Apartment overview - owner's description

Beautiful Spanish Villa close Marbella & Gib. converted into 4 delightful apartments. Large garden,HEATED POOL, wonderful sea views-truly tranquil !

A very special holiday apartment

Estepona and Around
Estepona is a very underrated town with a mainly Spanish population and comparitively few foreigners, located an easy drive from Marbella, Puerto Banus & Gibraltar. It's the way the spanish like it!
There are still few or no tour operators offering Estepona Town as a vacation spot and we are both pleased and totally baffled.
It has a lively bustling fishing Port and delightful old town centre (founded 500 years ago) There are charming old cobbled streets and delightful local shops and plazas. There are a huge variety of cafes, restaurants, ventas etc. in the area. Estepona has a very safe feel about it with little crime.
From the bus station, you can travel to Gibraltar; Marbella; Casares & even Madrid.
Try it once and you'll want to come back.

1 out of 1 people recommend staying here

From Melbourne, Australia Jun 2005

Hi

Our week in Estopona was just fantastic and staying with Neville and family really did make special. The villa itself is tranquil and some days it was hard to step the required 8 metres from the door of the villa to the pool. A very well equipped place with plenty of comforts.

The surrounding area is beautiful. Rhonda was a great place for a day trip and we stayed a night in Seville which is highly recommended for the tapas.

Estepona itself was good too with lots of local tapas bars and a huge beach front (don’t expect the yellow sand of Australia though).

All in all it was highly recommended and we already planning a trip back to the villa after the games.

You will love it.

LynneThank you for your kind words! We had a lovely time, as always; knowing how work has been for both me and Stephen since we've been back, I long to be there still !!! Best regards Alison and Stephen

Hello Neville and Lynne,I have meant to e-mail you earlier, and your news of the heated swimming pool has prompted me! Thank you very much for making my stay at the Pool Apartment a very relaxing one. It truly is a wonderful place and your attention to detail was much appreciated. I will most certainly recommend the Villa to my friends and family. I am sure we will meet again, but in the meantime, I do hope you both get some use out of the pool yourselves now it is warmer!Kind regards,Valerie----- Original Message -----

Dear Neville and Lynne,Just a brief note to thank for giving us such a great time in Spain and totell you how much we really enjoyed staying in your villa. It was veryapparent how thoughtful you were and that you really go the 'extra mile'to provide for all ones needs whilst on holiday. We had a very easy journeyback to Jerez -they have nearly finished making the road dual carriagewayall the way. Rayain air was great and both our flights come in a littleearly. We have been telling our friends about our holiday and I think one ofmy colleagues at school has looked at your web site. I know my daughterDeborah and son-in law Lance would love to come. They were planning to goaway some time during the month Lance's brother and his wife come over fromSouth Africa so I know Lance is trying to convince his brother that he couldspend a few days in Barcelona and then join them on the coast. Anyway I amsure we will visit you again some time and wish you all the success youdeserve in your new venture. Thanks again Liz and Lionel.

Dear Neville, Lynne and of course Anna (she of the big dowry!- if I was only 20 years younger!!!)Just wanted to say a big thank you for your hospitality and a wonderful holiday, it was great.Didn't want to leave on Sat I was enjoying it so much. Can't wait till June!Malag was a suprise, but I realise why I love Estepona so much.I will confirm my details for June etc in the next week or so.I have been thinking about emigrating to Spain, but not sure how I could achieve this. Maybe one day!Take care David

Dear Neville and Lynne,We stuck to our programme, apart from the hotel that was closed. The views East of Madrid were fantastic and the sea fairly calm so it all went well.We have been really good with our diet and swimming so we are slightly less bloated than we were when you last saw us. Since we got back we have:sorted a ton of mail and dealt with some of it,the new curtains in our bedroom are nearly complete the stairs are half donewe have a new loo downstairs for visitors this time without a saniflowwe are a care service and hospital car scheme for next door as Bruce, poor chap is back in having his lungs drained of fluid.we spent a whole fantastic afternoon in tears watching and listening to Bocelli from the DVD you so kindly sent us. You are naughty. We can't thank you enough.Although it's nice to be home we do miss our apartment, the sun, the pool view, our walks, your company, our meals out in the town, breakfast in the sun on the patio. We could go on & on.Give our love to Bambie and Thumper. Hope these attachments work.Loads of love,Shirley and JohnKeep in touch

Dear Neville and Lynne The journey home was ony 40 minutes delayed but we were in our own beds by 2.00 am (UK time). No lager louts all very respectable. Although the sun is shining and the temp is in the 70s we have got the heating on! Thanks for providing us with such lovely accommodation you really are the extra mile and it was also good to be able to chat and have the benefit of your local knowledge. We loved the holiday and it was just the sort of break Judi needs. Attached are a few snaps I will be working on the others over the next few weeks. I was rather taken with your pot of chrysanthumums which I thought was very Goya so I have played with it a bit. It was also nice meeting you and hopefully you will see us again. I will be in touch with Neville shortly and Judi will send the pictures to Lynne. Mike

Neville, Lynne and Anna Just to say we had a great week at the villa, it was exceeded our expectations. Very sorry about the alarm. When it went off I think David got a freight and knocked it off the bed side cabinet by accident. As I'm sure you know things don't bounce on tiles floors! I would have left a note but did not have a pen. Very sorry, please use the 10 euros to buy a new one or a bottle of wine (even better!) We managed to get home, but thought one of the cases had been left behind, although it turned up 30 minutes later and then we were stopped at customs for another 30 minutes even though we hardly had any duty free, my mother was waiting for us and thought that something had happended and we have missed the flight, she was getting very worried! Weather is miserable in the UK and I got soaked coming to work and our heating is not working, but apart from that it's back to normal, and missing Villa Tranquilla already. I'm sure we will be back sometime soon. Thanks for a great week. Julie and David.

Extra information

Once you have experienced Villa Tranquilla, we feel sure that you will want to re-book and/or tell friends about the unique holiday experience that you have just enjoyed. We have an 8 mtr pool, heated (Oct-Apr) half-acre garden, table-tennis, gas BBQs etc. We are an English family who purchased an enormous beautiful Spanish villa and transformed it into 4 delightful apartments. We live in one and ensure the smooth running of the other 'villapartments'. Whilst we are there to assist in any way we can, we try to be as unobtrusive as possible. For your safety, each apartment has a smoke detector(s), fire extinguisher and carbon monoxide detector/alarm. We feel sure that you will enjoy the Port and Town of Estepona. Northern Spaniards holiday here as they classify it still as a Spanish seaside resort, unlike for example Fuengirola, Torremolinas, Benidorm or Marbella where most British tourists end up on a cheap package deal. Come and try out Estepona. You may even like it!!

Private Owner From Estepona, Spain Member since Oct 2003

This is my third business life. On leaving school, I became an estate agent selling residential property in central London until 1985. I then set up a security installation business with 2 others in North London and sold my shares in the business, home & cars to go on a life-changing wild adventure that we are still living. We have 2 grown children who are now a Private banker in Singapore and a wife/mother in Estepona Port, looking after our precious grandchild Julian. Lynne (my wife of 30-odd years) who was a nurse at Kingston Hospital and I live here and run the business and our very friendly dog 'Charlie' amuses the clients. The business comprises Villa Tranquilla and our Port Apt which we purchased in 2002. We left Surrey, the drizzle and expensive life behind us to try something new. We bought the apartment after seeing only 3, but it took 62 houses before we saw our 'country house on the edge of town' that we converted into 4 terrific apartments. We live in the largest and rent out the other three on holiday lets. After 13 years, we have a pretty faithful group of re-visitors, friends who have been recommended by previous clients and new clients. It is a wonderful life-style as we get the benefits of the weather; cheaper life; meeting some wonderful people who stay and often end up as good friends, then finally living in another country, seeing how the Spanish live yet still being close enough to pop back to England to see friends & family on a semi-regular basis. You should try it !
