Town house overview - owner's description
2 bedroom townhouse in La Carihuela, fully-equipped, modern kitchen and bathroom, in a small local community with pool, near excellent beach, restaurants, shopping, Torremolinos, Malaga.
A charming 2-bed townhouse situated in gated, pleasant well-maintained gardens, in a small, secure community and it is only 200 metres from La Carihuela beach and vuillage (see below). It has a secure dedicated car parking space directly beside the house - if youve been to La Carihuela before you'll know parking spaces are very difficult to find. You don't need a car though, as the house is excellently-located for good local public transport services.
The house has one double bedroom and one twin bedroom (with optional third bed) - a toddler-cot, high-chair and baby-bath are available if required at no extra charge.
Both bedrooms have AIRCON which provides cooling or heating as required. Please note that the aircon is controlled by a coin-operated timer designed to prevent irresponsible use, based upon current electricity prices. Operation of the aircon (for both bedrooms) costs approx 3 euros per night if it is on all night, the timer can be paused if you wish.
Each bedroom has a balcony, the one in the twin bedroom is enclosed so it is totally child-safe.
The house has ample space for 4 adults, if you are a couple then it is even more luxurious in terms of space. If you book for a 5th person who is not using the cot then a comfortable floor-mattress is provided.
The house is fully equipped - the bathroom and kitchen were completely renewed in 2016 - so you have a huge fridge-freezer (that works properly!), cooker, oven, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, kettle etc.
Please note that the bathroom has a large walk-in shower rather than a bath, with easy step-in access.
Also provided is a DVD player and TV with UK Sky satellite for TV and radio - note that availability of channels is variable but there are still plenty to watch - and online TV services via the internet.
There is a decent computer, superfast (usually over 150Mb) fibre-optic broadband and WiFi internet access normally available for your use - please note that this cannot be absolutely guaranteed as we do not have an on-site IT assistance contract (that would increase the rent by about £50pw!).
Please note: although this is a new listing we have had many very happy previous guests, we've changed site for 2018 once we realised how much extra the other lot were charging our guests....

The house is only 5 minutes walk from La Carihuela village, and so 6 minutes from a fantastic beach. La Carihuela is a well-known centre of Andalucian cuisine and so it is busy year-round, especially at weekends when many people come from nearby Malaga for Saturday or Sunday lunch.
There are excellent chiringuitos (beach café-bars), including the very well-known Playa Miguel and Horno Beach both within 10 minutes walk through the village. The Marina at Benalmadena Costa is only 20 minutes easy walk along the seafront. Torremolinos town centre is 20 mins walk the other way - forget the old image of Torremolinos, it is now primarily a Spanish destination as well as effectively being a suburb of Malaga, although if you wander around and look carefully there are still a few remnants of its British years in the 70s!
Malaga city is very easily reached by local bus (very frequent, run very late) or by the local trains which run via the airport every 20 minutes and only take 20 mins. Malaga is very much 'on-trend' these days, with all sorts of new museums and attractions as well as a burgeoning shopping scene, you can easily pop in for lunch or a night out.
Also nearby are the very scenic Mijas Pueblo up in the mountains, and Marbella (roughly 50 mins away) - both easy by local bus. The local travel agents also have trips to Gibraltar, Nerja, Granada etc. although again you can also easily do these under your own steam.
