Apartment overview - owner's description

Restoring this 67-square meter (720-square feet), two-bedroom apartment has been a real labor of love. It is decorated with original artwork from local artists, as well as copies of Picasso's works from his early years in the neighborhood.

The spacious and bright apartment has 3.4 meter-high (11 feet), barreled ceilings with exposed beams and is fully equipped with an LG flat screen Smart TV (ready for your Apple TV or personal media player), a Bluetooth-ready LG sound bar and sub-woofer, lightning-fast wireless internet throughout, washing machine, a portable air conditioning unit, fans, a fully stocked kitchen and a wine cabinet. The comfortable dining and living rooms are equally perfect for a quiet night in or for entertaining friends.

Our master bedroom has a 160cm bed (slightly larger than a queen) and sitting area and the guest bedroom has a 140cm bed (slightly smaller than a queen but larger than a full). Both mattress are brand new this year. If you absolutely must get some work done, there is a dedicated office space which also enjoys the picturesque views of the Cathedral.

Our apartment is located in a small, quiet building with only four total units, one on each floor. And the icing on the cake is the roof top terrace with views over the old city - a perfect place to end the day with a bottle of Cava.

We love our apartment here in Barcelona. We hope you will too.

Located in the Born District around the corner from the historic Santa Caterina Market, this neighborhood within a neighborhood offers you access to the city's most trendy bars, restaurants and shops with the added convenience of a metro stop just two minutes away. Steps outside your front door is a Michelin-rated restaurant and an organic grocery store. Though tucked away in an area still predominated by local residents, you are a never less than a 10 minute walk to most of Barcelona's most desirable attractions.

The bus and subway are a few steps from the front door to travel to other parts of town, but the Born District is a walking neighborhood filled with old winding pedestrian streets and alleyways.

Depending whether or not we are in town, my wife and I are happy to interact with guests as much as they like. We can provide restaurant recommendations, as well as give advice as to the best sites to see.

What should I say, It was a very nice stay, I was there alsmost 7 weeks and I felt like at home. The apparment is very good located. U have around u all kind of restaurants, supermarkts, nice places to explore. It is really a perfect place specially if u want to discover Barcelona without using transportation. And if transportation is needed just 2 minutes walk and u get to jaume 1 station where u can take the subway. Kate and Daniel were very helpful. I did enjoy the stay at Chad and Kori and thanks again for the great hospitality. Chad and Kori you get for everything 5 stars from me. October 2018

Highly recommended to anyone visiting Barcelona! The apartment was perfect for us. Plenty of space, a well stocked kitchen with appliances and utensils, and very comfortable beds including foam mattresses, superb pillows, with excellent linens. This is very high praise from my wife, who emphasises her sleep! The location couldn't be better for those interested in exploring the Gothic Quarter by walking. Out the window was a gorgeous view of a Gothic Cathedral and the original Roman settlement. Excellent restaurants abound nearby, as do many landmarks. Just ten minutes away is one of the most famous markets in Barcelona with vendors of bakery, fruits and vegetables, meats, and gourmet items. Our hosts couldn't have been more helpful and accomodating. Communication was timely, and very helpful. Upon arrival at the apartment, we were greeted by the property manager who took the time to orient us to the neighborhood, and the features of the apartment. We were pleased to find excellent Wifi, and a smart TV. This is a great place, in a legendary neighborhood, of one of Europe's greatest cities!

Great apartment in a fantastic location. I spent nearly 2 months at the apartment which was beautifully decorated and in a great location with a mercado one side and the cathedral on the other. Although I didn’t get to meet the owners, they left a beautiful gift basket for my arrival which was very thoughtful. The unit is on the third floor so you need to think about how much luggage you take, the beds are really soft and communication with the person looking after the unit was pretty average. I had to follow him up several times on issues I had which weren’t resolved. from Homeaway 06/24/2018 at 6:38 AM

Great location The apartment is very convenient to most all venues. It is average in size. Living area is spacious. Kitchen and bathroom are small but functional. Master BR is decent size. @nd BR is very tight. But you are in Barcelona! This is easily one of the finest cities we have ever visited. It is clean, safe, and has a good transportation infrastructure. This was our first visit to Barcelona. It will nor be our last! 04/06/2018 at 10:22 AM

The apartment is at a great location from which to explore Barcelona. It’s across the street from the cathedral square, the city history museum, around the block from Santa Caterina market, and all sorts of restaurants and cafes. As far as transportation, it's close to the metro and nearby a taxi stop. The place is comfortable and well decorated to make it feel like home. It’s attractively furnished, including a large flat screen TV. The artwork on the walls are reproductions of paintings in the collection of the Picasso museum (also a few streets away). There is also a nice information folder with all the necessary info on the appliances as well as places to visit and restaurant recommendations. Access to the apartment is by two flights of stairs, which might be an issue for some people but was not a problem for us. The hosts are super friendly and highly responsive for when we needed extra information. Overall, highly recommended! Five stars for this comfortable and wonderful place in Barcelona. November 2017

Special Apartment with Character and all mod cons Quick summary: Apartment very well presented. Tastefully decorated, great attention to detail. Quirky building, Centrally located, Prime spot. Great food shopping almost on doorstep. Public Transport too. Nice views of cathedral. The couple were so friendly and helpful. A welcome hamper was kindly organised which was very welcomed by us :) - It helped us relax once we arrived, with great comforts from wine to chocolate, teas etc. If we come to stay in Barcelona again, this property is hands down our first choice. from Homeaway 08/31/2017 at 1:22 PM

Great location in beautiful El Born We love Barcelona and this unit is located in beautiful El Born. The unit provided us very adequately with all our needs for a comfortable 3 month stay. The unit is up two flights of stairs. It has a nice sized main bedroom with a comfortable bed. The second bedroom has a double bed which takes up virtually all of the floor space. The living room is a nice size with an adjoining dining area. The bathroom is what I call bijou, i.e very small. Shower is nice and works well. The kitchen is also small and has a gas 4 ring unit, but no oven or dishwasher. Washing machine works well. The unit is very tastefully decorated with a number of very nice pieces of artwork in each room. Equipment is totally comprehensive and we did not need to buy anything additional to cook, eat or clean. Owners have some friends who were very helpful with handing over keys and getting us settled, even to the extent of helping us with the tv. The unit is very well served with bus and metro virtually on the doorstep. On leaving the unit, you are immediately in the wonderful narrow streets of El Born, and with the Gothic district a few minutes away. The beach is a 15 minute walk. We loved Sagrada Familia, Sant Pau Hospital, Barcelona History Museum where you can walk quite literally through the remains of a Roman city area. Casa Botllia was also great but too pricey. Many of these places are unique and you will not see the likes of them anywhere else in the world. I am no fan of modern art and found the Picasso Museum to be a total endorsement of my view. His latter work is just rubbish, imho. Overall we had a wonderful time in Barcelona and this unit played a significant part. 03/08/2018 at 11:15 PM
