Apartment overview - owner's description

This 5* apartment comes fully furnished and fitted with all the equipment you will need for a comfortable and enjoyable holiday. It has 2 bedrooms, 1 double and 1 twin. Both bedrooms have fitted wardrobes with build-in drawers. The apartment also benefits from 2 fully fitted bathrooms one of which is en-suite. The modern galley kitchen is also fully fitted and includes a large fridge/freezer and dishwasher, washing machine, as well as a kettle, toaster, coffee makers and microwave and cooker and oven..

The lounge/diner is very tastefully furnished, with the emphasis being on comfort and usability. From the lounge there are large patio doors that lead out to your own private porch set in your own private south facing garden. A garden table and chairs are provided for those of you wishing to eat al fresco and take full advantage of the warm weather and sea breeze.

The lounge comes equipped with an LCD TV and Uk Sky Channels. There is also a DVD player that has USB and memory card inputs so you can view your photos on the TV. There is also hot and cold air conditioning.

The complex is private, gated and very child friendly .Residents can enjoy the extensive gardens and have a choice of open-air or indoor swimming pools. There is also a children play area and paddle tennis court on site. Covered allocated parking is also provided.

Around the corner from the complex, approximately 5 minutes walk from the apartment, there is a large supermarket that has a British section.

There is also a restaurant and two bars within a 5 minute walk.


The apartment is in the prime location of the area (in my opinion), being close to all of the areas amenities and at the same time providing a quiet place to return to after the day’s activities. Although there are buses and taxis, I strongly recommend that you have a car, everything is within a short driving distant.

The town of Vera is about 7/8 minutes away and is a historical Spanish town. There are bars, restaurants, and a bullring and football stadium. It is great for shopping and has banks, solicitors, estate agents and every other kind of shops you will need. Vera’ streets are one of the best places to sample the rich local cuisines or to find hand crafted traditional pottery. Vera has a weekly Saturday market where many bargains are to be found.

Vera Playa is about 5 minutes away and is a point of reference for lovers of naturism as in El Playazo de Vera, a strip of coast with 5 kilometres of beach with white sands and crystalline waters, is the only naturist hotel complex and beach in Spain. Puerto Rey is our nearest beach being about 2 minutes away and forms part of the longest stretch of beaches in Almeria (8 kilometres). There are also numerous bars, shops and restaurants in this area. Vera Playa also has the Water Park of Parque Acuatic, which with its many shoots and slides, plus areas to relax in offers all the ingredients for a great day out.

Just down the coast about 10 minutes away is the seaside village of Garrucha. This village has three ports and if you are around early in the morning you can see the fishermen sailing out to sea. A fish auction is held about 5.30pm every evening chaired by the said same fishermen. Garrucha has a great beach, shops, bars and restaurants and is the “Mecca” of fish. If you do nothing else in Garrucha do try one of the many fish dishes served at the many fish restaurants, you will not be disappointed.

Mojacar Playa is about 15 minutes drive away and offers a wide selection of shops, restaurants and bars as well as nightclubs. Mojacar Playa also has a great sandy beach and a long promenade that is perfect for strolling along.

Mojacar Pueblo is about 5 minutes from Mojacar Playa and is an ancient Moorish village. It is located on the mountain top over looking the sea. It has narrow streets and cube-like whitewashed houses. It is great for exploring in the daytime and at night its bars serve some great tapas.

There are 4 golf courses within 15 minutes drive of the apartment including the famous Desert Springs and 18 holes Valle del Este, and Marina Golf as well as the 9 hole Cortijo Grande.

Within 10 minutes of the apartment is the Garrucha Go-Karting track where a great day out can be had by the whole family.

There is a sport centre about 5 minutes away that has a gym, tennis courts and golf driving ranges. Water sports are also available at the majority of the beaches. As are horse riding, quad bike tours and rentals.

Almeria city is about 50 minutes away and has all of the large shops and department stores that makes for a good day shopping. It is a lively and modern city, with a large port where you can get a ferry to Africa. It also has a bus and railway station. Almeria city also has a sports marina and fishing port. It is an old historical city and therefore has a wealth of historical sites, museums and art galleries. It also benefits from great restaurants, traditional tapas bars and nightclubs. It even has a long and wide sandy beach.

The Sierra Nevada Mountains are excellent for hiking in the summer and skiing in the winter and are about 2 hours away. The famous town of Granada is about 2 hours away also.

Mini-Hollywood where they filmed the spaghetti westerns such as, “the Good the Bad and the Ugly”, “the Magnificent Seven” and “A Fistful of Dollars” and many more films is now a mock-up of an American Wild West town set in the Tabernas Desert. It offers a great day out for all the family and includes mock cowboy shoot-outs and a zoo.

This is the driest part of Europe with approximately 320 days of sunshine each year, The Almeria region is agricultural, with many greenhouses and fields growing a variety of produce such as tomatoes, lettuces, melons, lemons, oranges and olives.

The Costa Almeria is as varied as any of the Spanish Coasts. The coast is relatively unspoilt, especially compared to the other “costas.” To the east of Almeria we find the rugged and desolate coast of the Cabo de Gata - Nijar Natural Park. This is an arid desert landscape and the annual rainfall here is less than 200mm. It is sparsely populated, few villages and a very low population density. Visitors feel a sense of exploration here as many of the coves can only be reached on foot. This area is particularly popular with nature lovers and back-packers.

This apartment is in the countryside and in a quiet area near the beach. It has a shared pool, outside lighting, a garden, a sea view and a tennis court. Car hire is recommended as the apartment is less than a 15 minute walk to at least a couple of shops, bars and restaurants; however parking is available if required.
