Apartment overview - owner's description
This beautiful apartment is tastefully decorated in terracotta and pastel shades and contains all the requirements for a comfortable family holiday or romantic break. Situated in Residencial Europa which was built in 2001, the apartment is the upper floor of a pretty duplex. The Residencial comprises duplexes and villas and is therefore much quieter than an apartment block.
The apartment is large and airy as it overlooks the pool and gardens and contains a large front balcony and roof top solarium, ideal for that pre dinner cocktail as both have pleasant views, the latter has a panorama of Torrevieja, the salt lakes and surrounding hills, spectacular at sunset. The solarium is also ideal for sunbathing as it is almost completely secluded, all the required furniture loungers etc is provided and you can nip down to the pool for a refreshing dip.
Inside, the apartment contains a large living room, compact, fully equipped kitchen, a choice of three dining areas with the two outer areas,utility area where the washing machine is stored, one bathroom with toilet, bath ,shower, hand basin and bidet and one double and one twin bedroom. The bathroom is beside the master bedroom.Both bedrooms have built in wardrobes.The large outside area facilitates washing and drying of clothes.
The apartment overlooks a large communal pool with separate children’s pool so mums can keep a discreet eye on kiddies from the balcony. The pool is set in gardens, shrubbery and lawned sunbathing areas. A second, smaller communal pool can be found 2 minutes away on foot.
Residencial Europa is located on the outskirts of Torrevieja a mere 10 min walk to town centre and is one of the few developments in the town to boast such a large pool and garden area. It enjoys a prime location as it is within minutes on foot of all amenities.
There is a fully stocked 24 hour supermarket a two minute walk away.
There is a large Aldi store and a Pharmacy a five minute walk away.
There are several bars and restaurants at easy walking distance from the apartment.
Torrevieja Waterpark,known as Acquopolis, the largest in the Costa Blanca, is a 5 minute walk away.
The magnificent Park of the Nations is a 3 minute walk from the appartment complex. This beautiful park, of 40.000m2, is centred around a large lake which is shaped like the continent of Europe and flanked by the nations'flags.Boat trips can be enjoyed on this lake.The park also contains landscaped gardens, wild life sanctuaries for ducks, geese, peacocks and caged reptiles,a playground for kiddies and a cafe, making it a favourite haunt for families on balmy summer evenings.Many cultural events and Spanish fiestas are also held there.
The Habaneras shopping centre, built on three storeys, with its 70+ outlets like Zara, Mango,Bershka, H&M and C&A, is a 5 minutes' walk away. Next door to this is the enormous Carrefour hypermarket which sells everything from clothes and computers to bicycles and every conceivable type of food. Both Habaneras and Carrefour offer free wifi.
Habaneras, Carrefour,the water park,the casino, bowling,cinema and several restaurants of varying cuisine and budget are all located in this area, five minutes' walk from the appartment complex.
The colourful Friday market one of the largest in Spain has now been moved to this general area, just beyond the water park, and because of its new custom built location, is more spacious, has more amenities and also more outlets. Almost everything can be bought here and is in itself, a tourist attraction. It's a 10-15 minute walk from the apartment. It runs from 10am to 2pm approx. every Friday.
A 10 minutes' stroll in the opposite direction takes you to the centre of town with its pretty church square,ideal for a lazy coffee while watching the world go by. Free wifi is also available here. Just before the church square, on the right hand side is a good Internet Café, useful for printing out boarding cards.
The five blue flag Torrevieja beaches fan out on either side of the harbour.The nearest, is a 15 minute walk from the appartment.
Torrevieja bus station is five minutes away by taxi 10-15 minute walk from where there is a bus service to Alicante airport and back, every two hours, at an approximate cost of 7 euro each way. An airport pick up can also be arranged, if preferred. There is an extensive bus service to many neighbouring towns and cities such as Alicante and Murcia.
Torrevieja is a lively cosmopolitan town which has preserved its unique Spanish charm possibly due to the fact that there is no package tourism. It is much loved by the laid back Spaniards who holiday and retire here but it also has a large expatriate population which is reflected in the languages and cuisine as English is now the second language and restaurants of all nationalities can be found. A meal for two with wine still only averages 50 euro.
Due to its location between two saltwater lagoons, Torrevieja enjoys a micro climate, which the WHO has deemed the healthiest in Europe. It is ideal for arthritic or rheumatic sufferers. Summer temperatures vary from 25 to 35 degrees Celsius, winter from 15 to 25.
Car hire is not necessary as everything can be easily reached on foot, however a car is the best way to explore the surrounding area and petrol is cheap. The beautiful cities of Alicante, Murcia, Elche with its lush palm park and ancient Cartagena can all be reached in about 45 minutes. To the north, about one hour away lies the popular coastal resort of Benidorm while a few kilometres inland one discovers a rustic old world Spain of lemon and orange groves and sleepy, southern hamlets.

Torrevieja is a paradise for beach lovers as the five town beaches all hold the European Blue Flag for Clean Seas. In addition there are several secluded coves. All waterspouts are available on the main beaches.
There are several cruises available including a day trip to the island of Tabarca, an old style Mediterranean paradise of white washed, shuttered houses where time stands still.
Golf lovers will be spoilt for choice with seven first class golf courses a 15 – 45 minute drive away Campoamor,Villamartin,Las Ramblas,Golf Alenda,Altoreal and Golf Alicante. The world famous La Manga resort is also nearby.
There are several activities for children and teenagers as there are two aquatic centres,a theme park,amusement park,arcades, circus, and cinema all within easy walking distance.
Every kind of nightlife can be enjoyed from the casino to the macro discotheque Pacha, to a myriad of restaurants and bars for all tastes, palates and budgets.
Health and not so healthy enthusiasts can visit the salt lakes for a mudbath while culture lovers will be charmed by the Spanish love of pageantry to be seen in the many local fiestas.
The legendary Terra Mitica theme Park in Benidorm is easily accessible by public transport.

I would highly recommend this property for your stay in torrevieja, Kay the owner was very helpful and nothing was any problem , the apartment was immaculate and everything was there for your stay, the area was perfect as everything was close by, the communal pool was cleaned every day, supermarkets and shops were easy to get to and local taxi,s were cheap to go further, everyone on the complex were very friendly the food in nearby restaurants was very good and good value for money, the sun terrace in the apartment was very private and gave wonderful views of torrevieja, as said if you are planning a holiday to torrevieja then book this apartment you won,t be disappointed with either the location or the apartment, many thanks to Kay for making this an enjoyable holiday, and will definetly be booking again next year
The villa is lovely and airy and clean. Well equipped - travel plugs, hairdryer, straighteners, washing machine, lots of towels including some pool towels, well equipped kitchen with large fridge freezer, oven, hob and microwave. TV, DVD player, small stereo, CDs, DVDs. Books to read. We put the hot water on for an hour or two a day and this was plentiful for three of us. Air con worked fine and two freestanding fans. Plenty of tables, chairs, sun loungers - as per the photos. Nice plants - do help by watering them! Even fairy lights on the balcony for the evening! All in all very homely.
The shaded balcony overlooking the pool was lovely for afternoon lunches and late evening meals in the August heat. The views from the sun terrace over Torrevieja are wonderful.
The villa is well located as per the description. We didn't hire a car, but everything we needed was in walking distance. The shopping trolley was really useful. My teenage children were very dubious about using it at first, but were soon happy to pull it back laden with goodies from the Carrefour hypermarket! We visited the old church, new church and the marina. There are many places to eat in the town centre, so plenty of choice for all tastes.
We found a little bar that did nice food a little further behind the 24 hour shop - Bar La Esquina. Near to this is a small supermarket (Dialprix) that has its own bakery and we got our bread from here most days. 10mins from villa.
The Parc of Nations is lovely for a stroll and we had a picnic there on one of the many benches. The Friday market (10:00-14:00) is huge, sells everything! and well worth a visit. A nice shady tree lined walk to get there. (15/20 mins)
The pool is lovley and clean and large compared to many others. There is an attendant in July and August. The pool was open from 10am to 10pm in August. Many other visitors in the pool were Spanish but other nationalities and a few British too. Long hair must be tied back. Very friendly family atmosphere.
Kay was very helpful with the booking and also arranged door to door private transfers for us which was great. 45 mins from Alicante airport.
We would love to stay again and would definitely recommend it to friends and family.
Had a fabulous time again. This was our fourth year and we had a great holiday, very relaxing and flat was spotless as usual.
Had everything we needed for a great holiday. Feels like home. Pool is fab and my daughter and her friend loved it.

Lovely apartment on a quiet , clean and family oriented complex . It is situated on the first floor overlooking the pool and garden . Its equipped with all you could need for your stay right down to books to read . The apartment has air con and fans though we didn't use the air con as short bursts on the fans was enough . . We felt there was plenty of space and all the comforts of home , with the added bonus of a balcony to enjoy a cooling drink and a large solarium to sunbathe and take in the views . The walk to the marina and beaches is around 10-15minutes , there are a variety of restaurants and supermarkets within an easy walk too . So plenty of choice . We would recommend a stroll around the Park of Nations , two minutes away , very relaxed atmosphere .
So all in all a lovely peaceful haven in a busy Spanish town with all the comforts of home .
Dad and 2 boys 15 and 13 wanted a no frills holiday close enough to facilities with no need for a car. Perfect for us.
