Apartment overview - owner's description
This apartment is situated on the most prestigious Island in Sotogrande. It is situated between the marina & the port and is set in its own garden with a private pool right on the waterfront. It is south west facing which takes advantage of the sun from late morning to sunset.
There is a spacious living and dining area which leads to the garden and patio areas via patio doors. The patio area is covered looking out to the waterfront wtih both dining and seating facilities. There is another patio area which is ideal for alfresco dining and the garden has its own private pool.
The master bedroom suite has its own patio doors leading out to the garden. It is furnished with a double bed, a large separate fully fitted dressing room, and a bathroom. The bathroom has a separate bath, two vanity basins, heated towel rail and a large power shower cubicle. There is also a separate toilet and bidet.The second bedroom has fully fitted wardrobes with twin beds and its own ensuite bathroom.
There is a large entrance hall with its own guest cloakroom. The kitchen has new quality appliances with a separate utility area housing the washing machine and tumble dryer. Each room has climate control air conditioning with individual controls in each room.An allowance is included in your holiday cost for normal consumption of electricity. This will be advised to you in units of electricity on arrival at the villa. Any electricity used in excess of this will be charged to you locally. The meter will be read before, and at the end of your holiday. This condition is to ensure fair use of the air conditioning. There is satellite TV with numerous English Channels but due to sky satellite no longer covering southern Spain there are no free to view channels.
Access to the apartment is via its own bridge and security over the canal taking you onto the Island. Entry to the apartment is by videophone with twenty-four hour security both on the Island and in the resort.
There is no need to drive as it is only approximately minutes to walk to the beach, the main port of Sotogrande and the Sotogrande Blue shopping centre where a variety of restaurants,bars, banks and shops can be found.There are also the beach clubs, sailing, water sports, bike hire and tennis all within 10 -15 minutes walk. Horse riding is also available on the estate and there are numerous golf courses with the prestigious golf course of Valderama being within 10 minutes drive from the apartment.
Sotogrande is a country estate of over 4000 acres, which is regarded as being one of Spain’s most prestigious resorts and is the westernmost resort on the Costa del Sol in southern Spain. It has around 12 miles (20km) of coastline. From many of the resort's beaches there are fine views of Gibraltar a few miles along the coast.
Sotogrande has a lovely marina where there are are many fine bars and restaurants where you can sit and admire the luxury yachts. There is also the new Blue Sotogtrande where there is a market every Sunday along the quayside.
Sotogrande is home to a couple of Europe's finest golf courses, Valderrama and the Sotogrande Old Course, Just along the coast from Sotogrande is Alcaidesa, the only links course on the Costa del Sol. From its fairways there are magnificent views of Gibraltar, just a short distance away. Other well known golf courses within easy reach of Sotogrande include Almenara and La Reserva de Sotogrande. Both of these offer great scenery and beautifully maintained tees, fairways and greens.
Polo is another sport that is strongly associated with Sotogrande. The Santa Maria Polo Club, situated close to the River Guadiaro, boasts superb facilities including a couple of top-class polo fields. Every August the club hosts one of the sport's most prestigious trophies, El Torneo Internacional. Sotogrande also has a horse riding school and two tennis clubs.
The El Octogono Beach Club, boasts a restaurant, swimming pool, large lawn and a children's play area. The club offers a wide selection of water sports, including sailing, water-skiing and jet skiing. Kayaking is also available on the River Guardiaro nearby.
Sotogrande has another beach club called El Cucurucho. This has four swimming pools, a sauna, landscaped gardens and a chiringuito (beach bar). El Cucurucho also boasts a restaurant offering regional and international cuisine. A busy program of activities, which includes face painting, treasure hunts, juggling and volleyball, helps to keep children occupied.
There are plenty of places to visit such as Seville, Granada, Ronda, Cordoba, Nerja and Casares.
The beautiful old quarter in Marbella & Puerto Banus which are only 40 min away by car.
Gibraltar is 20 minutes away where it is possible to take boat trips for Dolphin & Whale watching. There are excursions to Morroco from Algeciras & Tarifa.
Skiing is within 2.5 hours to the Sierra Nevada mountains where you can hire all ski equipment.The best months being from January to March, though it is sometimes possible to ski until the beginning of May.
