Apartment overview - owner's description

This lovely 2 bedroom apartment is situated in the residential complex of Las Colinas de Calahonda, located half way up the valley between the hills and the coast and walking distance to La Siesta Golf Course and the Club del Sol Tennis Club. The complex offers a pool area set in mature gardens and has communal parasol and sun loungers. The indoor heated pool is closed from April til September and will be reopened again on October. The accommodation of this spacious 4th floor apartment consists of a large, open plan lounge/diner which has comfortable sofas, dining for 4, TV and WiFi. The lounge opens onto a terrace with fabulous views over the Mediterranean to North Africa, which you can see from the comfort of the seating area, or whilst dining or even lounging on one of the two sun loungers provided on the terrace. The separate kitchen is fully equipped including a washing machine and has a convenient arched serving hatch through to the dining area. The bedrooms are of a very comfortable size and the master bedroom is furnished with a double bed and has fitted wardrobes and its own balcony with some east facing sea views. The second bedroom has twin beds and fitted wardrobes, as well as a further pull out bed. This bedroom also has its own west facing terrace. There is a full bathroom equipped with a bath with shower attachment and there is a further WC/ shower room. Calahonda, set between Cabopino and Riviera, covers a large area running from beachside up into the hillsides. The area was originally chosen for its proximity to the sea and sandy beaches and for the ease of access to the higher, inland parts that offer the most fabulous views. Calahonda is a town packed with of interesting shops, bars and restaurants, plus a fantastic beach. It is located on the bus route between Fuengirola and Marbella, and is self sufficient with everything you may need close to hand, making it easy not to need a car during your holiday. During the summer months, it operates a road train providing transport around the town and up into the higher parts, which also has the only exit on the toll road between Mijas and Marbella. Although this sprawling urbanisation is split into beachside and inland, both are easily accessible with pedestrian and car overpasses and underpasses. On the winding road leading up and down the urbanisation you can find bars and restaurants and even a golf course and tennis club. The top of Calahonda is ideal for holidaymakers looking for a more tranquil location to get away from it all to unwind and relax, while nearer the beach there are many activities and nightlife to participate in.

The exact dimensions will vary from property to property but the agent has specified that bed sizes are as follows:

  • A single bed is typically 70cm to 85 cm wide and 180cm to 190cm deep.
  • A double bed is typically 140cm to 180cm wide and 180cm to 190cm deep.
  • A “grand lit” is a European double bed, suitable for couples, and can be smaller than the usual UK or American doubles. It is typically 130cm wide but in some instances may be wider; it is approximately 180cm to 190cm deep.

A bunk bed is two single beds, one on top of another. Some properties also have pull-out beds, sofa beds and/or bed chairs; in a few properties the bed can be low in a wooden frame on the floor. The beds often have terry cloth sheet mattress protectors to protect the mattresses; please use them with the bed linen.

Some properties may have a loft as a bedroom: this is usually an open room at the top of the house with sloping walls and mattresses on a low bed or on the floor itself. You need to climb a ladder to reach this room. Lofts are very popular with children but may not be suitable for adults or elderly guests.
