Large family villa tastefully decorated with large heated pool terraces and fantastic views. Mature gardens, scenic walks from the house, 5km to the sea and Anaga National Park. Great Outdoor Hot Tub
In 1980 I bought 13500 sq meters of land in the village of Tegueste, basically a 45 meters wide and 350 meters long to the top of the mountain in which I built this fantastic house in three levels. Althogh the property is situated in the side of a steep hill which gives great views, the terraces are safe for children and there is a safety gate for the pooI. I lived there for 8 years until I went to England to work as a professional musician in the Halle Orchestra in Manchester, otherwise, I promise I would still be there. I fell in love with the place because it is really quiet and peaceful but not too far away from a bit of life. Over the years I have made additions and improvements to the house now I feel that it is somewhere that can be fully appreciated by others. The property is ideal for people to get together to enjoy group activities e.g. yoga, chamber music, painting, etc, because the house has a large room to accomodate lots of people.
The Villa is not located in a tourist resort and it has a very hidden access through a rough track (last 300 mts) that makes ideal for people who wants real peace and quiet. The track is a bit rough but good to drive with a car.
Within 5 minutes walk through the dirt track you are in the centre of village of Tegueste that has a charming square with an ancient church, many shops, restaurants, bars, but still retaining the typical canarian village feel. The local area is excellent to experience canarian food with restaurants boasting fantastic grills, fish and salads. I can recommend "La Bodeguita del Colgadizo" near the Church and Town Hall", "El Parralito" in El Socorro, Tegueste, very cheap and very good. Try "La Cofradia de Pescadores" by the little harbour in Punta del Hidalgo for some nice fish straight from the sea. With a car you can be at the coast in 6 minutes and enjoy the resorts of Bajamar and Punta del Hidalgo. If you want to get away from the artificial feeling of the mass tourism in the south to discover the rich culture of Tenerife then this is the place to be.
For music lovers there is a fantastic concert hall in Santa Cruz, the capital of Tenerife, and only 16 km away which runs an International Concerts Series attracting world- class musicians, ensembles and conductors. Ask for Auditorio De Tenerife.
From our experience we recommend hiring a car to make the most of the exciting places to visit. You can also use public transport to take you to the forest and then walk back to the house through beautiful routes.
We stayed in villa Musica on Christmas 2013 with family, all together 6 adults and 2 small children. The house is located in a very beautiful area and has good views. Tegueste village is small but has a good feeling to it and people are superfriendly. Also the village La Laguna near by was really nice. We liked the idea to be a little bit far away from tourist places and experience more authentic Tenerife. Since Teneriffe is such s small island and we had a car rented it was easy for us to drive through the island and visite southern beaches and waterparks as well (50 min drive). Mountain Teide was also amazing and worth visiting.
House is big and we fitted there easily. There were a christmas tree and other decorations witch was really nice suprice. Livingroom, kitchen and dinig area were big enough for our use as well. Pool area was nice and suitable for children. We had ordered heating to the pool and hot tub, but there were some lack of communication so they were not heated when we arrived. We could use the hot tub only after few days since the heating took time to work. The pool never heated and was ice could. It was a huge dissapontment specially for children. It was one of the main reasons we rented the place! We drove to south to go for waterparks and beaches couple of times for that reason. Otherwise we would have stayed more in the house like we originally planned.
The house was also really cold since there is no isolation and no proper heating system. The stove´s pipe was leaking so when we heated the stove smoke slowly came inside the house. Thats why we could use it only a little bit at time. The other heater in one bedroom did not work either. So if you want to visite this place on wintertime bring lots of warm clothes with you! On the summertime the place is propably much nicer since you dont need to worry about heating.
There were also other dissapointmets such as spiderwebs over our bed, only four wineglasses and eight forks in the entire kitchen, very old towels, highchair nearly fell apart and so one. Lots of small stuff where you can see the house, furnitures and other household items would need some repairing, renovating and celaning. Also we expected to have enough toilet paper for the whole week, detergent for the washing mashine, soaps and shampoons and so on, but that was not the case. We have been renting houses before in this same pricerange so I dont think our expetations were too high. This did not come close to the other villas and appartments that we have rented.

The rent of the house was cheap, so we dont expect any luxury villa. The heating of the swimming pool was broken which was annoying. We could not swim because the water was only 17 C. Fortunately the hot tub was working.

We enjoyed a delightful week at Villa Musica. There was so much space, we were all able to do our own thing inside or out, including spending happy hours by the pool together, or eating leisurely lunches on the covered terrace. The youngsters were free to explore the gardens and the hillside. There was an abundance of unusual flowers, enormous cacti and fruit around. Our laziness restricted outings mostly for food - to a choice of supermarkets and local shops and also a delightful, inexpensive restaurant. Seawater pools constantly replenished by the ocean at Bajamar made a great alternative afternoon's entertainment.
Recently returned from a superb holiday in Villa Musica (April 2010), with 3 children (9, 6, and 1).
Villa: extremely well-equipped, spacious, safe, secluded. After 2 weeks we felt very much at home here. The pool was great and provided days of entertainment for us and the children.
Location: this part of Tenerife is very green and lush, and is like a different world from the South. Tourists are nowhere to be seen here and a good phrase book (or grasp of Spanish) is required! There are lovely villages and resorts very near, and the old town of Puerto is only 30 mins drive.
Service: Roberto and his family looked after us better than we could have imagined (we were stuck after the Iceland volcano eruption). Nothing was too much trouble.
All in all a fantastic holiday for anyone looking for sun, swimming, and fun, but from the luxury of a quiet, secluded villa with the option to really experience the local culture.
The house is in a beautiful location with great views - there is always something new to see from the terrace. Inside the house is spacious, comfortable and well equipped with everything for a relaxing holiday. We spent most of our time by the pool - the photos on the website do not do it justice as the whole outside area is larger than you expect with several places to sit out. roberto and his family are a delight to deal with and very helpful with any request. Villa Musica is within walking distance from the town of Tegueste which is charming and has sufficient shops, bakeries, supermarkets and a delicatessen. The area is totally Spanish speaking and rich in Canarian culture which is a refreshing change from the south of the island. We loved it and can't wait to return for another visit.

We found this villa exceeded all our expectations. The location was wonderful, and very peaceful. It was very nice to be away from all the 'touristy' areas.
We could jump in the car and be in the capital city which was fantastic, with a gorgeous beach just a short drive away.
The property was extremely spacious and comfortable, and very homely too.
We would recommend it to anyone.
