Beautiful newly refurbished 5 bedroom 3 bathroom detached villa in Blue Lagoon Villamartin Costa Blanca Spain.This is a very large home that can comfortably sleep 12 people. The villa is fully air-conditioned throughout.There is a brand new modern kitchen with all appliances and a large dining area with sofa, free WIFI and cable TV.There are 3 bedrooms downstairs and 2 more bedrooms upstairs.The large lounge is upstairs that leads on to a balcony with sea views,there are mountain views from the rear of the lounge.There is another TV upstairs with a DVD player.Outside there is a large 9 metre by 5 metre swimming pool with a children's slide,sunbeds parasol etc.There is a separate sun terrace with table, chairs and parasol.The villa is on a secluded corner plot surrounded by a large wall and conifers giving total privacy.There are gardens all around the villa with Palm trees,olive trees, a lemon and an orange tree.The villa is a 2 minute walk from various bars and restaurants or a 15 minute walk or 3 minute drive from the beautiful Villamartin Plaza with its many bars and top class restaurants.There are 3 golf courses Villamartin,Campoamor and Las Ramblas within a 3 minutes drive and a further 20 courses within 40 minutes.The beaches of La Zenia,Campoamor and Cabo Riog are about a 7 minute drive away.There is a water park for the kids in Torrevieja about 15 drive away and Terra Mitica theme park is just over an hour away.
Villamartin/Blue Lagoon area
Villamartin is situated in the Costa Blanca south, 20 minutes drive south to Murcia airport and 40 minutes drive north to Alicante airport. Most relate Villamartin as a golf only area but over the years it has become a bustling all year round holiday destination and residential area. Golf however is still very popular, with its own championship course and neighboring courses, it is still a golfers paradise!
Villamartin Plaza - has over 40 restaurants varying from Italian, English, German, Spanish, Mexican, Austrian, Chinese, and French cuisine to name but a few, and these serve food both indoors and outside in the summer months in the delightful square. For those not wishing to eat, there are also plenty of Pubs and bars.In my opinion the best restaaurant in the plaza is "The Square" which is located on the top level.
Villamartin Golf Course
Built over 20 years ago, Villamartin is without doubt one of the finest areas of the Costa Blanca offering a wide variety of activities. Villamartin Golf Club hosted the Mediterranean Open in 1994. The course is set in wonderful natural parkland, with olive trees and a colourful lining of the fairways.Las Ramblas and Campoamor with its beautiful clubhouse are only a few minutes drive away also.
Of course the seaside promenades and the fishing port are attractions in their own right for visitors to this part of the Southern Mediterranean. The Torrevieja micro-climate, brought about by the two salt lakes of La Mata and Torrevieja which occupy more than 55 per cent of the total area of the town, with its 340 days of sun and an average annual temperature of 20 degrees centigrade, has meant that thousands of tourists from the north of Spain and northern Europe have decided to set up home permanently in the town.
If you still do not know this small corner of south east Spain there is still time to do so, because the best thing of all are the local people, traditionally friendly and open to both national and international tourism. English is spoken as a second language so you will not find it a problem to communicate within the area.
One of the greatest tourist attractions of Torrevieja has always been its variety of entertainment for young people. There are more than a hundred night bars, the majority concentrated in the so-called El Baluarte area in the La Punta district, which have become a major attraction for thousands of people from all over the world.
The cosmopolitan nature of Torreviejas nightlife can be seen in its leisure areas: Casablanca, Bésame Mucho, Pata Palo, Tía Roqueta, Tirachinas, Iris Pub, La Cantina or Correcaminos, are just some examples of typical leisure places in the town. For the real nightbirds this provision is rounded off by the macro-discoteque Pachá, as well as the historic Look and KKO clubs, which cannot be passed over during a nocturnal pub-crawl (la ruta del bakalao).
During the day Torrevieja also offers a range of leisure and entertainment areas. As well as its beaches and numerous terraces along its maritime promenade, its great aquatic park (Aquópolis) is swarming with families, young people and children during the summer months.
If you prefer to contemplate and enjoy the Alicante coastline, there is no better way than by going on a trip on the Tabardo cruisers equipped with catamarans in which you can observe the sea bed. Excursions to the island of Tabarca and trips all along the coast of southern Alicante round off this interesting and unique tourist provision.
Finally, for the lovers of ecological and environmental tourism, you will not do better than visit the lakes of La Mata and Torrevieja to enjoy a mud bath, recommended by doctors around the world for its curative properties for a large number of rheumatic dermatological, heart and respiratory complaints.
Every Friday Torrevieja holds one of the largest open-air markets in Spain and sells all kinds of food, textiles, clothes and accessories. A smaller market can be found at La Florida on a Saturday, and is very close to our apartment. Street markets can be found every day of the week in different areas.
The town has a good shopping area with lots of independently owned shops selling a variety of goods. There are no department stores or shopping malls. An indoor market is open daily where you can buy fresh produce fish, meat, fruit and vegetables.
The town square is very picturesque. At Christmas it hosts a magnificent Nativity scene, which covers a large proportion of the square.
The surrounding countryside has an abundance of orange and lemon groves. All in all, an ideal holiday destination for the whole family, at any time of the year.

villa was fine however air conditioning only upstairs this was not specified when booking this ruined holiday for those sleeping downstairs also electric seemed very expensive was the meter running at normal spanish domestic rate as first time I have encountered this after years of holidaying in spain would never had booked if i had been aware ground floor bedrooms had no aircon

On arrival at the property, myself and family were pleased that the villa was safely enclosed as we had 4 young children.
The villa was very adequate for our needs, had everything we wanted and was clean. The pool was a great size for the children and very well maintained.
We were left plenty of 2 euro coins for the electricitiy, which was plenty enough for our weeks stay. The air-con only used on an evening before bed. Plenty of bath towels were provided.
The Plaza was within good walking distance (10/15 min) with many bars and great restaurants (the Argentinian grill, where I experienced the best fillet steak ever!!), and although the beach was not within walking distance, the local bus service was handy or a mini-bus taxi was value for money! (as we did not hire cars).
There are plenty of supermarkets (if you dont go on a Sunday!) reached by bus or taxi which sell lovely fresh fish/fruit/veg, ideal fo a BBQ at the villa.
My family and I enjoyed a wonderful holiday here and would definately recommend this villa and area for a relaxing holiday. We didnt want to leave so soon! Thanks :)
A well equipped villa located a bit away from the hubub of Villamatin. A car would help as Taxis are expensive. Overall though great value for money.
We were a party of 9 adults and 1 infant. The layout of the villa was perfect for our party as it offered different living areas as well as outside space. It was well equipped and very comfortable.The keyholders were friendly and meeting them we easy as they live across the road!
We were concerned about the pool as it appeared murky and we were told that it had not been cleaned for our arrival...we did this oursleves and did not see the pool man until the day we were leaving!
Our only other concern was the cost of the electricity which appeared to be very high...we did not use the air con, used the washing machine a couple of times and hardly had the TV on, however the meter used 76 euros during our stay which does appear to be a bit high especially as we were out every evening and for the final 4 days there were only 7 of us staying!
Overall, a great location, lovely comfortable spacious villa which is also very secluded!
