Two bedroom apartment with onsite pool close to 3 golf clubs and 10 minutes drive to the "Blue Flag" beach at La Zenia. Enjoy breakfast or an early evening cocktail on the balcony, or just soak up the sun on the roof terrace. Double bed and twin beds supplemented by a sofa bed, enabling the apartment to accommodate 6. Fully equipped kitchen. Air conditioned lounge. Wi-Fi internet connection. Tv with English language satellite TV service and DVD player (for you to use with your own DVD's) are provided. Local support is provided by our Property Managers who will be pleased to assist with any special requests. An ideal base for the family with a great communal pool just two mins walk away. 15 minute drive to Torrevieja, with its small market stalls along the front in the evening. Three superb golf courses at Villamartin, Las Ramblas and Campoamor. Local shops and bars in the area, with a large super market 10 minutes drive away, and more bars and restaurants on offer at La Zenia. Leisure activities available within 15 minutes of the apartment include sailing, water skiing, boat hire, wind surfing, fishing, walking, cycling, horse riding, golf, tennis, scuba diving, and a theatre/cinema. Less than 45 minutes drive away there is also climbing, flying, mountain biking, a sports centre, historic sites, a museum, a zoo, and a theme park. The apartment is 20 min from Murcia Airport airport and 40 min from Alicante Airport.
The Valenciana Region:
This region is famous for its wonderful beaches, with their gorgeous golden sand and perfectly clear waters, which explains why the area is so popular not only with with sun seekers and holiday makers, but also with people who enjoy scuba diving and snorkelling. If you have an interest in boats, you can find many marinas with their moorings for boats and yachts.The surroundings are still extremely traditional and rural with fresh fruit and vegetables growing all around and greenery as far as the eye can see. The beaches, although often kilometres long, are split into lots of smaller beaches and coves, creating a more private and protected environment. The beaches have all been awarded triple blue flag awards for their cleanliness and are cleaned every day. Many of the buildings in this region are in keeping with the local traditions and the local authorities have permitted no high-rise developments. This area of the Costa Blanca is thought to be 'Spain's best kept secret.' This region has an excellent all year round climate for holidaymakers who like guaranteed sunshine. Spring and Autumn are lovely seasons - midday temperatures are often reach 20ºC In July and August the temperature regularly reaches 30ºc to 35º and often more inland. People sunbathe and even swim all year round even on sunny winter or autumn days. A Mediterranean climate (hot, dry summers with mild winters) dominates the weather in this region, for example in the winter, the average maximum temperature is 18º C and in summer 32ºC. The sun shines every year for nearly 3,000 hours on the coast and average temperatures vary between 24- 32º C in summer and 12-20º C in winter.
The area of Campoamor and La Zenia on the Orihuela Costa provides a vibrant nightlife with many pubs and restaurants all within walking distance. The numerous beaches on the Orihuela Costa have all been awarded the Blue Flag in recognition of high quality and safety.The area is known as the 'Golf triangle' which is made up of 3 local golf courses: Villamartin, Las Ramblas and Campoamor, with La Finca and La Manga courses within easy driving distance. Another 2 golf courses, La Finca and Roda, and are within a short drive. This area is a golfers paradise with golf being played all year round.In addition to the beaches, activities and attractions include sailing, water skiing, boat hire, wind surfing, fishing, walking, cycling, horse riding, golf, tennis, scuba diving, a theatre/cinema, shopping areas, restaurants etc. The nearest main town, Torrevieja, is a thriving and bustling place, cosmopolitan and yet with a heart that is very Spanish, and in the evening you will find small market stalls along the front. The large Water park at Torrevieja is open from May - Oct. The Ozone Leisure complex can be found in Torrevieja and is very popular for children and adults, is a complex with restaurants and bars. It has an IMF cinema, Bowling alley and amusement arcade. During the summer months there are outside trampolines and bouncy castles for the children. In Torrevieja town there is a promenade which stretches along the length of the town which is lit up at night, a funfair is located there next to the market which is open daily. Over half of Torrevieja town consists of two enormous Salt Lakes of Torrevieja and La Mata, which gives a micro climate of average annual temperatures of over 21 degrees and 340 days sunshine a year, this makes the area a very healthy climate – indeed The World Health Organisation (WHO) considers this part of Spain (Costa Blanca-Alicante province) to be one of the healthiest climates on the planet. The salt lakes are now also a thriving bird reserve and Natural Park. Further inland the warm waters of Fortuna springs are a must approximately 30mins drive. Terra Mitica and new animal adventure park, Mundomar sea life park and Aqua Polis are all accessible from AP7 motorway 70 mins drive away. Visitors are often surprised how interesting the Alicante region’s geography is and that the area isn’t just about great beaches. There are some impressive mountainous areas such as Sierra de Aitana, Sierra de Mariola and Sierra Grossa. Alicante is one of Spain’s most engaging cities with the picturesque old quarter and modern avenues packed with shops. The whole city is dominated by the Castillo de Santa Barbara, high on a cliff above the sea. Alicante is the ultimate shopping destination with plenty of large high-street shops, all lined up along the Avenida Maisonnave. Places to visit include: Puerto de Alicante: Enjoy a stroll along the harbour front, looking at the luxury yachts anchored here •Castillo de Santa Bárbara: This beautiful castle (open from April to September, 10am to 8pm and from October to March, 9am to 6.30pm) is the city’s best known monument. At 166m high, it gives fabulous views of the city and its surroundings. Paseo marítimo de la Explanada de España: A walk along this esplanade, with its black, cream and red mosaics and lined with palm trees, is perhaps the best way to start getting to know the city. It is here that you willll find the auditorium, where the city’s band plays, street sellers, a hippy market etc. Ayuntamiento: This baroque municipal palace in Alicante's main square can be visited Monday to Friday from 9am to 2pm. Look out for the main door on the front of the building with its Solomon pillars and the two marble lions supporting the city’s coat of arms; the chapel and the blue room. Casa de la Asegurada: This museum is housed in one of the city’s oldest buildings. Casco Antiguo: Until relatively recently the old quarter, as in many other cities, was considered a dangerous place. However, since the council embarked on its plan to clean it up, it has become a pleasant area to walk around and where you can discover its charms and enjoy its pubs and bars. L´Albufera: a fresh water lake to the south of Valencia – declared a “natural reserve” in 1986. It is home to 250 different species of wild fowl. The lake is separated from the sea by a strip of sand and rice fields, which produce a third of Spain’s rice Las cuevas de Sant Josep: (Vall d´Uixó/Castellón) To visit the caves of St Joseph you first take a boat, then do the next part on foot along a narrow path and finally take another boat to reach the caves La Isla de Tabarca: A small island that can be visited by boat from Santa Pola (Alicante). Peñón d´Ifach: A 332m high rock in Calpe (Alicante). It makes a very pleasant two hour walk Sagunto: Sagunto has a castle and Roman theatre. It has been declared a National Monument and because of its excellent acoustics, theatre festivals and concerts are held there; the most important of which is “Sagunt a escena” which is held in August Guadalest: A must-see stop on the tourist route. The charming village of Guadalest is surrounded by the Aitana, Serella & Xorta Mountains the village is widely recognised as being a historically important site, as well as one of great beauty. From the main square you get to the castle on foot via a tunnel through the rock, on top of which are perched the ruins of the castle. From the top you have splendid views over the mountains. Dénia: Main fishing port in Alicante and flourishing national and international summer holiday resort. Worth a visit to: the castle from where you have one of the best views of the Mediterranean; the church Santa María Asunción; the fish market; the beaches Las Marinas and las Rotas (diving) and the street, Calle Marqués de Campos – the nerve centre of the town. Jávea: This town, set high up on a hill, has its modern developments, good beaches and cliffs, but also a rich tourist offering which includes the church of San Bartolomé, windmills from the 17th and 18th centuries, the old quarter (white houses adorned with typical Mediterranean pots) and the esplanade (which goes from the port to Arenal beach). Altea: This is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful spots in the whole of the region. Altea lives up to its publicity slogan “Cúpula del Mediterráneo” (literally the “dome of the Mediterranean”): its climate, its wonderfully picturesque nooks, its steep and narrow streets, its sea views, its traditional Mediterranean, white and blue houses and above all a different sort of tourism. People come here to paint, to be inspired by its scenery or simple to rest. It's well worth visiting the old quarter, the church square, the church Virgen de la Consolación and of course the port with its fish market – the fish auctions make an extraordinary spectacle. *Mar Menor: A natural inland salt water lagoon of about 170 square kilometres. The coastline is more than 70 km long and you will pass through many nice villages. In the vicinity of Lo Pagan, Mar Menor offers the largest therapeutic open-air mud bath of Europe. The average depth of the Mar Menor is 4 metres and at its maximum it is 7 metres which means that the seabed slopes very gradually and you have to get several hundred metres in before the water is of any depth.
