Excellent accomodation with superb facilities. Pool was a welcome reprieve from the heat. Close to bars which was an added bonus. Would most certainly recommend to all.

Couple from Essex, United Kingdom Jun 2015

Stayed hear for 2 weeks in June 2015, the villa was everything we had hoped for, comfortable, clean and in a great location. Everything you need for a nice relaxing break is all within a short walk, except the beach, but the piece and quiet around the private pool more than made up for that. At the time my wife and I had both expressed a desire to go back to this villa, which brings me to my next point, for 2 weeks in June 2015 the cost was approx £1150, what a great deal couldn't fault it, but for the same period in 2016 is £1950. I fully understand that things go up in price but 70% in 12 months is a bit strong. It is a lovely villa and I wish the owners success but I'm afraid we won't be returning.

Family from Alresford, United Kingdom Aug 2014

We have been to La Marina several times and this Villa rates well with previous locations , there are some repairs needed here and there but generally a nice place to stay and the biggest plus was the private pool.
Airport transfers were spot on and we were even give a lift next day to collect hire cars free of charge.
All in all a good place to have a family holiday with something for everyone

Family from York, United Kingdom Jul 2014

Another really pleasant stay at the Villa.
Transfer to the villa was simple and once we arrived we dro pped our bags in the rooms and made for the pool especially with the great Spanish weather.
The Villa works well for us as a family as its large enough to give us our own space, and with its own pool means we arent driven by hotel rules!
Good local restaurants all in walking distance, our favourite has to be the Patagonia steak house.
But also able to eat in with a local supermarket also in walking distance.
All in all, another great relaxing holiday.

Friends from Manchester, United Kingdom Jun 2014

We had a wonderful holiday in this villa. The advert is accurate so read it carefully, if it sounds like you will enjoy it then you will! Very short and convenient commute from the airport, Id definitely recommend using their airport transfer if you arent hiring a car as then you can get the keys and everything sorted straight away, no fuss.

The shop (that sells pretty much everything) and a few bars and restaurants are a really short walk away, really just 5 minutes, so you can really enjoy the villa without a car, and the beach is just a short 8 euro taxi trip away. The beach is lovely, and the sea was really nice to swim in, no jelly fish (that we saw!) or litter and soft sand to walk on all the way into the water. Gentle waves so lovely to swim in. There is little shade though so maybe take an umbrella.

The pool at the villa is great, unfortunately there are only 6 sun beds even though the villa is for 8 people but we suspect that this is because there isnt usually 8 adults there, and there are lots of chairs. We went in June so it was really hot every day, but if you went at a cooler time of year then you could take full advantage of the roof terrace as it is a complete sun trap.

Lots of inflatables like lilos and other great stuff for the pool like water pistols were already there when we arrived but also available really cheaply from the local shop.

Its by no means an authentic Spanish experience, we pretty much only saw ex pats and the local restaurants are english, german, italian, the usual. But there was one Spanish restaurant that had great tapas and paella. Of course if you go on a budget holiday then thats what you get so as long as you know what to expect you can have a really great time.

There is a CD player at the villa which had a USB port so we used our iPods on that for music as well, so you probably dont need to take speakers. The kitchen has a lot of pans and everything you need to cook as well if you are eating at the villa. There was a hairdryer in the main room as well.

We managed it really cheaply, and still ate great food and had lovely spanish wine, so its great for a large group or family on a budget. We were a group of friends, all girls in our mid twenties.

We did pay the extra tenner for a welcome pack, but it didnt specify exactly what would be in it and we definitely didnt get anything when we arrived. A lot of the reviews mention the owners used to leave a bottle of wine etc as a welcome which we didnt get, so dont expect anything like that. But it didnt affect our holiday at all and the place was clean and exactly as described so you cant ask for more than that.

Make sure you know exactly what to expect and you really cant have a bad time at this place. We had a completely brilliant holiday which we know we will remember for the rest of our lives!

Thanks for your comments. I am replying in behalf of the new owners, as I am the old owner! We did leave a bottle for people. When the villa was sold to the new owners, we never thought about this! Your point is very valid and I will speak to Sabina, and will organize this! Should you return again, remind me and I will personally give you 2 bottlesnext time! Regards Joe and Maria.

Large Group from Liverpool, United Kingdom May 2014

We visited Villa Maria in May 2014, we were a group of 8 made up of 5 adults, two 17 year olds and a 3 year old. Booking the villa and asking the owner questions was all very easy and once we arrived we were not disappointed! The villa is gorgeous, the master bedroom with the en suit is beautiful although everyone kept using the en suit shower because it was so good!! The villa is very comfortable and the kitchen is well equipped. The pool is great and we were pleasantly surprised by the big box of pool / garden toys and floats etc in the garden. The draws in the sideboard are filled with books, playing cards & games although we didnt use the much because the weather was so fantastic! The villa is in a great location for shops, bars & redtaurants so we ate out a lot. We hired a car from the rental place that is 5 mins away from the villa and it only cost €140 for a week so we got to visit Alicante, Santa Pola and Benidorm which are all near by as well as going into La Marina town. La Matina beach is gorgeous too! We were disappointed they the orange & lemon trees have been cut down as we were looking forward to the fresh fruit! We made use of the BBQ and we were glad there was plenty of loungers and chairs around the pool. We organised our transfer on arrival with the owners and this made getting from the airport to the villa and getting the villa keys very easy. All 8 of us loved the villa and had a lovely holiday there so we would definitely return! We would recommend Bavarius and El Torro for food which are a 5 minute walk from the villa. Looking forward to returning to Villa Maria soon :)

Exceptional property which exceeded our expectations. Experienced fantastic weather and phenomenal festivals (Spanish know how to party). Fantastic restaurants, bars, shops and parks are all just up the road from the villa. The owners have equipped the villa with absolutely everything (essential and extras) to make the stay an extremely comfortable one. Spend most days lazing around the luxurious private pool which was total heaven.

Second time here. More improvements made and better than ever. This will be a yearly holiday from now on for us. Alarm went bad on us, but Joe had them out same day, and its was quickly fixed. Thank you, and see you next year. !!!!Try the new "Castello" up the road. Live music every night and great food.

Extra information

A beautiful area which is quiet, but loads of activity just a 5 minute walk away, if you want it! fantastic restaurants, pubs even a nightclub, but all of this can be avoided if you just want to relax. Alicante is 20 mins away for all of the culture themes. Torreveija is probably the nightlife centre of Spain, just 15 mins by car! Romantic villa with chandelier in its tower, or family hideaway with privacy and its own pool,

English couple lived in Germany for 18 years, and set up "Joe Satellite" the largest satellite installation for American and Nato troops in Germany. Now moved to Spain full time, and live just 5 minutes away from the villa. I still run the company back in Germany, suppling the installers with appointments. We now manage the villa ourselves together, with my wife, so we really put in that "special home" feeling, for our guests. Our 7 year old goes to Spanish school, and life in Spain is great!
