Authentic 200 year old farmhouse in Menorca


This stunning 2 bedroom farmhouse, lovingly restored using a combination of natural materials & driftwood from the northern shores, offers its guests privacy & exclusivity. Entranced through traditional olive wood gates & under a honeysuckle arch, the limestone pathway leads you to the secluded house where you are greeted by a typical Menorcan stone table & bench seat where breakfast can be eaten all summer long. To the rear of the house you will discover a covered terrace that seats eight, 2 BBQs & a private bar to sit & while away the night. The main house has a master suite with super king bed & shower room with private terrace for lazy breakfasts. Downstairs is a second smaller double/twin room with bathroom, lounge & well equipped kitchen. A separate guest house with queen (or twin beds if preferred) & en suite shower room plus a second bedroom with two bunks is also available by request. A beautiful private pool with outdoor shower and secluded sun terrace makes for the perfect holiday.
All bathrooms have been recently renovated using a combination of local limestone & driftwood in keeping with the character of the property. They are all individual in design. The master suite & the guest house have large walk-in showers while the downstairs bathroom has a small bath with overhead shower. The driftwood used has all come from the northern shores of Menorca. Flagstone floors add to the feeling of space. All have windows and heated towels rails.

Location Information: Set in the unspoilt, picturesque hamlet of Torret, surrounded by pretty white farmhouses & open fields yet within walking distance of the lovely historic town of San Lluis & a few minutes from the sandy beaches at Binibeca/Alcaufar, this 200 year old farmhouse is an absolute delight. Tranquil & secluded, it offers a haven for those who want to relax & enjoy everything that Menorca does best! Torret village itself hosts 3 excellent restaurants with many more just a short amble away. A 10 minute drive to the beautiful port at Mahon which offers bars, restaurants & a vibrant atmosphere . The beautiful coastline that makes Menorca justifiably memorable is only a few minutes drive away, or for the more athletic, a half hour stroll. A short distance away is the picturesque inlet of Cala Fonts with the first cafe on the island to get the morning sun! The Fonts, with its natural beauty & choice of waterside alfresco lunch/evening dining, is a must for any visitor.

The house is located in the much sought after village of Torret, close to the town of San Lluis. It is only a short distance from Mahon and takes 10 minutes by car from the airport. Torret is only minutes from some of the island's favourite child friendly beaches e.g. Binibeca and Alcaufar. The village itself has 3 fine restaurants which are all within walking distance. There are also 2 very popular Italian Pizzerias within a 5 minutes drive. San Lluis town is a 5 min walk & has a church, a selection of bars, restaurants, coffee bars, shops & banks. La Rueda, the well known tapas bar, attracts visitors from all over the island & is very child friendly. The nearest supermarket, Sa Botega de S'Uestra, acknowledged to be the best on the Island for its locally grown vegetables & friendly coffee bar, is located at the end of the Torret village.The staff are Menorcan but speak excellent English.

Nearest golf: Son Parc, 20 Kilometres
The only golf course on the island at present is at Son Parc. This is a short 20 minute drive away. However, 2 more courses are presently at the planning stage. Son Parc offers practice facilities/video recording of your swing, etc., as well as an excellent restaurant/bar at the 19th hole. If you are looking for company, we can always find you a partner to play a round with should you so wish. Clubs, trolleys & buggies are available for hire. Son Parc hosts a lovely sandy beach for the family while you relax and enjoy your day.

Extra information (Prices quoted are for the main farmhouse rental for up to 4 persons (not per person) per week. A supplement applies for the additional use of the guest house. This price includes accommodation for up to an extra 2 adults & 2 children Cot and cot linen hire £30 per week. Bookings are taken on a Friday to Friday basis. Access by 3pm with departure time of 10am. These arrangements can be flexible depending on the time of year & arrival time of the next guests. Sorry no pets allowed. The owners respectfully request you refrain from smoking indoors. Long term rental of minimum 84 nights between 2nd Nov 2012 and 5th April 2013 available - please inquire at time of request.)
