Apartment overview - owner's description

A modern, well maintained and fully furnished 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom 1400 sq ft/130m2 duplex penthouse with a large west facing terrace and a secluded solarium (600 sq ft/55m2) on a small, quiet, secure gated community with a large communal pool and small children’s pool set in landscaped gardens. Sun loungers are provided by the pool and there are 2 sun loungers on the solarium of the penthouse. From the living room you have direct access to the (lower) terrace/large balcony which has an area for al fresco dining with large table and six chairs, a separate seating area and a gas BBQ..
The penthouse has marble flooring throughout, a large sunny living room with dining area (table & 6 chairs) and a fully fitted kitchen with hob, oven, integrated fridge/freezer and dish washer. The utility room contains a microwave and washing machine.
All windows and patio doors are double glazed with mosquito screens and there is air conditioning/heating throughout.
The bedrooms all have built in wardrobes and comprise of 2 super king bedrooms and another with 2 single beds.
All towels and linen is provided.
There is an allocated parking space in the secure underground car park with lift/elevator access to the apartment.
Wi-Fi is available and the large flat screen (smart) television can access over 160 Freeview & Sky channels (inc premium sports and movie channels), UK radio, 7 day catch-up TV and Video-on-Demand.
The apartment is within easy (5 minutes) walking distance of bars, restaurants, a supermarket and a sports complex with gym, tennis courts, paddle ball courts and tapas bar. There are 15 golf courses within easy driving distance, 6 of which are 10 minutes away.
The apartment is within easy reach of Malaga airport which is 30kms away.

The expansive beaches with various theme parks (such as aqua parks, Tivoli World theme parks, dolphin trips, African Safari, go karting, horseriding and equestrian facilities) nearby are 7kms away and large shopping malls (including El Corte Ingles) and major supermarkets are within 8 kms.

COAST/BEACH - Fuengirola beach and town 7 kms away less than 10 mins drive. Promenade and plenty of facilities along the beach, eating, drinking and shopping. La Cala beach 7 kms 10 minutes drive, free parking, shops, bars, restaurants right on the coast. Cabopino beach and port 15 mins drive. Lovely sheltered location with beach bars and sunbed hire. The busier areas of Benalmadena, Torremolinos and further south Marbella are within 20 mins drive with all the eating and shopping outlets you would need.

LA CALA de MIJAS - is the central point of Mijas Costa and although it has grown and been built up, especially over the last decade or so, it still maintains something of its Andalucian seaside village atmosphere. It lies on the coast between Fuengirola and Marbella. With a beach of around 35 meters wide and almost 2,000 meters long, ideal for children and families. This is a lovely beach in summer and winter alike, with a very nice promenade and plenty of good chiringitos and restaurants serving mouth-watering snacks and seafood. There are sun-beds and parasols for hire, public toilets and changing facilities available and showers at various points along the beach, as well as numerous public telephones. In the summer months there are many water sports activities from pedalos to jet skis. During summer there is a lifeguard service and the beach is accessible to the disabled.
There is a very popular street market ('el barratillo') every Wednesday and Saturday from around 09:00 - 14:30. The market stalls offer everything from fresh fruit and vegetables to local crafts, clothes, ceramics and pottery, flowers and plants, and lots more.
La Cala celebrates its own festivals, such as the annual fair which begins on 25 July, when the village is all decked out for a week of festivities, and you can sample traditional wines and tapas, listen to local music, and enjoy the dancing.
Saturday nights in the hot summer months of July and August are magical in La Cala. The promenade becomes a venue for classical music and flamenco dancing. With the outline of the old 16th-century watchtower of Torre Vieja as a backdrop, and moon reflecting down on the expanse of sea, the village celebrates a season of Noches de Luna y Playa (Nights of Moon and Beach).
There is no shortage of restaurants in La Cala de Mijas. There are many located on Boulevard de la Cala and others on the seafront around Calle Torrejon where the beach bars have their fans. Others prefer a more formal restaurant. Lookout for Restaurant El Torrejon, Restaurant El Deseo, Restaurant el Jinete, The Terrace and Centro de Mayores, economically priced, and a more Spanish speaking experience.

FUENGIROLA - previously, a tiny fishing village, Fuengirola has become a vibrant metropolis with character. The advent of many up-market tapa bars, good cafes and restaurants, interspersed with chic boutiques and other shops of interest, as well as fabulous beaches makes it the perfect holiday destination. The main square, Plaza de la Constitución, has been re-designed but still retains its unique enchantment. It looks pretty especially at Christmas, when it is decorated with very attractive lights and ornaments. It is also attractive during the Fuengirola summer feria, when the whole town takes part in the annual street celebrations. A walk down the narrow, pedestrian streets leading off the main square is a voyage of discovery for the many visitors, who come across some of the hidden secrets and delightful corners of this friendly, Andalucian town.
It boasts more than seven kms of well-kept golden sand, which is equipped with showers, sun-beds and shades, many sporting activities, hotels and shops. There are chiringuitos and a wealth of fish restaurants with local dishes freshly prepared using the catch of the day. Most sporting activities take place from the Marina; from here you can go sailing, windsurfing, jet skiing and even charter a fishing boat for the day. From the 1st of July to 12th Sept there is a Red Cross lifeguard team on duty with a rescue launch. There are watchtowers, flags and signposts that are located along the beaches

The Fuengirola Marina, on the seafront promenade, shares its premises with the fishing port. It includes numerous bars and restaurants, as well as services for water sports fans. Some of the services are sea life cruises or sailing courses at the Yacht Club.

We throughly enjoyed our stay at the Penthouse at Las Lomas de Mijas Golf. The property is absolutely fabulous, even better than the photos or decription. The pool is wonderful. And even though you dont go on holiday to watch tv, it was brilliant to be able to sit down in the evenings and watch Sky rather than try and work out what is going on in a Spanish soap!!!

All in all, we cant recommend it enough and will certainly be back!

We spent a very enjoyable and quiet week here and couldn't recommend it enough. Everything is nearby, the sun is always shining...we even had all our UK TV! The apartment is clean and comfortable and eating lunch on the balcony is something you just can't do in the UK 9 months of the year. We'll be returning soon to play some golf!

We (5 in our group) stayed at the penthouse which is on a small development near to golf, beaches and large shopping centres. It was spacious, clean and has high quality beds, linen etc together with fast broadband and access to UK television for the children and my sports mad husband. Highly recommended. had a lovely family holiday here last summer. We spent lots of time in the pool,which was surprisingly quiet for the time of year. The gardens were immaculate with lots of sun beds available. Within walking distance,there are shops, bars and restaurants. It had amazing views of the mountains. The apartment was well appointed,with balconies and a roof terrace overlooking the pool.
