apartment was clean, functional, and contained everything we needed. It comprises of a kitchen / lounge area with TV, Satellite, DVD player (although we didn’t actually get to use the TV). It has 2 good sized bedrooms and a bathroom / WC. A walk through the patio doors takes you onto a veranda with a small table and chairs. Carry on up the outside steps and you arrive at our favourite place – the roof-top terrace. This is a large area (about 25ft x 25ft) with a large shaded section, tables and chairs and sun loungers.
The view from here is amazing - with the hills directly behind the apartments in one direction, and the beautiful sea view and coastline the other. Nearly all our time spent at the apartment was on the roof terrace. It was tranquil, hot, but with an almost constant sea breeze to keep the temperature comfortable. Sunsets were lovely to watch from here.
There is also a nearby pool available (you get your own key for the gate). It looked very nice (but there were too many other great things to do so we never actually got to try it out).
There is just a short walk down to the beech where a number of beech bars are open from around midday ‘till late. Theres a small shop for everyday items just a short distance along the promenade. There are also a number of restaurants in walking distance. The most popular we found (also the furthest away) was the ‘Ausie’ one down by the jetty (which is 1.5 miles from the apartment). Another point worth a mention is how much pride is taken in maintaining La Azohia. We saw no rubbish on the ground and people were out each day trimming and tidying – it really puts Britain to shame!
Since we opted not to hire a car, we were reliant on there being enough local amenities to fulfil our needs - and there was. We did get plenty of exercise walking (which we both enjoy). However, if you’re not so keen, or perhaps have children, then we would recommend a car. There is a bus service but this was very sporadic so I wouldn’t rely too much on it.
We were here for a couple of days before we heard another English voice which emphasises that this is not a traditional tourist area, but one where you can really mingle with the locals. It’s useful to have at least some rudimentary Spanish language skills (which we didn’t have), although we got by with just a few phrases! The locals were very friendly people.
Our airport transfers were undertaken by the apartment managers Pam and Clive (who live just a short distance from the apartment). This worked out perfectly. Transfer costs were around 55 Euros each way. For an extra 10 Euros you get to stop en route at a major supermarket to stock up for the week.
Pam also came to our rescue when I accidently packed a Canadian power adaptor instead of a European one! We were reliant on charging our mobile phones and Pam kindly brought an adaptor round to the apartment to borrow free of charge. What excellent service! A big thank you to them.
To summarise, if you are looking for tranquillity, sun, scenery, and complete relaxation away from the crowds, then this is the perfect place for you. Highly recommended. Would we come here again? Absolutely!
THIS WAS OUR SECOND YEAR AT THIS APARTMENT AND WE ENJOYED A GREAT HOLIDAY YET AGAIN. WE ARE NOW PLANNING OUR NEXT HOLIDAY THERE.
A very nice apartment with views of the sea and surrounding area and walking distance to good beach. Large roof terrace which is not overlooked. Apartment was clean and well presented. Would definately use again. Very helpful local representive who lives right behind apartment.
