Like many people who have fallen in love with this island and its unique way of life, we decided to buy a property on Ibiza and following various trips to and from the island fell upon Casa Alegria. The first time we walked in here it felt like home and everyone that has come here says the same thing. Casa Alegria (Alegria means Joy or Happiness!) was built in 1969 and was one of the first houses to be built on this road (Punta Blanca). It is one of the original “hippy” houses in Ibiza and, over the years, has had many guises, including at one stage a "spiritual" hotel.
Casa Alegria - Apartment & Location
The apartment takes up the entire first floor of Casa Alegria, an owner-occupied house situated in a private cul-de-sac between Niu Blau and Cala Pada beaches just north of Santa Eularia.
The location is one of the finest points of the apartment. Through the main gate and turn left and you will see Niu Blau beach through the trees at the end of the road. Turn right, and right again and a short walk brings you to Cala Pada beach with its ferry service to Santa Eularia and onward to Eivissa (Ibiza Town) and Formentera.
A further five minute walk across Cala Pada brings you to the world famous Nikki Beach Club.
The apartment is air-conditioned and sleeps 4 people, 2 in a self-contained area with lounge, bathroom and kitchen, and 2 and across the large roof terrace in a separate double bedroom. Both bedrooms have en-suite facilities.
The distance between the roof terrace bedroom and self contained apartment is around 20 feet.
The apartment has been recently reformed with sliding glass doors installed to the apartment lounge, a new chill out area under the covered roof terrace, sliding glass doors installed to the terrace bedroom, and double glazing throughout. In addition both bathrooms have been updated with walk-in showers, and new interior floor tiles throughout.
All renters of the apartment have access to the swimming pool and gardens during the daytime up to 21.00hrs.
Please note the owners occupy the ground floor which has open access to the pool area, however you will be given as much privacy as you need during your time by the pool.
Casa Alegria- Local
The restaurant capital of Ibiza- Santa Eularia is 5 mins drive, and the cosmopolitan Eivissa (Ibiza Town) with its renowned bars and clubs is a further 15 min drive.
Our favourite eaterie - Vis a Vis is in nearby S'Argamassa, just behind Nikki Beach and is open April-October- its a must!!!
We do recommend hiring a car to maximise your stay.
Just returned from a week at the Casa Alegria-Apartment. We had a fantastic stay. The apartment was cosy, clean and comfortable. Its in a great area for all your needs, lovely beaches, resturants, Hippy Market. You feel like your in the real Ibiza. Would highly recommend a stay here to anyone.

Excellent property. Everything u need is here. High standard of accommodation with immaculate gardens and of course lovely pool.. Andy who resides in the ground floor accommodation is on hand to offer advice and is able to help whenever he can. My wife left a pair of reading glasses and he kindly sent them back to the UK. Overall, lovely accommodation which we would be happy to return to.

The property was in an ideal location and had all the facilities we needed and overall we had a very enjoyable stay. We did howvever have some criticisms: the cost of the rental was high comparable to similar apartments we are aware of or have rented in other parts of Spain- this may be just market forces in Ibiiza but this has clouded our opinion. The condition of the apartment although clean was a little tired, some fittings (one a/c and shutters)were in need of repair or just in need of maintenance.
We rent out flats in the UK and our judgement is based on the standards we set for our own properties.

Lovely rooms with big terrace offering wonderful private night sky views and daytime sunbathing.
Owners very friendly and helpful without being at all intrusive.
Easy to reach all parts of island while still giving you a good "away from it all" feeling.
Wi-Fi very handy for keeping in touch with people (and work) back home. A freelance could work from here all summer long.
Lovely big shared pool though we didnt use it - were not pool people.

The Casa Alegria Apartment is a haven of tranquility with a brilliant location ideal for people who want the laid-back Ibizian experience.
The photos on this site dont really give you the feeling of space you are getting - the rooms and terrace are much bigger then I expected and are huge by Ibizan standards. The accomodation is very Ibizan in style, homely, comfortable and charming.
The hosts are extremely welcoming and met every request we made. I had my 8 month old son with me and they were beyond accomodating to us.
The location is superb if you want to potter to a quite beach by day and dont mind a bit of a drive for eating out or are happy to eat in. Santa Eularia is reachable by the cliff/beach walk but this isnt really suitable for buggies or at night either. I think you need a car in Ibiza no matter where you are to make the most of the Island and this location is no different, one word of warning - the access road is very bumpy! Which - come to think of it - is fun in a hired car!
Waking up to the sound of birds and having your breakfast in the sunshine on the terrace - then choosing which beach to stroll to? We will definately go back!

This was our first time to Ibiza and what can I say...totally chilled out!!!. It is a beautiful island..and Casa Alegria was perfect, a home from home with everything you need. The huge (roof) terrace was a highlight for us. We spent many an evening after a BBQ, chilling with wine and watching the lizards hunt for moths ( very entertaining!)...

Lovely residence in a very quiet place! The pool and garden area was far over our expectations so also the apartments big terrace. It was clean and had all the facilities for 4 people. The owners was absolutely fantastic and lovely to meet! Very nice couple! The only thing that could have been better is the bed in the apartment-bedroom which was a bit too short for my husband. The terrace-bedroom was absolutely fantastic! Overall.... a fantastic place we really can recommend!

More than 1 mnute to beaches ! but only 5 minutes slightly rough walk. However beaches well worth it. Apartment clean and reasonably well equipped. Only real downside being the kitchen - very small and not very well designed or equipped. Apartment ina very good position with nice views in the best part of the island

Loved the accomodation and the local area. Was unsure how it would work out with owners living below but they were perfect in every regard. Not too intrusive yet there to offer sound advice and help whenever called upon. We didnt have a car and didnt feel that we needed one. Look forward to returing - thank you

The property was well set out and had a lovely roof terrace. The decor seemed a bit tired in the kitchen and bathrooms. It was in a great location and the owners were very helpful.
Review submitted by Nina from Barnet 6 Sep 2010
The property is brilliantly located - with easy walking access to two very nice beaches and a short car journey to other places of interest. However, we were disappointed to find that one of the two bedrooms advertised was in a self-contained building at the other end of the terrace. This was not made explicitly clear in the advertisment and was wholly unsuitable for a family with young children. We ended up having to sleep 4 to the aparment using the double bed, a camp bed and the sofa! Had this been made explicit we wouldnt have chosen the apartment at this stage as it is better suited to 2 couples or perhaps families with older children who are comfortable with the children sleeping in a separate building.

Review by Veronica Bailey from LondonOCTOBER 2004 Arriving on Ibiza, with only a 20 minute drive from the airport to Casa Alegria, there is a realization that you can be relaxing in the sun by the pool, within the tropical green surroundings so typical of Niu Blau, in a matter of 3 hours from London Stanstead. This traditional detached spanish villa has spacious accommodation suitable for both family and friends, with enough bathrooms, terraces, and garden for you all to relax either together or in your own sun-spot. The large private roof terrace above the main house can be a separate apartment with your own barbecue and views across this fertile land. The perfect place to watch the sun go down in the evening. And in the morning a sublime window view from the bathroom, of olive trees basking in morning sun within the rich red soil reminds you of why you are on holiday. Downstairs sleeps 6-8 (with 3 en-suite double bedrooms) and the large living room opens out onto a stone veranda which overlooks the pool. This area is where the entertaining gets going. A large wooden table and chairs, sheltered from the sun if need be, are the best seats in the house. Once the music is tempo, and the beverages flowing, one can forget the day and time and loose oneself in the beautiful, ambient surroundings that Andrew and Catherine have so successfully created. Dinning 'al fresco' is the best way to enjoy Casa Alegria but should you be recovering from a night or lunch in Ibiza town and needing to get away from the heat of the sun, each bedroom is tastefully decorated, with cool egyptian cotton sheets and fluffy white towels. You can re-charge with a disco nap /siesta before relaxing in this Ibiza's perpetual motion.
Review by James Straffon from London (firstname.lastname@example.org)OCTOBER 2004 The only downside to staying at Casa Alegria, is you might not see much of Ibiza. Such is the inherent tranquility - from residing amongst fragrant pines, a stones throw from an undisturbed, sheltered beach - you will almost definitely want to indulge yourself, by experiencing every inch of this rustic, characterful oasis. Well-positioned to sample Ibiza's varied markets and towns, we found Casa Alegria provided an ideal base to get into 'island life'. But you can equally stock-up with wares and kick back in this charming haven and let the world go by. Whether lounging around the pool, or feasting to the ubiquitous accompaniment of evening Cicadas, there's scope to relax and unwind, in excess.
